Nice job, atmospheric colour palette and very effective rewind mechanic! I found the ghosts very creepy ;P The puzzles felt nicely paced, and introduced new mechanics to the player in a manageable way, which was great! The only thing I might suggest would be making the ghosts a little slower, as they are pretty fast!

Great stuff :)

That's a really cool sounding name for a game lol :3

It was a fun dungeon-crawler, very nice mechanics, though I wish I could attack faster :^)

Hope you had fun making it!! ^^

Developer

thank you!

Yes I had!

Great development with procedural level design. Very very impressive! I just think the game needs  touch of direction, seems kind of all over the place with your goal as I was playing it :)

But it is a great game and you should be very very proud of getting this put together in a week!

Submitted

Its quite impressive to make a level randomizer in a week, with rewind mechanics and make it not feel repetitive. Great job :D

Developer

Thank you!

I really like the art style. The level randomization is quite fun. I think it would be nice if you include how to unlock the doors in the tutorial.  It tool me a sec to figure out that you had to walk on the little circles. Other than that it's a pretty cool game and has a lot of potential for some super fun mechanics

Developer

Thank you! I will expand the tutorial in the future!

Hey I had some trouble running your game. Not sure if something is wrong with the file or my computer, but I thought I would let you know anyway.

Developer

Thank you for letting me know. haven´t heared about it yet, seems to be your computer. Sorry for that

Submitted(+1)

No worries, I figured that wasn't much you could've done about it any way.

Submitted

cool game cool art cool music cool dynamics but some problems

-hard to see main menu texts and player text

-levels/rooms feel too empty

-there is no much to do just entering rooms breaking class and going to next room to do same thing

-bugs i got stuck because rewind system isn't very effective

-no story or objective or finish (correct me if i'm wrong)

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

I see most of your points, but the game indeed has an ending. You fight a boss on floor three.

I hid a small "story" in the game over and the winning screen.

Getting stuck is ment to be part of the game. Thats why the player has the "o" button to kill himself (explained in the tutorial) but I see why it is frustrating

Submitted

well playing the whole game with story at the very end isn't good idea

also getting stuck and having to restart for something i cant do anything about is also not a good idea

here's feedback

Nice simple game with easy to understand mechanics

The mac version (at my OS at leased) shows only an mouse arow and blue screen :(

Developer

Oh thats not what should happen. I sadly was not able to test it.

I can never test my windows builds and am always worried things are not working especialy in a gamejam. Maybe we need to team up and test builds ;)

I am really impressed with the sheer amount of content here!

First of all, it was really fun! I liked the puzzles and found them relatively challenging. I'm also impressed with how many there were for such a short amount of game dev time. I thought that the mechanic and narrative fit the theme very well.

I also really loved the art - the animation was really fun and quirky. I do think that if you continued to work on it, some polish could be really nice. I noticed someone else mention how it would be nice to see some kind of effect where the enemy/item being rewound through time would be highlighted - I second that!

Overall, I really enjoyed it and could see a really nice product coming out of it if you just spent even another week or so on it! Really great job! :D

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I plan to work more on the game in the near future!

Nice game. Glad i get a chance to try out a dungeon crawler. The box puzzles had me baffled. Surprised how much you got done in one week ^^

  • Lower the sound from the portal effect
  • Limit the amount of rewind, add a cooldown or maybe even give like a temporary shield to enemies i dunno hehe. Felt like i could just spam it. Also felt like they had a bit too much life. Shooting enemies felt bit boring because of all this.

Oh yeah, and opening the game with a zoom-in penguin like that. Brilliant stuff :)

Please try my game out too.

Developer

Thank you! Nice to hear you liked it!

A fun little game, surprised by the amount of maps there were!

For improvements:

-You could work a little on the volumes of certain sound effects, for example the portal sound was very loud and high pitched compared to everything else.

-You could experiment a little with the ghosts spawning only when you enter the room as currently you could snipe them from across the map and they wouldn't react (you can see the ghost and magic on the map so it's a matter of lining it up).

-Add some kind of filter or effect when rewinding time. The sound effect is alright, however, something to show which things are being affected, like a highlight on the objects that it's currently rewinding.

-Keeping the R button pressed is pretty overpowered since you can keep the ghosts in place forever. Perhaps adding special time enemies that are not affected by time or there's only a X amount of time ghosts can be rewinded.

Nice job on the game jam, seems you got quite a bit done in a week!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

I hope you had fun playing the game!

Fun dungeon crawler! I have to agree with some others here that rewinding is a bit overly powerful, but the music and visuals are nice, and I spent a lot more time than I expected just exploring from room to room.

Developer

Thank you, that is nice to hear!

Submitted(+1)

I think rewinding the time makes the game a little easier e.e but it's a cool game, I recommend to make the enemies follow you if you are in the same room, it's weird when they follow you when you are in other room, but great game :)

Submitted

I notice the binding of isaac inspiration and I love binding of isaac, but I think you should work more on that idea.

The rewinding mechanic is really fun to play with and you can easily exploit enemies to return to their original location so that they never get to you, it is really fun! I enjoyed the game, but try to add it content in a future update just like binding of isaac!

Now what do you think of playing my game?Actually the mechanic is very similar to yours. give it a try and a rating maybe!

Developer

the binding of isaac was a big inspiration making this game and I plan to add more content in a future update after the jam.

Thanks for the feedback!

Great dungeon crawler! Haven't seen any of them during the jam. Some recommendations would be to have the rewind be a meter to power up as you could just endlessly push the enemies back, have the ghosts be able to path find, and create more enemies. Good job on creating this in a week!

Thank you for the valuable feedback!

Hey, Cool game! Loved the concept and the atmosphere. Congrats on the jam! Rated.

The dungeons do give some variations with some rooms containing puzzles and some enemies. But the enemies got out of the rooms real quick and didn't seem to be bound to it. A border for them would fix that problem. The rewind ability which reverses the enemies moves is a bit unbalanced. If you spam "r" while chased by enemies you can keep them easily at distance and have enough time for shooting. A cooldown for the ability would make it more interesting to play against them. The tutorial you provided right at the beginning was pretty good and explained the game mechanics very quick and easy. Keep it up!

Developer

Thank you! The enemies leaving the rooms was intended, to spice it a bit up. I will try to balance the rewinding a bit more in the future!

Wonderful procedural dungeon game! The combat is a tad bland but the puzzles with the boxes keeps things interesting. As others have stated, the portal sound effect is insanely loud. Great job overall!
