This was nice to play! It's actually very similar to a game idea I had a while ago, so it was cool to see it.
For feedback, it feels way too easy, maybe add stronger enemies that spawn with bubbles. Also, I would definitely add diagonal movement.

This was cool to play. I like the idea here and after I got used to the controls they started to make sense. Lots of potential, like others have said.

A really cool concept and with some more polish would be really fun.  Some small things that could add a lot are better sprites/background, camera scaling with size, and difficulty increasing overtime.  Really cool game that has huge potential!

Ok, so this game is clearly far from finished, but it's probably the best concept I've seen in the jam so far. If I found this cleaned up in the app store I'd definitely download it, and maybe even pay for it. You should definitely keep working on this one. I think you're really onto something.

Developer

Really thanks <3 Happy to see that you liked it. I will surely work on it and make it better!

Fun game idea! You should try to add some wiggle to the bubbles for some nice game feel maybe even a popping animation and a rainbow-like background similar to what bubbles make.

There's not much more I can critique that hasn't already been said, but I will say it feels really difficult to take any damage and I think enemy bullets should be a different color. Could see this becoming really fun if you keep working on it though!

That was fun, reminded me of io games. I think the game could use something in the background, as at times it can be hard for the player to tell if their character is moving. I also think the game could use audio, it feels a bit weird having a menu sound and nothing else. Also, I would prefer it if the controls were explained when you start the game, rather than in the menu (but if you want to keep it there, please make the text bigger). I think this game could be really fun with online multiplayer, if you want to go that route. Great job!

Great concept and visuals! I have to agree with the others about the zoom and movement.

Submitted(+1)

Agree with Mariothedog that logarithmic zooming would be better & more natural (basically instead of adding/subtracting a constant to the zoom you multiply/divide it), and that diagonal movement would be nice, or maybe movement should perform acceleration (and not constant velocity) e.g. like on a real spaceship. The game also started lagging a little when I got about 15 guns on me. Nevertheless, the idea is very cool & it was real fun having so many guns and shooting all around, great job!

cool concept! I thought it was pretty cool that the enemies could have their own collection too, nice touch. At times the controls felt a bit unresponsive, but there was an impressive amount of content in this game, so well done!

a great implementation. i think this could become like those io games! you should go for it!

  • You can see some float precision issues with the zoom text, I’d suggest rounding it: https://gyazo.com/519300f2d5df4070677dc6fe0d77bd14

  • There’s no frame of reference when nothing else is on the screen so when the player moves you can’t actually tell that they’re moving

  • I was quite confused at first

  • The movement feels clunky as you can’t move diagonally

  • The shooting bubble seems a bit buggy in terms of position: https://gyazo.com/40bc3018e59e22a7cfabfd022f2f2a4d

  • The art is pretty clean

  • There should be a limit on how much you can zoom in/out. If you zoom out enough you can get into the negatives. I also think zooming would be better if it was scaled logarithmically instead

  • Some music and some more audio would be nice

Developer

Thanks for your in-depth thought about my game. I will make sure when I fully release the game, I fix all the problem you shared. Thank you so much, this is going to help me alot ❤️

awesome game design, but the game is quite lag when play a while though

Really enjoyed the game, making the bubbles stronger together! For some feedback, for a longer game jam you can create some art but the kenny assets work well with the game.

That was fun for sure!
