This game is one of the most complete and fun experiences in the jam! Is intense, action packed and used the theme to it's advantage to convey an interesting concept! On top of that controls are great, the sound is fantastic! Everything is very crisp! To be honest this is worth expanding and charging for!

Oomphh, looks amazing, but I keep getting my crosshair locked to the character and I can't aim
I played a little like this and looks really cool, the sprites and art direction are superb, and I thought the implementation of the theme was fun and creative. Please let me know if you can fix the aiming issue, i'd love to play the full game!

this game is just perfect, its mechanics work well, power ups to pass the level, shots, enemies, the concept of confined is very good, alias for me the best thing about the game was the sfx, I don't know if they were created originally , or if they were already ready, but even so they matched a lot with the game, they made it immersive, by the way, as far as I play there was only one song that was repeated, and despite having only one song, it was enough to give me immersion for the game

I actually worked on the SFX with PURE.
We are 2 sound designer and musicians, so all the SFX and musics are original creations made during this jam.
Maybe you haven't reached the 2nd zone, or maybe we did a great job with our transitions in the adaptative music, but there is in fact 7 music tracks in the game haha! They'll all be out soon to listen to :)

The background is interesting and charming. Too bad there's no context that brings the whole universe.
There's a tuto in the beginning that show us the mapping and that's useful and well done. It just lack a bit of explanation of the game mechanics. But everything becomes clear really easily.
The game is quite accessible in the beginning, but suddenly it becomes a "Die and retry" and god it's hard if you don't pick up all the power up.
At least there is some checkpoints to balance everything. (You should put one next to the toothed wheel)
The SFX is great and the music of the menu is awesome. The other ones are monochord and quite low in the mix. It gives an impression of background noise that does not pay tribute to the generative music system of the game. However that point is understandable due to the duration of the JAM.
Some pattern of monsters are really ingenious. The one that's teleporting needs a sign or a SFX that show us he's dealing damage, that's not really clear in the game.
This game is a must try. Except some default which are imputed to the JAM, that game really really deserve attention.
There is actually a context, but we didn't really have the time to develop it in game. Maybe we'll explore it later if we can :)
Yeah I get that it gets more difficult quickly, but it encourages the player to explore to get more upgrades. I guess the main issue is the 3rd area that is too long without a checkpoint.

For the music, it's actually mixed in a dynamic way, lowering down when enemies shoot at you so the player can focus on the action rather than the music. There is some issues concerning the time it gets to get back up tho.

Very clever implementation of the theme, and also interesting how your first choice of upgrade influences how you travel through the level and solve its puzzles. My main complaints however are how slow the player is (the +1 SPD upgrade is a blessing) and the existence of the instant kill laser hallway.
Yeah the instant kill laser may be a little much haha, but it's not that bad since you respawn at the start of the room (initially it was at the start of the previous room lol)
I agree that Andolink did a great level design with those different path that reward the player for exploring the levels, props to him!
The player is slow, but for fast travelling you can hold the spacebar to run. It wasn't told in game unfortunately, maybe we should have put a text somewhere for that.

Good game! its surprisingly long, with lots of content and upgrades! the final boss was decently interesting too! Problems however: Enemy bullets felt a bit hard to see and the entire game lacked a bit of polish. The music was great as well, loved the adaptive soundtrack, however it wouldve been nice if the music calmed down after youve killed all enemies in that area.

Not surprising considering what i remember from your previous "PL" game :)
Killer soundtrack, Cool looking sprites on those lovecraftian monsters, overall good art direction to sum it up.
Gameplay wise i like that this is keyboard/mouse for aiming cause when things get hectic the extra precision is very much welcome XD and i also like the way you made your custom difficulty selection where you can choose your hp and game difficulty separately.
Some of the negative points i personally found were that at first the mechanics to break free from the chains you get trapped onto can be a bit confusing to grasp, but it can be picked up quickly that you have to use enemies to break the links. And a tiny bit of inconsistency with checkpoints, having one right after the segment where the lasers chase you was cool, but then on the next segment i went on a long run and collected to upgrades clearing multiple rooms and when reaching the double large torso enemy bosses i die, but the checkpoint took me all the way back really far.
Now that said this doesn't detract from the general quality of the game, and it's really nice to have a more free roamingtype of game this time around, with the chain areas here to cleverly implement the theme without limiting the map too much.

Yeah it is a common issue we found that people can get confused at first with the mechanic, we thought that the start turrets would be clear enough but maybe we should add something to it (maybe a text)
Same for the 3rd level checkpoint, we'll probably work on it later :)

I liked the game, very well made and well polished, the maps are very big, I missed a mini-map to locate myself (but I know that in 10 days it's complicated). The mechanics of attaching the player to a chain is pretty cool too. The monster that makes teleport left me confused at some point, maybe some particle/effect was missing to make it clear that he teleported. Very cool game, congratulations.
Super polished game, congrats! Reminiscent of Nuclear Throne, or Alien Breed (showing my age!) Great soundtrack too. I found the camera a bit jerky maybe, the way it's tied to the target rather than the player, but that's very much nitpicking - great job!
This one easily puts me on the 5 star because of the audio, it's so good, I've known hellsnake for his audio anyway and he does a pretty darn good job at it, the gameplay is also very solid with the idea of having to be chained and letting the enemies break the chain for you, at first I found that confusing but damn it's great!
Wow ! This game is AWESOME ! The polish is crazy, the level design is really intelligen since the way are different if we take one or another upgrade. It's a bit difficult but checkpoints are here to help. Congrats to the team, you are amazing !
Wow this game is huge! Really nice visuals and gameplay, enemies and powerups reminded me of the metroid series. Very fun to play, and creative mechanics with the tethers. Good job!
