I used bgb emulator and it ran perfectly. Combat was fun. Love the gameboy graphics of course. Would be nice with a nice music track. Really impressive, make more!
good job getting this on a gameboy, and by gameboy i mean emulator.
a bit bleepy, but so was the gameboy to be fair.
It is super cool you managed to make a gameboy game for this jam!
The graphics are nice and functional and it's a clever solution to have faraway tiles disappear into darkness. I really liked the smileys on enemies during combat, it made it very easy to see what their health and status was.
I did wander around a bit too aimlessly and get lost - I think a map would be great as I'm just not committed enough to making my own on grid paper these days. Some nice gameboy music would also be really cool, but I know this can be tough to implement and something like LSDJ use up most of the gameboy's power when playing songs.
Impressive to have a crawler on a gameboy. Some music would be nice, though.
Fun game, finding the final boss was cool, took me a while, it also killed me once.
Very cute gameboy dungeon crawler. Fun and fast paced for a turn based crawler, doesn't waste your time with extra animations and delays. The graphics are awesome. Great technical achievement.
I did get hopelessly lost though, but that's on me. Also couldn't tell if doors stay open or not or I just wasted my key going through the same door twice. But again, being lost is probably on me :D
For those who want to try it on their PC, grab an emulator here https://bgb.bircd.org/#downloads
The doors stay opened even after death. I didn't had time to add a compass so it can be hard to navigate. You can use the AREA LEVEL information has a reference: the more your at south-east, higher is the AREA LEVEL (the TOWN is basically level 0, no encounter, and is north-west).
Did you manage to find the final boss ?
Do you have a Windows version of this game?? I want to try it because the visuals look beautiful!
try getting an emulator here https://bgb.bircd.org/#downloads
