Nice little game. I loved the music, it fit the western setting very well!

Would've been nice to have some sound effects when guns fire and when you take damage.

Got shot to death by the bandits every time, so the baker will have to fend for herself. Sorry.

I had a blast. The game seems simple, but you really have to think about your upgrades to maximize cookie output. Great concept, great art and great audio. Well done!

Cool idea, and on par with the theme! I had really fun playing, and was a little sad when it ended so early. I wanted to do more waves and slay more kinds of enemies :)

I would have liked to be able to move and swing my sword at the same time, but maybe that would have made it too easy? Once I figured out the timing it wasn't that big of an issue anyway.

Well done!

After seeing that cover art I knew I had to play this game, it's such a weird and wonderful concept :D

Art, sound and gameplay is great, and I loved that intro too!

I think a textured background would be nice to give a sense of movement once the camera starts following the player.

Great job!

Wow, how many types of enemies are there!? Super hard, but man.. I like it! Really cool art, and a very creative way of killing the enemies.

Only problem I had was that the game didn't fill the entire screen. And of course my own lack of skill to finish it :D

Thank you for playing, glad you liked it!
And thank you for letting us know about that bug so we could fix it.

Wow, think I've lost a couple of hours in there. It sure was hard and not every run payed off..  you really had to weigh the risk/reward every step. Loved it.

I had two upgrades that didn't unlock, but saw that you might have fixed that now. Will come back for another run :)

Lovely little game. Great upgrades to keep things interesting. I got really nervous when the cat started using two paws, never stayed out much longer than that. Nice!

Never figured out what the broken cheese did, but would really love to know :)

On my first run a goblin stole all my gems.. but I lured him into a fire trap and laughed evilly as he burned to a crisp before my eyes! Then I accidentally stepped on a bomb and blew myself to tiny little pieces. No gems that day. Had to run away. Loved it.

(1 edit)

I usually get too frustrated by these kind of games, but since I was allowed to trade victory points for power ups I got through it smiling. Really like the minimalistic art style you went for, which was what drew me in.

Glad I kept showing up for work even after several failures ;)

Are you Swedish?

Couldn't figure out how to present my passport to the officer in the booth.

The text size in the messages could be a little bigger and they didn't scroll down properly so I struggled to read them.

I liked the art style, and the music seemed fitting too. Would like to give it another go if you could tell me how to get past the passport scene :)

I like the concept, fits the theme well. Took me a while to figure out that I could click the pickaxe button to upgrade, but once I did I went deeeeep!

This kept me playing far longer than I anticipated :D

Fun concept. I like the color palette and graphics a lot.

I played it a couple of times, and felt I got better and better at building a good deck.

Are the heroes draining your XP-pool to level up?

Really enjoyable, makes you feel important :D

Nice work with the background audio, especially that you can hear people walking by. I think the scram reset button killed me most of the time. I also wasn't sure if I had to count 30 seconds from when I last pressed it, or if I could just press it just before the clock hit "XX:30" and "XX:00".

Yay, I went to kitty heaven! I laughed so hard when I discovered some of the ways you could die.

The graphics and animations look good. That little kitten is adorable!

My only suggestion is to make it a little easier to jump between the platforms. Sound effects would make it more polished, but I honestly didn't even realise there were no SFX before reading the comments :)

I had really fun playing this game, well done!

Wow, this was really hard! I agree that starting slower and being able to toggle trapdoors open/closed would help. Random levels could be cool too, for replayability.

The lack of music didn't bother me. I thought the ambient sound added to the feel of monotonous work one might do in a factory.

Cool game!

Reminds me of Lemmings, but without the need to crowd control your own minions. Fun concept that is easy to learn, but hard to master.

The buttons didn't flow right when scaling the window

Well done!

Elegant. At first you think the game is pointless, just pressing the buttons over and over. Until you realise the actual gameplay. Ending was perfect!

I love that the story, the "enter a bunker and steal stuff" part, is just a tutorial for the boss fight :D

Beautiful pixel art. The sound effects really make the guns, bombs and laser feel like a real threat.

I've played enough games to know that a barrel with a flame symbol on it means "boom", so I had no problem understanding what to do once I got to the boss. The difficulty was good for a game jam, but could probably be ramped up if you continue working on this. The laser beam was really the only weapon that could score a hit, if you were carrying a barrel.

Good job!

You've really nailed the feeling of being onboard a worn down spaceship, the atmosphere is through the roof! I also liked the fixed Resident Evil style camera when running around the different parts of the ship.

Didn't manage to save the ship, but will give it another go when I have more time.

Well done putting this together in a week!

Brilliant! One of my favourite games this jam.

