i liked a ton the general idea and the theme integration, basically how you moved tiles in a tower and rised up each time you completed each level, joined with the “power the tower” theme in the story with a robot casually also named T.W.R! great puzzle game! although i did get stuck at level 7 - i didn’t know what i was supposed to do. sad i only saw your post about nickbdawg’s VOD after closing the game for rating ç¬ç
hi! i saw your comment and tried to beat the game one again as you suggested, with this promised ending, and i’m glad i did!
the first time i’ve played this game, i thought it as a puzzle, but now that i’ve beaten it, i see it’s more about timing and precision. this mindset change allowed me to win, but with lot of determination, as this last run took me nearly an hour with half my deaths from the last level. congrats! your game is the first one in the jam (and probably will be the only one) to make me rage 🤗.
but when i beated the last level, i got a lot of satisfaction, specially with that final cutscene ^^ i enjoyed the game a lot and i think it’s definitely going to be one of the jam’s winners 🙂
(PS. I also noticed how well the sound design is compared to other games in the jam. i didn’t notice it because i had the game on mute until the last level when i realised the lasers were actually in sync with the background sound, and help me go through it better. awesome work!)
The visuals and audio look/sound really good. They combine very well to give a kind of creepy ambient. Game play wise is creative. Great job
Interesting to use Jenga as a tower and using it to block laser. Wished the walking platforms don't randomly disappear though.
Check out @nickbdawg (creator of Croakiana Jones) on twitch. He’s been streaming game jam submissions!
For anyone getting stuck, especially Level 7 onwards, see how Nick got it done in this video.

He starts playing PWR the TWR around 1hr53 into this video.
Great puzzle game, the idea is cool, i got to level 7 but i was stuck x) (I moved the agent with a purple bloc)
I like the atmosphere you've made with only sfx and post processing (post processing i think ?)
I put the agent where the red square is, then i pushed the wall (where the purple square is) toward us, in the point of view of this photo (so i pushed from behind). After that, the agent was permanently "transparent-blue" (like when u collect something) and couldnt move anymore
I might be mistaken maybe i didnt fully understand what happenned
Will certainly try again it was quite fun
Aha yes! Thank you so much for taking the time to so clearly describe & illustrate what happened. I can see exactly what is going on.
1. When T.W.R is hit by a purple block, it gets deactivate (so the physics doesn't fight with the ai navigation) and the T.W.R gets pushed off the platform to their death.
2. In a previous iteration of the game "the bridge" (floor tile between you and the red square in your screenshot) would turn off once you crossed, and only turn back on once you'd collected all 4 orbs. Therefore there was always a gap around the platform during the round that the player could get pushed off of and fall to their death.... the T.W.R would be destroyed, the level rest, and then the player was reactivated.
3. Due to a bug where "the bridge" tile would occasionally not turn back on, leaving the newly respawned T.W.R stranded, i decided the simplest solution was to prevent it from turning off in the first place......
4. What i didn't foresee was the scenario that you discovered below, whereby the player pushes that purple block, which hits T.W.R, deactivates it, but never falls of the platform to get reset... hence why it remains disabled and you find yourself alive but unable to move.
Thanks again for pointing this out. Once the jam is over, I'll be sure to make it the first thing I fix!
Hello there, I thought the idea was very different, but I think it needed to be communicated because certain things happened, like the floors disappearing.
Really cool game! I like the concept and it's fun to push the jenga tower around. I enjoyed how difficult it got towards the end, the last level took me a good number of attempts to beat. Visually I think the game looks really cool. I think the only thing I didn't like were the floor tiles disappearing sometimes, it made me kill myself with the autopathing, maybe a warning indicator that a tile was about to disappear would be good, or maybe I just didn't understand how to know when the ground would go away. Regardless I really enjoyed my playthru and think this is a super cool entry, great work!
Hey, yes I just watched back your live steam, and loved watching you play, learn patterns and react. I take your point about the floor tiles disappearing. Originally I intended for you to be able to climb over the lower jenga blocks and use those to bypass any missing floor tiles and block horizontal lasers, but as the game evolved it was a feature that had to be dropped due to the time constraints… so I should probably have remove the disappearing floor tiles too until I go back and add new features in.
Thanks for taking the time to complete the game, and experience the whole thing.
I realy liked the effects you have used it makes it great looking! Also the game idea is pretty neat!
Great Work (keep it up)
Once I knew what I was doing, it was a really cool concept. I didn't make it all the way to end (level 7) but will come back to try and finish this when I have more time, as there is a good amount of content / challenge.
That was a lot of content, took me a bit to figure out what I was supposed to do, but this is one of the best games in the jam!
I really like this game! Especially the sound effects and the Visuals! Though sometimes the mouse doesnt match exactly where to push. But I like it a lot!
