Felt very complete, plenty of narrative and instruction, nice choice of art style.
The combat system is nice, I enjoyed the battle camera movements, the variety of spells and the random AP mechanic. I think the environments are nice, though maybe something is missing in the dungeon crawler aspect when there aren't walls. I think I didn't have a feeling that I could get lost. Maybe that's what you wanted though, and in that case good! Overall the game is very well put together with an impressive level of polish.
some smoother transitions between different tile types would be nice, but i managed to make it around and kill the dragon.
Loved the randomized number of action points.
Very detailed game overall, the monsters look pretty good.
Charming dialogue and impressive visuals. Text scroll could be faster or when you click it completed the text animation rather than skipping to next line.
The camera point of view is pointed downwards quite far, which I came across a similar problem when making my game. We increased the FOV of the camera a bit so you can still see what's on the floor.
The combat sequence is pretty cool, and impressive for the short time period. Monsters phasing through the floor when you kill them... well, it's a game jam!
The dice rolling on the screen is cool; the music transitions are also good.
It's good that combat is turn based, it especially works for a game jam where fumbling with a new game's systems can easily kill you through overwhelm-ment.
Having tile based random combat makes balancing difficult, but the upgrade system gives you a good way to play on!
Thank you so much for your detailed feedback, it's really useful! Glad you liked the game :)
Now THAT'S what I call feedback. Thank you so much for taking the time to write that and playing our game.
Very fun game, and I like the AP system and the ability to absorb spells from enemies. Unfortunately, the balancing of said spells feels a bit off. I hope you'll continue working on this.
Thank you for playing, glad you liked it! Yeah, the balancing was definitely the hardest part, it could have needed an entire week of work on its own.
