Dude this game is really addictive!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Very addictive gameplay loop! Very fun and imaginative story, felt inspired by Inscryption. Great job!

Submitted(+1)

lots of good audio/visual feedback, a simple but addicting gameplay loop, good stuff man!

Submitted(+1)

Great game, really fits the theme well!

I love the visuals and the gameplay! Unfortunately, I couldn't finish the game due to a glitch that stopped my from pressing the spin button, but it was amazing while it lasted!

Visuals are amazing, really liked the mix of pixel art and shaders. Gameplay wise it was a bit under-cooked

Submitted(+1)

I got addicted to this. Addicted to coffee and triple chocolate cookies.

There are a couple Inscryption inspired games in this jam but this has a pretty cool twist. I read that you are already aware that the music could be improved to better match the ambiance. Also, launching in full screen may help with the immersion (I think it’s just an itch setting if your game supports stretching).

That was amazing! Super atmospheric and beautiful. I’ve seen a similar mechanic before, but never wrapped up in this kind of style, and it looks so cool ^ ^
We’d love it if you gave our project a try and a rating!

The game is really simple and I think it would be better if it was a bit harder to add more strategy in choosing upgrades. After I unlocked almost all the tiles, I did get stuck the shop menu didn't pop up maybe that’s a bug. Great job on your submission

Developer

Yeah that sounds like the ending point, some UX improvements to do :')

I've got a question as you'd have liked to be challenged. Should you start from the start of like in kinda save points when you've got the message from another prisonner? Or any other system. I wonder how to do that without being to punitive. I've had the feeling that for the jam everybody should end the short story with a few tries at worst.

Submitted(+1)

I had a blast. The game seems simple, but you really have to think about your upgrades to maximize cookie output. Great concept, great art and great audio. Well done!

Submitted(+1)

This was really excellent! It's so simple, but I found myself sitting with it for much longer than I would've expected. The art is quite nice, and the style makes the gameplay even more compelling. I did get stuck later into the game, though - after 20 or so rounds, the shop menu didn't pop up and I was locked out of the game. Great work, though!

Developer

Yup the "to be continued" was the way to stop but I kinda mess that up due to the deadline and my desperate need for sleep :D Thanks for your feedback! What would you like to see if we continue it? :)

This was a great game! Super clean work for 7 days wow! I really enjoyed it and could have happily kept playing it for some time after I beat it. The inventory system was fun and I liked having to choose between more slots and more rolls. Only critique I can offer is the growling background sound and the music kinda clash and muddy each other up that being said I like the sfx : 3 Great work : D

Developer

Thanks for playing :). Sure music + sfx thrown like that would need a bit more love :') (and a pinch of fear)

i liked the art style, sounds and the idea
Good job

I really like the style of your game. The art is very cool, the soundtrack fits the atmosphere and the animations are amazing. The powerups are also nice to try out. Unfortunately I'm very bad at gambling and I ran out of spins faster than I could hit cookies! Great job on your submission

Developer

You know what they say: Better luck next time! :)

Amazingly well done, love the art and the whole presentation, the sprinkle of lore is great and very well executed. The gameplay is very fun and the idea is great, but sadly it gets a bit boring later, the challenge seems to fade away and theres not that much need to strategize I feel like, or maybe thats just mid game, also Im not sure why but I havent seen any of the later upgrade like Milk, Oven or the Teapot appear, I would think both of these points might be because you dont need to trade out your old items and the distribution get. And imo youve nailed the theme 5/5 lol this rules. Would genuinely get it on Steam in a finished state, great job

I dont know if I bugged it out (because I had bad timing of Ctrl+Tabbing) at the end of the dialogue where it said "To be continued..", or is it intentional but I cant press the Spin button and its stuck on the rolled out items

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! You’re right, the challenge kind of drops off around the mid-game. In our first balancing it was tougher, but we toned it down since we thought people might not always have the time or motivation to retry just to finish a jam game, haha. As for the ending, we added that final clap on purpose, more like leaving the door open in case we ever want to finish the game. The 'to be continued' is intentional, not a bug i think. If it’s on level 25, then that’s normal.

Submitted(+1)

I see yeah that does make sense, but since its such a short addictive game without an information overload I think it wouldve been fine to leave it a little harder, but I understand the decision.
Hmm it was I think at the time where I had to reach 200 cookies, coudlve very well been level 25, and it looks like a bug only because you can close the dialogue and it kinda just stays there frozen, but yeah

okay so i came back to this game a few times.
I love the aesthetic of this and sound design. Crazy. Good UI design for options and choices. I like the dynamic arms coming out for options. I can see more things happen as well with this.
Things maybe to consider:
CERT shader made text very hard to read.
I also think letting the player have the autonomy to stop the spin so its more pseudo skill based than luck would help long term playability and less feels bad. You could increase the spinning if we have the power to stop it ya know.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! You’re probably right, maybe the font choice isn’t the best. The CRT shader is actually placed below the UI, so you shouldn’t be seeing the effect on top, but perhaps the font is so thin that it gives that impression. As for the reels, it’s true we should have let players stop them themselves. I also felt frustrated sometimes when getting nothing after a spin. But in any case, thank you for playing!

Submitted

yeah maybe it’s just a thin font. Maybe even black would be better or a thicker one. I think you can continue this post jam with some option and variety.

Really great art and overall scary vibes! Had fun with this game :)
