Not bad for as first time with the engine. But going forward alt is a bad choice for a control because its part of operating system shortcuts.

Nice artwork. The controls feel a bit off, but im used to wasd for move and right hand does the rest.
Another nice entry to this game jam

Nice job using a new engine and releasing a game at the end! I have to say the music loop was starting to get a tad bit annoying the longer I played, and the controls took some time getting used to them. However, good job regardless working in Godot. The art style has its own charm too :)

Well done!

Nice artstyle! Cool pause menu and particle system on the portals.

For us it was also the first time with godot, so good job. We can definitely get some inspiration from your project.

The custom drawn graphics are a lot of fun. Those poor bees!

Nice job.

My one criticism is the looping music track was very short for how long it goes.  A longer track or even a different track in the more dangerous areas would have been welcome.

Awesome project; amazed that it's your first made with godot! I found the projectile shooting enemies to be a bit tough to deal with since they took out my health so quickly but I had a blast with it!

Good job learning Godot! I unfortunately, was playing on a Macbook instead of Windows, which makes the Alt/Z/X/Spacebar control combo really uncomfortable for the hand, but I made do (at least until the bees showed up). Graphics were lovely to look at!

Excellent start. The soundtrack was a bit annoying after a while, but your artwork was very fun.

Valid take! I def needa read up on some music theory.

Congrats on this submission! Crunching a project on a game engine that is new to you is no easy feat. The graphics were cute and reminded me of old HTML5 games I used to play.

As far as feedback, an easy addition that would be nice is adding some basic SFX for things like taking damage, firing, killing enemies, etc. Stuff like this really helps communicate to the player what's going on in addition to the visuals! They don't have to be major, you can just record yourself going 'pew-pew' or 'ouch' and that would work  :)

Nice entry, although buggy what really matters is you delivered a game. It's great to see other fellow Godot gamedevs here. Good job!

You wrote that this was your first game made on Godot, and if so, you should be very proud! Sure the game has some issues, but if this was your first game and you made it by yourself in a month, this is really impressive.

I love the art style, it really reminds me of old Flash-based games. The controls caught me off guard though, I have never seen anyone put jump on Alt :D

Submitted

Cool entry! Took me a while to get used to the controls, overall a nice little game.

Submitted

Nice game, but it took me a while to realize you can dash upwards to get to the higher platforms. Perhaps you should consider making the tutorial icons a bit clearer!

Anyway, congrats on your submission!

Submitted

Nice entry! I got at a level (i think it was level 4), where I wasn't able to jump high enough to reach the upper platforms. Otherwise, nice job!

Submitted

More sound effects would be a nice addition for some actions such as attacking or jumping.

Submitted

Cute submission. Definitely needs tighter controls, but everything ran well.

Submitted

Great job getting a game submitted! Hope you enjoyed working with Godot!

A very cute game, I love the art for it but the keybindings are very weird, alt + z opens some of my overlays which is a bit problematic if i want to jump dash. Had a lot of fun though!

Submitted

Love the feel of your game, had trouble getting used to the keybindings for jump and things, but was really fun fighting off the bees! great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and kind words!! I am now realizing that it maybe isn't so intuitive to bind jump on the alt key, haha.
