In what way does your game fit the theme?
Normally, a Galaga-type game would send you the chaos and you'd need to deal with it. In this case, you can unleash chaos on the hero!

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all my own code, and made the vast majority of the assets myself. Credits are included in the project.

The game works well and is fun to play! Your concept seems unique as well. I loved the music and the starship art style, but in my opinion the backgrounds don't really fit that well. I also had a small issue where i'd have to constantly reselect the bay i wanted to use. Nice submission :)

Wow, that's a great idea! This would be even better with more advanced AI, although I know it's not something easy to, if you keep at it you can make this a great game! I also felt like a "fail state" is missing, or either I didn't notice I could lose the game. The sound for when the ships pass through was a funny touch! Overall  a good entry for the jam!

A game with an awesome idea. People do not think that he will play as a villain, And You got an awesome impression here. Playing as a villain is an awesome dude. Having a mission for the hero and stoping him from the villains might be a great idea, i know you didnt get time for that . Afterall Great one.

Try Our Game, Hope you will like it.

Thanks for the feedback Team 101!

Interesting idea to play as a villain XD

I enjoyed your game!

Developer

Thanks Nunansanfan, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Really clever idea! I love the reversal of getting to be the enemies! I really enjoyed getting to throw out tons of ships at once and have them swarm the hero from both sides. I think maybe there could be a goal for the hero, such as blowing up a bunch of walls (kind of like in Space Invaders) and the objective is to prevent that from happening. With the current setup, I feel like I can take a lot of damage without any consequences. Either way, really cool game, awesome work!

If you have a chance to rate our game as well, we would really appreciate it! Thanks! :)

Ten-four Rubber Ducks! Thank you for the feedback! I will certainly check out your game as well. 👍

A very interesting concept. Some losing condition can give the game a bit more challenge.

A very good game overall. Nice work.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback mt_2a! To be honest, in my rush to get a finished game uploaded I completely forgot to add a losing condition! I'm thinking of making it so that after a certain point the player starts taking damage if they don't defeat the hero quickly enough.

Hi,

I found your game really interesting, the basic mobile game but from the other side. It was pretty fun at the beginning, but it became too easy, I was spamming the most expensive stuff in the game, and I couldn't lower my money. I think you should add a goal to the hero, so the player can actually lose, and balance the game a little bit (like reducing the money you get every second). Great game.

Also, if you have rated my game, would help me a lot.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback Poppy_Seed! I definitely plan on adding more challenges after the game jam is over. I'll be sure to check out your game as well.

It was very interesting game style.  Not only is it a mix of tower defense and space shooter, but you are the villain in the game! Felt kinda easy tho, I just kept spamming the cheapest ship button and won fast because money kept flowing in. If you make the hero's AI smarter then it will be cool.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! With some further training of the AI, hopefully it gets a little more adept. I aim to add abilities to the hero like popping shields or dropping bombs to take care of most of the units. I also plan on adding things like making minions drop power-ups for the hero like these games would do in reverse. Hopefully, changes like those will make it more of a challenge :)

Definitely, btw well done! And do check out my game :)

This concept is genious! The execution is unbelievebly well.

I could really see how this would be a game on the app store for $2 that turns up all over youtube because of weird advertisements. Jokes aside, this game feels very well polished.

The ai, or whatever, for the hero is really worked out. Instead of it just flying straight and shooting it actually tries to survive!

It is a little bit easy to unlock the bigger ships, incriesing prizes on anything by around 50% - 100% would already make this a lot more interesting.

Other than that I really have nothing to say about this beside; good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback @ENDOBLANCE! I certainly plan on adding some more challenging elements in the future, and if I ever manage to get it to a more complete and polished state then maybe... we'll see :)

Cool Game!
Could be more chaotic!
GJ!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback TheDarkBatman! I agree, there's gotta be more chaos going on to really nail that theme. I'm considering making the units move in special flight patterns to add a bit more spice to things :)

Np. It was cool!

Good game concept and presentation. Your idea is really smart but I think you should polish the game more and spice it up a bit to keep player entertaining and having a good time playing your game! Keep it up!

Also I would love to have your feedback and rating on my game, Chaos Variants

Love the game concept! Wish there were more enemy type to send out! The heroes should have different abilities as well. Enjoyed the game concept!

Developer

I had some ideas about making the hero drop bombs and raising his shields, but I couldn't get the AI worked out in time. Thanks for the feedback! I plan to implement some more ideas in the future!

The concept is amazing! Reverse shoot-em-up has a lot of potential. There are balancing issues and only one boss, but it still can be worked on. I think it's an amazing concept! Nice game!

Developer

Thanks @ThatANonoWord! I certainly want to develop it further, and I definitely want to make it more than a one-sided fight. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I liked the idea of you working as the bad guy! The game could really use a tutorial or guide to help the player understand what their objective and tools are.

Developer (1 edit)

I certainly agree on that one. I included a little blue "?" in the top right corner to help people out, but it's probably not the most noticeable thing I could have done. Thanks for the feedback!

edit: I've also included more details in the description on the page
