I'm so bad at these types of games, lol. This is a good concept that's well executed. :) It would be nice to have a charging gauge when holding an arrow button that controls how much of a push the balloon gets.

Flappy bird vibes

Nice little game, fun to play, simple and effective!

Difficult game at the beginning, the controls are unusual, which makes dodging barrels and stones very interesting. Had fun playing it!

The background art is beautiful.

Nice work!  Nice and simple controls and mechanics, easy to learn, hard to master!  I played a few times, I think my highest was 21

This is fun!  I got 33 points. The way the hazards start coming at you seems really well planned out / programmed.  Threading the needle between a barrel and a rock is super exciting. Feels complete with audio and graphics and feels like a  finished game overall.

Simple little game that I was very bad at ;P
I think we used the same sprite for the red barrels in our game at first (and then it got replaced, like all art I put into a game ;P)

Well done !

Thanks for playing! Funny story - I actually made the red barrel art myself (although I did look at references); the fact that it looks THAT close enough to some other generic red barrel art is hilarious (doesn't speak highly for my art skills but I guess it works with the idea that red barrels are a cliche in gaming).

Following the tips in the below comments I was able to get past the first few obstacles. The movement felt fluid! GG

Thanks! :)

This is fun and simple to get into.  I was terrible at first, but got the timing after a few tries.  Nice Job!

Developer

Thanks a ton for playing! :)

At first I felt this is hard. Then I realized I can just stay at the bottom and move only left and right :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Good feedback - I probably should have added a threat that makes the lower half of the screen a bit more dangerous!

Submitted

Pretty fun and engaging! It would be cool to see a visual indication of which direction you're charging up the air balloon. Nice stuff!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Also, thanks for the feedback on that - this was actually something I was considering doing but I ran out of time. I'd like to polish it up a bit after the jam and will add this to the list of things to work on!

Pretty straight forward game. I liked the movement happening on button release, it really gave the hot air balloon realistic movement. The background is really pretty too.

Developer

Thanks for playing; glad you liked the movement mechanic!

played it a bit. was fun

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoyed your time with it!

Loved the parallax and music and a unique movement mechanic!

Can't believe you made the birds blow up on contact with the barrels 😂😂

Great job with this!

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked that goofy little interaction between the threats!

This was a nice game, I could imagine it could be a nice game for spending time in a waiting room or something like that! Sort of like the Chrome dinosaur game :D

Developer

Thanks, that's definitely the vibe I was going for. Glad you enjoyed your time with it!

Nice art and interesting movement mechanic. Great job!

Developer

Thanks a ton for trying it out. Glad you enjoyed the movement mechanic!

Cool air mechanic and lovely music and art!!

Developer

Thanks for playing! :)

Beautiful parallax and nice ambience. I like the absurdity of the setting :D The controls are quite original as well, although they are a bit challenging to get used to in the beginning.

Thanks for making it!

Developer

Thanks, glad you had a good time with it! I think introducing the player to the mechanics is something I will try to improve on in future projects; the feedback is much appreciated!

What sell me is the graphic, the background give me such a vibe that I fascinated in every possible way

Developer

Thanks, yeah I was super happy with the background when I found it - the creator made a bunch more awesome free assets, be sure to check them out if you like their stuff! https://free-game-assets.itch.io/free-sky-with-clouds-background-pixel-art-set
