The concept is very simple, but the game is still pretty fun! I also liked the minimalist-style graphics, although the weapon sprites didn't really fit well with the rest, in my opinion.

Thanks! This time i tried something a bit different with the models. We are planning on releasing a new version, with some bugs fixed. And some of the weapons are unreachable after a rebalance we made late in development.

The game works well and is fun to play! Your concept seems unique as well. I loved the music and the starship art style, but in my opinion the backgrounds don't really fit that well. I also had a small issue where i'd have to constantly reselect the bay i wanted to use. Nice submission :)

yeah, it's a bit annoying, but we did it that way to drag the player away from enemy spawnpoints (sometimes we messed up the spawnpoints tho)

Thanks! Me and Walkan have already rated yours, and i don't think the other guys have time to rate any games, unfortunately. You saved us from not getting the score, thank you for the feedback and the 20th rating!

Thank you! I agree, the balance is a little off.  We haven't really experienced any lag, but with that many particles, it's quite possible.

> I have found that "shop menu" that board place that it's quite too high in the way player walks there

Could you please explain further? I don't think I understand what you mean.

Thanks for the feedback!

we need just one more rate :) https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-6/rate/1177763

This is the first game I've seen where you actually clean up the chaos, instead of just letting it be! Interesting approach, although it gets repetitive after 3 levels. I found this game to be oddly relaxing for some reason, and also reminded me of an old abandoned project of mine.

hey! I've checked out your game, here is ours :)

Nice entry! I found some weird bugs though (like clipping through some of the walls). Also sometimes I had no idea what was shooting at me.

that's fair. Still, great job on finishing it, although i did not beat it, it was still fun!

I'm not sure why i lost but I had lots of fun nevertheless. I laughed hard seeing the people walk, it really reminded me of Warsaw past 10pm lol. I'm kinda curious, are you using some kind of an active ragdoll system?

The music was nice, and the game was pretty interesting. There were some problems, however.

  • I found it really hard to attack the enemies
  • They would just gang attack me and i'd die for no apparent reason sometimes
  • Player sprite doesn't fit the rest visually

Other than that, it's a nice submission to the jam!

here's ours! we're at 18 ratings, and I'll make sure to rate some of the games posted here :)

I suck at bullet hell games, but I liked this one nevertheless. The only critique I have is for the art - it doesn't really look that great, especially the UI and menu background. The game was fun tho

unfortunately the web version throws an error, but the downloadable works fine so I played that instead. The idea is simple, yet well executed. The character is pretty cool, I also like the transitions. Graphics are nice, but the fact that the background is not seamless is a bit annoying. I liked the music too.

I agree with what @Knurled said, the game feels a bit unbalanced. I like the graphics, they are pretty nice, and the sfx are cool but a bit loud.

I LOVE the gameplay idea! It's really neat. I think the graphics and UI need a little more work tho. The soundtrack was also very nice. As someone has already mentioned, it was a little hard to figure out which item was for who at first. Cool submission :)

I liked the music, but was a little confused about what to do. I didn't really find it too chaotic as well, but still, pretty cool.

Oldschool, but pretty cool and fun! I like how the rockets are physics object. The game would sometimes get laggy when there were lots of objects, and you can spam the spacebar without any limit on speed. Also, the maths homework story was relatable lol, I too destroyed the earth once or twice because of it.

As walkanfl has already said, the game really lacks a soundtrack. I liked how chaotic it could get, but I kinda sucked at playing it ngl.

I really like the artstyle and soundtrack! The game's a little confusing at first, but fun nevertheless. I'm a huge fan of the cardboard cutout style - it looks amazing.

Just out of curiosity,  did you make the engine yourself? The file structure doesn't look like unreal or unity.

Nice entry! The randomness is cool, but it was a bit frustrating to restart the level over and over again, waiting for the RNG to make the correct bricks disappear.

I love the simple graphics, using only 4 colors, and the gameplay is quite chaotic! The point system is a little weird - I think you can get multiple points from one bar. The game is also very hard, I think the difficulty should rise as you play, as it can get quite frustrating at times.

I really liked it! The concept is very nice although i think it lacks some more particle effects and.. explosions! It looks quite nice, it is quite unusual to go for a more realistic artstyle during the jams. I think it could look nicer if you used more reflection probes. It would fix the issue of white highlights on object edges.

The concept is nice but there are some things that require a little more work in my opinion:

  • The enemies tend to spawn behind the player - it seems unfair
  • You can get stuck by running our of ammo (and you can get -1 ammo as well)
  • The red flashes are a little too slow and too in-the-face - a hurt sound would have been better in my opinion
  • The art styles don't match - the grass doesn't fit
  • The crosshair is a little too big

Overall I still enjoyed it, but it needs some improvements.

yeah, we know. We forgot to change them, actually, and now they don't really match the skeletons (or the Gliders).

thanks!

A simple platformer game, pretty cool. The controls were a little weird- i had to spam A/D to move. Unfortunately, I haven't managed to complete it, but had some fun nevertheless.

Pretty cool! I found it a little hard to see the enemies on the second stage and the UI covered the dirt which was falling. Otherwise, nice art and quite a good submission.

Really fun (and chaotic lol), the art style is nice, I like the pixelation shader. The only problem I've had is that when you respawn, you might end up inside the citizens(?) and explode immediately.

Very nice idea! I think the game need just a bit more polish.

- The stats display is barely visible - (make it white?).
- The death looks a bit like the game is about to crash - (maybe the slowdown should be smoother?)
- Particles look samey - (add some variation to their sprites?)
- It lacks post processing - it can really add a layer of depth to a game

Loved the music and the concept in general. Nice entry :)

I loved the music, but the third level was veery frustrating. The art is nice, although I think the character and shield sprites don't fit the background sprites.

Very nice, I liked the fact that you created several levels, each with different obstacle sprites. I think this game needs some audio tho, it's a little awkward without it. I haven't found any bugs, so overall... Great job!

Me and @WalkanFL will be rating your games, submit them in this thread and please take a moment to check out ours :)

E should be working fine. Are you using a different keyboard layout? We have only tested it with standard, English QWERTY and the Polish one (they are basically the same)

the animations and models are great, but i feel like the lighting needs some work. I also had trouble with the interface not scaling correctly sometimes.

music is very nice, but the seed gathering is too slow and also causes nausea over long periods of time. managed to complete it, but i didn't really see a point to the cheap options - I just farmed for the asteroids

I really liked the art and sfx, but i think the music needs a bit more work. The concept is cool, it seems like a cool base for a rythm game of some sort.
