I liked the timer and the various involved resource.

Top marks for originality haha. I feel like the dev behind this is basing things from person experience. Solid movement mechanics, combat style that felt unique to me (I'm quite new to the genre), looks good, good sound design. Love it.

This gave me a good laugh and had a neat system on top of it.

I think after a few encounters I was starting to get tired, but then when I had more practice and started getting 2 or 3 'No thanks' in quick succession, it became pretty addictive!

Edit: Itch had a bug / sorry for the triple-post hahaha

Wow very original and funny concept! The voice acting is good, the music fits well, the game is quite beautiful, and the gameplay is pretty fun. Nice job!

I think my machine is maybe too low spec for this as I could only get it to turn around twice and couldn't move forward. The art style was cute though and it looked like a good concept, just couldn't get it to work my side - sorry!

Developer

Sorry about the performance issues! It's a common problem that everyone who tried the game noticed... And I ran out of time to fix it when I noticed. :(

I'll try to fix it once submissions reopen!

Cool idea, good job. The postpro effects were too much for me.

i really liked this one. its different and shows a different perspective/take on the genre.

the sales associates were a bit "stepfordy" so was mildly creepy, but that's not a detractor... those people really ARE creepy.

i wound up peeing on the floor.

I like this one. If executed with a little bit more uh.. finesse, this could be a really fun and cute "dungeon crawler". Still, well done :)

Developer

Thanks! :)

I'm thinking of making a post-jam version, but I don't know what specific things need to be changed. What can I add to improve the execution?

HostSubmitted

The core concept is really cool and I can relate. I have been to Philippines several times and this is how I feel when I visit the malls :D Also, my wife is from Philippines and she go nuts every time there's 50% off or any promos :D

There could be things which makes the trip to the toilet more interesting. You could have various items/pickups to reduce stress or mitigate stress increase when talking to sales ladies. Maybe a bottle/can pickup (Cobra/Battery?) that you can drink to give you an advantage when talking to the sales ladies but increases your pee level. The amount of these could perhaps be tied to a difficulty level. Maybe a pickup that lets you skip the next sales lady completely. Maybe a snake or spider or something :) Would also be nice with procedural/random mall level with increasing difficulty and maybe your pickups/items could carry over the next level.

The performance issue has been mentioned. I have a rather beefy PC so the game ran OK for me but I can understand that others have big problems with it. Fixing that would help a lot!

I really enjoy the "combat" style and overall you did a great job with the concept and considering it's a 7 day jam the execution isn't bad either :)

Becides the fact that "dungeoncrawlers in a shop" is a terribly unoriginal idea.. ;)

Nice menu design, (could use a volume slider ;) ) funny loading screen. Movment is a bit jarring, sounds are jarring (but I like how they effectively work as a dreamscape type thing). The combat system is interesting, but the salesladies have perhaps too much health. Good voice acting, if a little repetetive. Effectively communicates the concept you wanted to, which is great! Well done, shame about the performance issues.

Developer

The voice acting was my favorite part to make, so I'm glad you find it good!

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't know much about how to polish games yet, so I overlooked things like volume sliders and stuff... But I'll be sure to add them to the post-jam version. (I'll also balance the saleslady strength and smooth out the motion, too!)

Also, sorry about the performance issues, I kinda got carried away in the last hour of the jam and put too many lights and effects...

An engaging experience, a commentary on the modern reality, a perfect example that games can be art.

Just kidding. All attempts at humor crash and burn due to very poor performance and design oversights. If you want to make your game reaction-based, at least make sure it doesn't run this poorly.

Thanks for trying it.

I only noticed the performance issues when I played the final build. It's not so bad in debug mode, so maybe it's got something to do with my test resolution being much smaller and me being really inexperienced with 3D (specifically the bad decision of adding the lights at the last moment, without realizing that lights really kill performance if I don't bake it in the textures).

My experience with the dungeon crawler genre isn't that expansive, too, since I only learned about the genre during the jam. The gameplay needs work since I do acknowledge that it's not very fun to play and really repetitive, and the theme of my game isn't in line with what a person expects with the dungeon crawler genre.

I just wanted to make a game to practice 3D.

My excuses aside, I'm sorry for wasting your time. I'll try to make a better  game next time.

I like originality in the genre and you get points for that, but I hope you've learned a lot during the jam and your next game will be much better. :)

Hahaha I really like the background of this game, the voice of the saleslady really annoys me(in a good way) It makes me want to pee during the whole time lol.

But, the game has a big problem in performance, my laptop is roaring and the game is Super laggy. I think it might because of the engine but I'm not sure.

So I didn't finish it since I feel my laptop will explode soon but I really like the idea!

Developer

Sorry about the performance problems! I made a (not so wise) decision to slap on some 3D lights before I did my final build and upload, and only realized that lights kill performance when I tested it after the deadline. (I had no idea the lights would make it so laggy.... I guess my inexperience with 3D shows, hehe.)

But I'm glad you like the idea! The voice acting was my favorite part to do!

Ah, I'll try to fix it when the submitting system isn't locked anymore (which will be in a week, I think).
