This is the first game (apart from my own) that defaults to numpad movement and I love it! +1

Very cool game with tons of potential. I noticed a bug in the movement where you didn't go straight forward to next grid but a little bit offset/diagonally to left or right.

Overall it seems solid. Well done :)

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Yeah, that little bug was because the dead mobs still count as occupying the grid and you sort of move around to avoid them, hah. I've fixed this bug since. Definitely going to finish what I started here.

Very solid game with already a bit of everything, I killed the beast and returned to the village and now I want more, obviously.

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! I'm already working on actually finishing the thing, though it'll be a short while :D Whilst trying not to let the feature creep in, it still does need a few features

I really like the Might and Magic-style feel to fights but found this very hard, possibly due to lack of feedback currently during combat. Nice graphics and good story too!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Feedback about combat noted and it's being improved on for post-jam releases

Impressive amount of world building given the time limit! I like the style of the game, but would echo some other comments I see here regarding the proximity of enemies during combat - shame to have nice models so far from the camera!

I found the way the player slips into an unoccupied space on the grid an interesting way for the dead mobs to still retain a set place, but in practice being unaligned from the centre felt strange, I'd rather walk on the dead goblins face and stick nice and central I reckon!

Nice work :)

Thanks for taking the time to play it! I've adjusted the grid behavior and camera positioning for post jam releases. Lots of good feedback!

I love the graphical thing of subtly baking the grid into the environment with those grass tiles, looks really cool. Gameplay wise it felt a bit disconnected at times, could possibly benefit from an effect when you hit/get hit, and being closer to the enemy during combat. I love the fact that you got some narrative in there, though. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Thank you for the feedback as well, working through it for future updates :D

The graphics are really impressive and you managed to add in a lot of functionality in the game jam - really well done.

It ran really slow on my machine (which could just be my problem) which took away from the experience with the movement being that slow, but I played through the whole quest and I was satisfied at the end that I managed to beat the beast. The end message that the lord will see you but that is as far as you got in the jam made me giggle.

Well done though!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Really means a lot to me that you got to the end. Yeah, it's not optimized at all, definitely something I'll be improving on post-jam

The graphics are appealing. It make me want to explore and know more about the story. The fights lack of feedback and enemies are too far during the battle.

A few issues but overall I quite enjoyed myself. It definitely grew on me the more that I played and I hope to see it developed further.

i died pretty quickly, but this is a very pretty game. unfortunately i could not play it on stream, as it was a stream killer game.

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Awww, hopefully my future versions will be better and more stream-friendly

Very pretty game! Unfortunately the text on the bottom of the screen doesn't scale and it was super tiny, also hovering the mouse on items in the inventory made the tooltips flicker uncontrollably. Despite that, it was pretty cool!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Yeah, there was not a lot of testing done, thanks for pointing out these bugs. What resolution are you playing on?

Submitted(+1)

I was played at 3840x2160 on Windows 10.

This game is very impressive. However, the combat is not fun at all, especially when enemies always have the first attack whenever you approach them, and always feels like mashing the 'A' button until it's over. Also, the map design feels off, with obstacles that don't look like obstacles at all (e.g. small bumps on the road), making the navigation more tedious.

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Feedback about combat noted and it's being improved on for post-jam releases. Also I realize the map needs tidying. Bit off more than I can chew there with the map design for the limited time I had.

Looks really good. I am impressed with the art and the verbose descriptions are great. I found the realtime combat to be a bit fast and would have preferred if it was turn based. I ran into a bug when I died. It restarted the game, but I couldn't move.

Thanks for taking the time to play it! Feedback about combat noted and it's being improved on for post-jam releases. Combat has definitely been made turn-based.
