Great game, I liked the begining cutscene and music which have/are references to Star Wars. I also enjoyed the gameplay and the overall concept.

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!

Great game concept with funny characters, just wish it had better execution! It's really awkward having to go downstairs in order to rewind the tapes and all, wish that was a completly seperate scene / room to be more "detached" from the customers. Also when you go up to the stalls I really wish that only rewinded tapes were actually shown, took me a while to figure out that my tapes werent rewinded.

Anyways good job on the game, all around it was fun to play

Developer

Thanks for the observations.
I though of making separate lists of the current genre you have to put back, but then I realize it would make the game to simple. That's why I added the "Sort" button, so you can sort by what you need, for example, by Rewinded in case you're downstairs, to make it easier separate the already rewinded tapes, and by Genre upstairs. I missed the wrong sfx for the "not rewinded" or "not the correct genre" in the jam (already added) but I will take your suggestion and possible make something more visual in the UI with the not rewinded tapes.
Stay tunes for the update next week!

This game is really nice, although it was hard for me to understand how to place back the movies or how the menu that displayed the movie list. I think it is a really good game that may be a little confusing. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Yes, the tutorial was kind of incomplete without that thing you mention about the movie list (Tab key BTW)
I'm working on a big update with lots of improvements, including: better information about the controls, Shop/Upgrade system, new NPCs and a lot more fun.

Its amaizing how fun a game with such a simple mechanich can be, I couldnt stop playing it. Excellent job, perfect execution,

The only thing I didnt like is that i didnt found a use for the money, and level 1 is endless.

Overall, excellent game, Great Work :D

Developer

Thank you very much! Your words really mean a lot to me.
About the money and the level 1: yes, I run out of time, and preferred to add the main menu, intro, music and little small details in the last minutes (like the tutorial I made just 40 minutes before the deadline, never coded sooo fast in my life!)
But I'm working on a much better and fun version, with Shop/Upgrade system, better management of the VHS (not 100% "random" generated, but analyzed what the player needs), more NPCs, and a few more tweaks I'm sure you're gonna love it, so stay tuned!
You made an AMAZING and FUN game too! Congratulations!
Thanks again

Wow! I love the overall graphics and addictive gameplay loop! Great entry!

Developer

Thank you very much! Yours is great too! Congratulations

Submitted(+1)

wow i really impress.. the game feels so good. it actually trap me lol. Overall great game. But... the pacing of the game is slow, i never really lose. so i dont know if you can lose. picking up the pace would make it better or putting a difficulty setting. but i really like the way the controllers slowly but steadily sink into my brain. i can i see you work really hard on this. congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words! Yes, right now it became very repetitive and there's nothing to do.
I'm working on a big update to make it more fun. Add Shop/Upgrade system, improve the way the VHS spawn, so you don't finish with LOTS of Action/Adventure/Comedy movies. Also the difficult will ramp. And I'm planning some ending too! Stay tuned!

Amazing concept! Loved it. Do check out my game too. I just need 2 more ratings to reach 20. Thanks!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much. Glad you like it!
Just finished your game. Rated and reviewed. You're on 21 reviews now!

Submitted(+1)

Thank you for that!

Submitted(+1)

Neat concept  for a game.I loved how bob looks he seems like a nice dude :D.My problem is that tha game feels a bit repetitive is there a goal to reach? or we are doing it endlessy? I would like to play this game post jam to see what it became :D Overall nice work!

Developer

Thank you! Yes, he's a cool dude!
I'm afraid you're absolutely right. It's endless by now, no final goal, and no use of the money. I'm working right now in a new update to make it much more fun, with upgrades and other stuffs.
I played your game . It's really funny!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun and a very cool theme, Bob is a nice dude

Developer

Thanks! Yes, he's a cool guy who loves what he does. And with the new update coming soon, he'll love it even more!

Cool intro and cool game!

I like the art style of it, and I could see it developing into one of these tycoon games. It fits the style of a tycoon game very well. But there's still a lot of work to be done, but you are working on it.

Because it's still so undone, I can't give too much feedback. The movement was surprisingly good, though. Just navigating between all the shelves was a bit difficult. Maybe space them out more? Well, and a simple touch I would have loved would be parodies of the movie names. That can be really funny.

Anyway, the game looks promising. Good luck with updating it!