Artstyle and level design, together with the ambient soundtrack, really worked to set the vibe for the game. I love how the doors just barely fit the robot, it's impossible not to ding it a couple of times trying to squeeze through :D

I think maybe the failing systems could last a little bit longer since. The ship is too big to cover for a single robot anyway, so you'll get too many failures to handle soon enough. A visual cue on the direction arrows to help prioritise the most urgent ones could help too. Unless you're going for a 2 minute experience of course, in that case don't change a thing ;)

Well done! All systems felt well thought out, and had a coherent art style. Music and sound effects fit the atmosphere well. The text was a little bit hard to read for me, since it was quite small.

I enjoyed playing, it was a lot of fun!

Cool game! Visuals and audio are good and the level design works well. Good variation of enemies. I also like how smooth the controls are and that you move pretty fast.

I had a blast trying to save as many cats as I possibly could :D

Beautiful artwork. The slow animations didn't bother me.

Unfortunately I couldn't remember which button to press for each action, so I never managed to kill any enemies. It would have been nice to have those key mappings visible. I like the idea though :)

Good job making this after using Godot for only two weeks!

I had fun playing. Always fun to see what these buttons do :D

Good point :)

Had to rerun it several times at the end since I never seemed to be able to get passed the last trap.. but I still got the victory screen. I'll take that as a win :)

That "Oh no!" almost become the soundtrack, and after many, many re-runs I've got the level in muscle memory. Now I just need to shave those extra seconds off my time :D

Graphics are nice. I like how the spears stick to the wall, and such details. Difficulty was well adjusted for a jam game.

After the first round I thought "This was easy enough, I've got this!". Think I only managed to save two people during the second round.. that trashcan of a robot did not work at all :D

Great that you could control the entire game using only the keyboard. Good graphics. Fun gameplay, at least in the second round. The first one could be shorter in my opinion, like a practice round.

Good job making this. I hope you had fun! :)

Good job making this, I enjoyed playing it! I think the graphics are good. The little alien creature is cute, and the plants have enough variety to feel interesting. The music might be a little repetitive, but for the short duration it took to finish the jam version it was no issue.

I think the plant mechanics works, but could be expanded. Maybe the orders could have a variety of traits they're looking for in the plants, like 4 heal + 2 aesthetic to make trimming and splicing feel more worth doing.

Hope you had fun making the game :)

Great little game you've made. Love that you install software patches with floppies, like the good old days.

Artwork fits, music adds to the tension, the robot's dialog... hilarious!

Awesome game. Art and music was good, and level design felt well thought out.

May I suggest that you add a description of what each character can do? It took me a while to realize that he blue character needed to go to the control panel to open the blue bars. In the tutorial I thought the control panel was loot, since it disappeared :D

Well done!

Excellent work! I had really fun with this one.

Everything looks and feels very polished. Really impressive that the two of you made it in just one week!

Leveling up felt really satisfying with your new job title being slapped onto your name tag. I was so sad when I was fired from the job :D

Really fun! And you did a really good job making the controls feel smooth.

I think the difficulty was pretty good. I didn't make it on my first go but learned a lot which helped me on my second run.

Well done!

Cool game, I can see potential in this. I like the randomly generated levels, the art style you're going for and the simplicity of the game itself. Easy to pick up and just get going.

Suggestions for improvements:

  • Make the "Move" button stand out from the rest of the text.
  • Add some good/bad events that can happen between destinations based on which hitchhikers you pick up
  • Maybe the hitchhikers have a specific destination they want to go, so they will stay in the car for that long?
    • They could be angry if you miss their destination - If they are dangerous that could lead to something bad happening
    • You could have a limited space for hitchhikers and their stuff, which would make you have to choose wisely
  • The items the hitchhikers carry could perhaps be necessary to survive the trip to the final destination
  • Maybe there could be more than one hitchhiker present in some cities, so you could choose one

Good job so far, and I hope you continue working on it after the jam!

Fun take on a classic game! Nice graphics too.

Too bad I had to play against myself, would have been fun with some challenge. Or maybe I should have had a friend over :D

I hope you had fun making this and that you keep developing it!

Fun little game, reminds me of "Please, Don't Touch Anything".

Tried to enter the code I found using the inputs on the second screen, but didn't seem to be able to progress. Not sure if I just didn't figure out the correct way to do it though :)

Nice work, anyway!

Cool game, I like the concept. We were also considering making a rocket launch :D

The graphics look good and clean. Minigames were fun and easy to understand. I don't remember hearing any music, though? I didn't experience any bugs, and had a problem free launch :)

I think some variations to the puzzles could be introduced to increase the difficulty. For example:

  • More buttons/steps in the pattern repeting game
  • Change the symbols in the matching game
  • Reverse order in the number sorting game

This was fun! Too bad you had to cut it short, I would have liked to see all the strange things happen. I felt it should've been some kind of horror experience, based on the single strange event that happened and the vibe of the music. Good job getting this far in just two days, though!

Funny upgrades, really chaotic, loved it. Artwork, music and effects worked well.

I kept going until the autoclicker broke and my manual clicks was worth 0. Figured I reached the end of the game :)

Spot on with the theme. Funny articles. Art and music worked very well. Good job!
