Nice atmosphere and fun factor! It's pretty hard to play, but that could likely be improved with more playtesting, especially by others. My suggestion is: when you don't have time to perfectly balance the game, try steering it toward an easier difficulty. I believe it's better for players, in these scenarios, to be able to play and finish the game (even if they find it a bit easy), rather than giving up early because it's too difficult.

Thanks for your feedback! I definitely made the game way too hard, this was actually my first ever game jam and I didn’t have enough time for playtesting. I only had one other person playtest it, and while he found it tough but manageable, I now realize I should’ve made the game way easier. This is definitely something I’ll keep in mind for my next jam!

Cool game. Really like the premise and absurdity of the whole thing, building a flesh tower and avoiding the cops is great. Gameplay-wise I found it pretty frustrating. Having to start over from scratch every time you fail made me not complete the game. It'd be nice if there was some way to drop the meat after you pick it up, if you've been spotted while you have meat I wasn't ever to ditch the cops even if I went and deposited it. Maybe some indication of what the cops detection area was would make the game less frustrating to play. Overall Nice work!

Thanks for playing! I admit that I made the game a bit too hard, I will definitely tweak the difficulty once the jam is over. I also agree that I made it way too hard to evade the cops once they spot you. I wish I’d had more time to flesh out the gameplay, but I’ve planned a couple of updates after the jam!

Nice one. Pretty hard. My best is 4 meater (pun intended) high tower. But I assume that was the goal to make the game challenging so no complaints here.

The hell you have build has nice atmosphere (if one can say it about hell). :-)

Running thoughts:

  • Interesting premise
  • The tutorial is a little bit of a knowledge dump. I would have started it out with what humans and what demons are. Then, once you kill your first human, the rest of the tutorial
  • Killing and picking up being the same button makes it a little hard to do like a path, to escape, because double pressing it falls apart
  • Don't like that my base isn't safe from the demons if I have meat. And it appears like they can get stuck in the tower building area
  • I think you have the bug I had, where you were removing focus on the end of the game, and it kinda glitches the browser. However, this bug made me play for 30 more minutes or so, so I think it was in your favor

Overall, strangely addictively unfair. It felt like the enemies nearly always catch me if spotted, but I found a few exploits in their pathfinding, such as the fair atm near the employment center allowed me to explore a lot of the game mechanics. Also, the red on red did make it hard to see and process what was going on sometimes.

I agree that the game still needs a lot of work. You’re correct that killing and picking up should use a different button, I also had a bit of trouble with this while testing the game myself.

I actually did want to make the base a safe zone, but didn’t have enough time to implement it, if I had implemented it on time the tower wouldn’t have pathfinding issues.

 I will look into the bug you mentioned and see what causes it, and what I need to fix.

I admit that the enemies could feel a bit overpowered and inconsistent at times, but after a couple of rounds it should get easier to evade them. 

I totally agree that the color scheme could use work, as red on red wasn’t my best choice. I was having trouble with deciding colors, as it still needed to feel like hell.

Nice game! I love the concept, its a unique interpretation of the theme for sure. I also like the general vibe and humour throughout. It would be cool if you took the stealth mechanic to the next level and allowed the player to lose the cops / demons by hiding for a while of something. I can see that you're aware of the lag, and I'll try and find time to give the windows version a go once I've finished going through the other submissions. For me the next step to add more polish would be to upgrade the UI a bit, but other that, all good, I had fun playing.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! You can actually evade the cops by staying outside their range for 10 seconds, it's just really hard to do. I hope the Windows version runs better for you! I agree that the UI needs an upgrade, I focused more on other features to get it done in time for the jam. I appreciate the feedback!

Cool game, killed a lot of people but got caught most of the times. Sometimes it felt laggy, but other than that it was fun :D I got a bit dizzy when the cops caught and I faced the "Got caught" screen. Other than that, great work!

Hey, thanks for playing! Glad you had fun causing chaos (even if you got caught alot). I’m aware of the lag and am trying to fix it, it might lag less on the windows build if you download it. I’ll take a look at the lose screen to see if I can make it less disorienting!

Distracting the cops is so funny. Love the "Got caught" screen where the cop is dancing.

Game is pretty cool and it's definitely one of the more unique ones here but it was lagging a lot. The audio was also pretty funny. Good job!

Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, I did some small optimizations and also released Linux and Windows builds. They should hopefully run a bit smoother. The audio was one of my favorite parts of the game, I had a lot of fun recording those voice lines!

Game is fun. Idea is nice (well you understand in what way).  Ai is good, but blind (i assume it is intentional). Also there is a question: Why are there cops in hell? For people not to do bad things? Are cops also bad? If yes, why won't they join our plan? If no, why are they in hell?

Also game lags really bad. I'm not the only one who was in hell. My computer was screaming for mercy the whole time.

Hey, glad you enjoyed the game! I made the AI blind on purpose. I wasn't sure about there being cops in hell, and was thinking about renaming them to "demons". I've also done some optimization, so the game should run better now!

The animations and AI are rly well done! Love the music, and the controls felt pretty intuitive to me. My game was lagging a bit but other than that, this was a blast! Nice work!

I think its great you had a cohesive theme - even with the soft gore theme's really its just a bit silly which is great. I felt a bit stupid until I saw the big sign telling me where the tower was.

I realy enjoyed playing this game! Its a very creative interpretation of the theme and I think it has a lot of polish to it! I espacially liked the effect when you get low on stamina.

Pretty funny game lololol, Initially I didnt know where to build the tower, but after looking up at that very unsuspicious sign, I found out about the big mouth. Good job!