Developer

Thank you very much for your review! Yes, there's a lot of room for improvements that i'm working on it. I don't think I made it before this weekend due to personal issues. But as soon as I finish it, I'll publish.
About the movie parodies: yes, I thought of that, cause right now I can 't make money of it, except I'll like to be sued by the film companies lol.
With all the improvements i'm doing, I will seriously consider the idea. Thanks again

Submitted(+1)

Wow your game is amazing. I really like the idea and the environment. Had a lot of fun playing it! Good job :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm working on the upgrade system, and tweaking things to make it more fun.
Your game is awesome too!

Got my blockbuster on!

Developer

Yeah! But this one doesn't bankrupt! Thank for playing!

Hey, I played it, and I think it's too far the best game about rewinding vhs in this jam.

I liked the idea, and this nostalgia about our old good films ( and  I felt in love with cinema before falling  in love with video games); I liked also the very rhytmic gameplay. This last point lead to another one which annoy me: the game is too slow, due to lag. Iknow that this may be caused by developping it for the web. You should have known for that, but ok it' a jam... I, unfortunatly, got an error that made the game freeze completely, and that ruined my experience. Some other details are good, like the design, and graphics with the good using of blender... It will be infinitely  better if you optimize it ,i'm looking forward for it!

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words!
Unfortunately I had some issues when exporting to WebGL. It was my first 3D game in WebGL in Itch.io. I didn't know I need to tweet some thing before uploading. Big problem was I realized this just a few hours after the Jam ends, and had a lot of visual things I had to do by that time, plus the music (ended composing just 3 hours after the deadline) so I decided to add the Quality level on the main menu to at least try to make it playable on lower end systems. But it was a patch more than a real solution. Of course in the unity editor it works like charm. But as I said, some tweaking will do for the big Update coming after the rating period ends.
Thanks again and congratulations on your game too!

Awesome game, mate! I enjoyed the gameplay, and the 3d models were satisfactory (ore than I could every have done lol) The intro in the beginning was quite fun as well. Though the music was not very good, the SFX was.

Developer

Thank you! Yes, I'm proud of the 3d models, looks like 2 years watching Blender tutorials finally come useful!
Agreed with you about the music. Definitely wasn't the best part. I wasn't inspired at all, and wrote it just 3 hours before the Jam ends.
Thanks again and congratulations on your game!

Submitted(+1)

Nice graphics and sound, but it quickly started to fell repetitive to me. The inventory system seems good, but maybe (not sure how) there might be a way to move around it quicker than using the arrows. Also, level 1? There are levels? In summary, there seems to be space for improvement :)

Developer

Thanks!
Totally agreed with you about the improvement. And that's what I'm working during this rating period. Run out of time for implementing the level and economy/shop/upgrade system. Please check again later. There's a major update coming after the jam ends!

Very fun game!I enjoyed the art style and the music of the game.  The models and animations were impressive, given the fact that you only had a week developing this game. I kind of felt like the game felt a little repetitive, I just wish there could've been more action and mechanic involved. But again, considering you've made this high quality models and animations within a week, I also can't really expect variety of mechanics.

Overall impressive work! Well done!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! It's nice to see others value the effort during such short time period (wish I could "rewind" to correct some thing LOL)
But yes, you're correct. It's very repetitive, also kind of addicting game. That's why I'm working on a big Update to exploit that repetitive pattern, adding more fun to the gameplay (or at least that's my goal).
Thanks again. And congratulations on your game! Great work.

Interesting game, it's a bit confusing at the beginning but when you learn the controls and mechanics turns into a really cool experience. Nice!

Thank you very much!

Nice graphics, good concept and could be built upon nicely.

A nice  game, but the goal of the game wasn't very clear. Loved the animation. Some form of tutorial level would be nice. A great game overall.

Developer(+1)

Yes, there's no goal right now. It's endless. Will be a final goal in the future update, plus upgrade and shop system, and a lot more of cool stuff.
Thank you for your comment!

Submitted(+1)

I'm sorry but this game wasn't fun for me. I played for some time and was wondering why I never lost then I read Dr Umbrus comment and your answer and realized there was no ending. It felt a little tedious but I'm sure with the improvements you are working on it will be much more fun. And I think the character controlled really well :)

Developer(+1)

Yes, I understand your point. After you understand the mechanic, there's no challenge right now. I'm exactly working on that part now. Find a good middle ground of how many vhs the customers return, which genre they return, how many of them are left on each stand, etc.
Plus the upgrade system will be a huge improvement from the actual state.
Thank you for your comment!

I just saw your Twitch streaming. Thank for playing man!
