Really good visuals and audio! the gameplay was pretty good too. I loved the element of strategy in this. And the async multiplayer is so clever. Each duck's ability was also really cool, and it's great that there's so many variations! The game felt pretty polished too. Overall, really good job!

Amazing game!  It's so fun, the art is wonderful, and I love the music too.  One of my favorite games.  Great job!

I absolutely love the visuals, the sound effects and the change of music really add to the vibe, it's so fun!! I'm not familiar with auto-battler games, so I got a bit confused at first trying to figure out how to apply strategy and not just use the ducks randomly. I really liked the progression, and the gambling mechanic. Really creative, and everything about this is so fun. Amazing job!!

A really fun and unique take on an autobattler, I love the different ducks and the gamble machine. Feels like a finished game. Good Job. 🙌

This was really fun and addicting! I loved trying out all the duck types, it felt like a finished game.

Very cool offline multiplayer auto-battler mechanic!  Love the little duck designs.  I imagined they were all British so that I could get all my ducks in a row.  The gameplay is also very dynamic.  I had lots of setups that I thought were pretty indominable only to get trounced by someone's rock to my scissors.  The random nature of the duck gacha means that you can't just run back whatever duck combo beat you.  You really have to utilize the resources you have.

Great job!

awesome job! I played on my phone and had a lot of fun gambling my ducks. The last battle I did stopped progressing. I had 3 ducks, opponent had one but their hit points never went down… not sure what happened but was still fun

There is a lot going on in this game. The duck auto-battler is much more complex than it initially looks like, there is a lot going on that makes it a little difficult to plan for, I’d suggest ramping up by introducing “duck effects” gradually like when you introduce the second row. Also the “tie” is not properly explained. I got in a fight where the ducks were far away and not making progress but I had many more ducks so calling that a tie did not feel fair. The trash in the duck gambling adds a fun touch to losing, maybe those items could actually have some use as well to modify duck attributes?

And then there is the art, cute and such variety, pretty impressive!

The UI could use some tweaks, like explaining movement better, placement of the buttons and allowing to reorder ducks in the battle field without having to remove and select again.

I loved the strategy of this! It's simple, but it still works really well. I love the excitement of getting new ducks. I wish there were more gimmicks to each duck, but I don't feel like that's possible in a week with this amount of effort. Really awesome battler! Enjoyed my time with it! Also, props to the music person!

I'm glad you enjoyed!

Really solid artwork and the quacking music here is pretty fun! Also enjoyed getting all the various types of ducks and trying various combinations and testing them in battle!

This game quacks

A really fun game, I absolutely adore the sounds those ducks make :)

also this really is a heaven for my gambling-coded brain

It wasn't really clear to me how the ducks would behave during battles, for example I kept putting the knight in front thinking it would tank hits before giving my other ducks a chance to attack, but what I was actually doing is giving giving my opponent a free turn. Some visual clarity during battles would also be really welcome. Other than that, this is a really well-made and fun game! :)

Glad you enjoyed! :D

At the bottom of the game description there's a little tutorial explaining the armored duck interaction, though once the Jam's over, I'll just put that in the game so it's more clear

More visuals ofc also on our to-do list, but jam time's short, hopefully soon after the jam :D

Fun little game, the graphics are absolutely amazing.

I think the game lacks some sounds and clarity during battles (colored text or icons for duck turn UI for example), otherwise, i think it's great.

Awesome game!

I love the discovering the different ducks and play around with my set up to find a good team, but it did feel kinda of RNG depending on who you are facing too. And I also felt that the armored duck was just neccesary in every comp, so perhaps another defense type would ahve made it more interesting.

A small nitpick I also have was the lack of visual and sounds effects. The gambling was a bit uninteresting because although you run the risk of getting trashes, after a few rounds you would just have spares you have nothing to do with but gamble them away anyway, so I thought that part of the mechanics could be expanded more.

I love the autobattler genre so it was very fun to play for me. Overall a great entry. I played it longer than I had planned to XD

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! :D

The teams you face are indeed a little luck-dependent, though we do have a behind-the-scenes system that deleted teams that win/lose too often lol, I have plans to add that ducks are locked behind rounds too, like the Wizard Duck would only be available to get at round 8 or something, this would balance out the teams more

I didn't add the SFX to the battlescene cuz with 8x speedup I feared it'd be too chaotic, there was animation planned for the gacha machine, but I didn't get to it

First autobattler of the jam and it's pretty good! The quacking SFX are so fun and the gameplay was fun, I had a couple times where it was pirate v pirate and they danced around each other for a while before attacking lol. Good work.

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed! :D

The pirate might need a little rework lol, if there's two of them on the same team, they'll just swap with each other forever, and not move forwards

Very creative concept, very cute artstyle, very good music, obviously balanced well, funny jokes, what's not to love?
(sorry I broke the 69 reviews)

Man, amazing game, it's a genuine creative and unique gameplay, amazing graphics too! Now, I'm not good at it, so y'all getting straight one stars.

Really cool game, the ducks are pretty, and the variety in gameplay is good as well, the one I liked the most was Cowboy Duck. Such a badass guy, and it's really useful, to attack in range. Congrats

This is really good! Ducks are cute, I like the variations of the ducks and the look of each of them. The pacing of the game is also really good. I like the fact that it starts from just two basic ducks and slowly builds up your repertoire. It really makes the learning experience super smooth and gets the player up to speed really quickly. The power of each duck also clearly matches how it looks, which is a major plus. Gameplay-wise its also decent and enjoyable, with some quinten multiplayer magic that somehow got cast at a jam game, this is probably one of the better multiplayer autobattler you can get.

The only criticism I can think of is that the lack of sound effects for the ducks really hurts the game. Just feels like something was missing, especially with the nice background music you have there.

Anyway, this would probably make a really good mobile game. I like this a lot. Well done!

Developer (1 edit)

Glad you enjoyed, Ty for the kind words! :D

Sound effects during combat you mean? (They should quack in the teambuilder and gacha) I considered it, but at 8× speed, it'd be too noisy I'm afraid

Was actually quite fun hopping in a jam team near the end just for adding in multiplayer :D

Might do that again in the future.
