In what way does your game fit the theme?
Charlie, the Mad Scientist and his grandson, Robbie wander through time and space together but 6 hours earlier Robbie has been captured by one of the most terrifying species in the multiverses so YOU as Charlie have a mission to manifest CHAOS by using your portal gun to summon your VARIANTS from different infinite parallel universe to distract enemies, shutdown prison's security and then break Robbie out so it's kinda 'Let's there be Chaos' vibes? I guess?

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
The code is 90% mine, 5% brackeys' and 5% for other good people on stackoverflow and github, so basic yeah. I wrote most of the code.

Anyways, the maps are totally made from Cainos' Pixel Art Top Down - Basic free pack but I tweak his asset for a bit to match my game styles. Check it out on Unity Asset Store btw, without him this game might look even worse than the way it is now.

This is my first time creating my own characters and animation from scratch but I ended up creating all of the characters' graphic and animation somehow and it looks kinda terrible but at least it works so yeah. If it work, it works!

As a huge fan of rick and morty i really like this game and it's concept for that matter but our rick won't ask other ricks for help haha!

10/10, this game is complex (for a jam) yet easy to get into and get playing, solid graphic style, matching sounds, and it's complete chaos whilst being fair. Rick n Morty meet Among Us pretty much. LOVE IT!

Immediately when I openend this game I was really impressed. The main menu looks really cool! The music that goes with it is also amazing. The game itself looks really good as well, and the gameloop was clear and fun. The minigames were really simple, but because of the stress it made them hard. Especially the one where you had to write some bash code was tricky because it would reset if you exited the menu. It happened to me multiple times that I was on the last row, and I knew all my guys were defeated, but I thought I could just finish the last sentence. Turns out I often could not XD

A few points of feedback I would give are first of all the tutorial, it was a little bit of a text overload. Although it is infinitely better than nothing at all :D The second thing I noticed was that during the bash-code typing minigame there was a capital letter, which was a bit hard to recognize. And last of all, I feel like more enemies spawn if I run around rather than stay at one spot. I noticed this because during my first try I tried spawning my past-selves to fight the enemies, and then run off to another terminal which was hopefully safe. However, simply more enemies spawned on the way, and I could not shoot enough past-selves to defend myself. But maybe I am wrong with that :)

Criticism aside I really enjoyed playing your game! Great job :D

Developer

Thanks for honest reviews and great suggestion!

1. I totally agree with too much text on tutorial but I don't have much time and I'n running out of idea at the moment but hey at least it's better than nothing! Definitely rework that if there's a chance for this game to get update.

2.There 2 types of enemies based on how they spawn the first type I called them, fixed position enemies cause they always near the task and the another type is spawn randomly near the player over time. I also come up with some formula to calculate enemies spawn interval based on how many variants in the map more variants less interval something like that to give the game a good balance.

also maybe spending too much time and over-engineer mechanic to balance the game is one of the reason why tutorial is suck, anyways thanks again for the review!

This game is incredibly chaotic. I'm a big fan of the art style and just the overall look of the game. The concept is pretty cool and the game feels polished. Personally, I think this game is too difficult though. But I still enjoyed it, good job!

this is what is called chaotic!!! hard asf i love this please increase the difficulty hahaha

nice game btw and i love the fact it's cross platform

how long did this take you?

Developer

7 days, of course. The cross platform is not so hard. Just download another build module and build it.

SO CHAOTIC! I like the concept and graphics of this game (one of the best I've seen so far). It's pretty hard since there are so many enemies (I think I'm just bad). Also, thank you for making a WebGL, Mac, and Linux build so everyone can try this good game.

Developer

Thanks! About that I can't update what I already uploaded by now so I create new game page for WebGL, Mac  and Linux users.

Very nice , but  it was too hard

Really nice game! It feels polished and looks nice, the mini-games are really fun as well! Love the code-running one to delete system32 haha. Unique game with an original concept, 5 stars on that front!

ps. Rick and Morty is amazing.

ps. ps. The developer provided a special temporary solution for Mac and Linux users, as well as provided a WebGL build. Thank you.

Developer

Thanks! Glad to see you enjoy the game!

When I finally got to the game, I think I enjoyed it. Lots of text though. I like your take on the theme, as much as I hate Rick and Morty. Summoning different types of minions while you try to complete tedious Among Us style tasks is something I haven't seen and I like the mix of trying to manage your defenses while completing screen consuming objectives. I gave up after the second level just because it was getting a little too hectic for my liking, but it's a cool game. And I think your page says something about terrible art? Nah, this is great. It's consistent, it's goofy, and it's clear what everything is. You did well!

Keep up the good work and jam on!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the honest review! Glad to see you enjoy it despite it's not very matching for your liking and thanks for graphic complement! The text part was there because I don't have a lot of time to finish or think a better way to do it. I was like "oh shoot. I need a tutorial and slap a text on a map, boom. Moving on." but yeah thanks for honest review again!

Enjoyed the game!

Nice art style and I like your art and game,  but I don't like to read a long text as tutorial.

Developer

I totally agree with long text tutorial is suck. That's maybe the top list of thing I wanted to update if I had a chance. Glad you enjoy the game!
