Hi, so i played the game and now i'm gonna be commenting about it. This game is one of the most relaxing yet frustrating games i've played. It has chill and laid back art and music. Responsive controls and well made levels make this a solid entry. Cya!
Cool submission. The final sequence with red dots flying everywhere is reeeeally hard. Nicely done!
The idea is great, and like both visual style and the music. For me the game was way too difficult. Overall a good jam game. Well done.
Nice game bro... Real cool .. The music is also cool ... Good job :) Rated !
92 deaths! Great job on this game! I really like your interpretation of the reveal mechanic, and this one definitely fits the theme! I will say it didn't take me long to get my whole screen red, but that turned out to be pretty helpful. Awesome game! :)
This looks slightly similar to brackeys mechanics but funnier imho :D
Really enjoyed it and loved the colors/feel of the arts... It's fun and it feels good.
Great job :)
Hmm... Are you italian by any chance? I'm arranging a collection of italian submissions so if that's the case, please let me know and I'll gladly add your game to it :)
Thank you so much! Yeah I definitely see the resemblance with brackeys' game, it's basically the same mechanics but exploited a bit differently. And yep, I'm italian, I figured you were probably an italian team too when I saw the team members names on your submission page :)
Feel free to add my game to the collection, I'll keep tabs on your profile to see what our fellow developers are up to :) (also if you check out @MrMandolino's post just below, I'm pretty sure he's italian too)
Porca paletta, NICE. The only criticism I can offer is that sometimes the camera freaks out when I respawn and that after you die a bunch it basically turns into Super Meatboy since the circle mechanics disappears. Beside that, best game I've played so far in the Jam. 148 deaths!
(for some reason my submission doesn't show up in comments, you can try it at https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/476397)
Thank you so much for your kind words! I know the camera sucks but since it wasn't game-breaking and I was running out of time I just left it there. The main reason behind the final reveal was that I thought it could help less experienced player by dropping the difficulty a bit in case one gets stuck.
Furthermore, the main idea behind the game was that the world was a scarier, meaner place than it looked, and that by getting defeated over and over again, the player would realize it more and more. This eventually would push the character to give up its innocence completely and embrace the darkness of the world. I also created a "corrupted" version of the character that was supposed to replace the original one on the final reveal but didn't manage to sneak it in in time (that's the real reason why the revealed area is a ring instead of a circle, so that the character could remain innocent until the end).
Oh, and thanks for sticking until the end, I know it can be a bit frustrating so I'm really glad you were able to finish it :)
It feels better than Brackeys's game.
Good job!
Congratulations to @FabioMarocchi
A neat take on the reveal mechanic, I quite like how it makes you think as you move. Even as the circle gets bigger, you have to still be careful. One complaint I have is the hit boxes on the base of the saw blades.. why? It makes it very difficult to get past them.
First of all, thank you for trying my game and for your feedback. I thought of placing that hitbox at the base so that the saws could be used as platform on their own, without necessarily needing terrain under them. Eventually I think I only used them like that in one, maybe two places, so I guess could have removed the hitbox, but that was the initial idea.
The idea of revealing objects that are near by is a really cool and awesome and also innovative keep up the good work.
