were cool game, the idea of putting the theme into a story is a great idea
(first jam game with a story :) ) nice feeling gameplay loop
the art is alright, but it could be better, if you wouldnt have focused on that much varity
it is taking way to long to get back into action when you die, but thats about it for possible criticism

Amazing that you were able to put this together in 10 days! Loved everything about the game, maybe making the player a little faster would improve the experience, but this is amazing!

I am so curious about this game! Like it was made so well! What engine did you use? And man your understanding of timing, animations, music and story telling are top notch! one of the best games in the jam for me, if not the best so far! Thanks for that experience!
Thank you so much for your kind words, they certainly made my day better! I used Unity, in combination with a public, general-purpose library I've been working on called Licht (https://github.com/ConradoClark/Licht). I still have to set up a documentation for it, but the gist of it is that it has a different approach to coroutines and some tween helpers. It doesn't have a lot, and it's not that optimized, but it really helps me adjust timings and the overall orchestration of the game loop.
This took me a while to get through but I'm glad I played this. This was incredibly fun and for me at least really hard. You did really well with the mouse movement and I love the little story.

I liked everything. Very cool the idea of the fairy entering places. I also loved the way the window is split between text and action. I would like to see more interactions and objects. I don't understand what sparks are when you get close to bullets, is it just an effect? Super cool game, congratulations.
Thanks for playing! Oh, I should've explained it better. The sparks are a mechanic known in some bullet hells as "graze", which is getting super close to the bullets without touching them. In Faecula, getting graze fills your magic bar and allows you to consume it to slowdown time. You enable the "graze" ability by picking up the magic ball. So it's like a risk/reward thing, you can try to play more dangerously in easier patterns in order to have magic to slowdown time in the harder portions of the stage.

impressive game! I didnt get far into it however what i did play I enjoyed!, the mix of genre was also really interesting to see.
The fairy following the mouse is an interesting idea, however I think it needs alittle tweaking, it feels just a little too slow at times, and felt like i got hit acouple times without much i could do.
Otherwise a really cool little concept that i may even come back to in the future to try and finish!
Very original and nice entry! I liked the story aspect, even though I rarely play games with that much story. The visuals were amazing, sfx and music were proper good as well. There seemed to be some feedback on the controls though, for me it seemed that there is some acceleration time for the player movement, which I found very difficult to deal with in a bullet hell environment :D But overall, a fantastic experience!

The controls aspect you mentioned was one thing I was reeeally unsure about - using acceleration instead of making Fae follow the mouse speed. In my playtests it seemed fine, but I was somewhat worried that the movement delay would catch the players off guard.
Nice mix of genres
I like the point and click meets text adventure meets shmup concept, it's unexpected and it works really well.
The shmup segment controls well with the mouse and i like how you clearly had arrows sometimes indicating where the next pattern is going to appear. Sadly i couldn't manage to go very far as even the first segment got quite difficult for me :(
Regardless from what i managed to play the game is fun, and i like the alternating story, pont and click, and shooting bits, it makes for some good variety of gameplay.

Thank you so much for playing! I'm sorry that the first segment was a bit too hard haha. I think I've played it so so much during development and got so good at it that I got a little carried away. I'm glad the concept worked to some extent, I was thinking of something like this for awhile now and this game jam seemed like a perfect opportunity to try it.
This is amazing. I think I would need ten days just to get the opening done! I would love to see an undertale style game with this as a fighting system!
In other words, please expand on the concept!
