The game is nice and I like the graphics and mechanics but a few issues with the sound glitching and being endless otherwise nice game, I didn't know the fire was limited until level 3.
Hi, what kind of sound glitches did you encounter ? And what do you mean by endless ?
Also thank you for trying out my game
I meant once the sound would play it wouldn't stop for the rest of the game.
oh ok, I'll test it out and see now. Thanks for that info
Great game!
There's a looping sound in the background which was a little droning, and the charging up of the fireball wasn't very obvious, but once I got the timing down the boss was a cinch, nice one input gameplay and the gameboy visuals are neat!
Excellent alignment of the palette and the sound. Enjoyed the game and the easy controls. The charge mechanic was a bit hard for me to read at times. If I was trying to focus on what was ahead I didn't know if I was charged or not.
Good job making a simple 8 bit style game with one simple input! I just wish when you lose a level you can just retry it immediately instead of having to restart the whole game. I enjoyed playing, have a good little game here!
Great concept and nice game design. I was having a problem getting my fireball charged up to shoot. I would click and hold the left mouse button but it wouldn't shoot the fire ball. Thus I died too often. Maybe change it so that right click sends a fire ball instead? Nice work.
It's very simple and look the old school games that we love , 8bit sounds are great .
thanks a lot mate
I like the attention to various mechanics like the UI elements scrolling. Personally I think the music was a bit jarring (but considering the medium you were targeting possibly understandable!) and I felt it difficult to understand the various obstacles without dying too often and getting frustrated. I really liked the use of screen space and the attempt at hitting as many themes and objectives as possible - tough!
Thanks a lot for trying it out.
The idea for the main story is to try it out multiple times like how nintendo hard side-scrollers used to work. You're not expected to beat the final boss at your first try since how many fireballs you have for the final boss depends on how many hearts you manage to not lose in each level.
Makes sense!
Clever use of moving the UI elements to indicate that you're at the end of the map!
omg Adam Coster noticed me. Well thanks a lot~
It's more of a problem became a mechanic kinda situation. I didn't decide on how much I wanted to scale up the game so I didn't draw it as a UI and realized it became a nice indication for the level ending
Fantastic job making me feel like I was playing a game on my Game Boy. I was very happy to see this achievement announcement because I knew people would be brave enough to go for it! One question that I have about game play is the ability to dodge bullets or shoot down the bullets. I could not figure out how to get around that? Is there a way? Nice job on the jam!
Well you can't dodge bullets. You burn the bullets down. You just hold the left mouse button and when the icon changes on the witch to shoot the fireball.
Also thanks for trying it out. Cheers~
aaa... okay, I get it!!! Very super cool!
