The visuals are really cute! The game design idea is unique and fresh. Super fun!
I am sorry but just I dont understand how to equip axe. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but relly would like to try it as it look very cute and seems to have all those systems in it. If you have time, please writte basic instructions in description or somwhere else, I would gladly try this again.
Hey
This is an ambitious project because my mind straight up went to Stardew valley when I started this. Like others mentioned, some feedback on the hit would be great whether it be audio or visual.
Other thing I would like to see is why are the animals rebelling, or rather where are they coming from. Cause currently they come from out of the frame but it would also make sense for them to show from the resource gathering places.
Good game and good luck :)
I had to read the other comments to figure out the lack of visual or audible feedback thing. I couldn't really get the harvesting to work properly either? I think some indicators would really strengthen the gameplay and make it more accessible. Otherwise, the art style is really lovely! Hoping to see this grow into something really neat :)
Nice game, this has huge potential. I am sure with more time the game will be even better. Given the tight time frame you both achieved a lot. As others have stated more hand holding initially will be necessary, that can be reduced to things such as feedback via sound or visual prompts. Additionally some signs could also help for the more intricate parts of the game.
Nice little game. As already mentioned by others its quite hard to understand in the beginning because there is no feedback (sound/ visuals) or tutorial. I love the art and the idea! Also it fits the theme nicely.
Love the visuals & the sound effects, I agree with what other people commented that it's not immediately clear how to play your game, but I think you could easily fix that!
Also, a great multiplier for the fun would be to add visual & sound effects when you hit animals with the axe, the throwing animation itself is cool, so that would make it extra satisfying
I like the visual and overall idea of the game. I think if the game has some kind of tutorial, it would be faster to understand how things go in the game :)
Great concept! I really like the overall idea of this game, it's very unique! I had a little trouble figuring out what to do at the start, since there is no visual or auditory feedback to anything you're doing. It would have been nice to have a simple hit sound effect when chopping down a tree or perhaps make the tree shake. I also had trouble figuring out how to build the walls, no matter what I did they just wouldn't get placed sometimes. It also would be better if the crafting menu showed you what ingredients you need to craft the items. Other than that the idea is very unique and I really like it! The art is extremely well done, it's very cute and charming! I like this game a lot, I'd definitely play a full version of this with more feedback from the environment. Well done!
The game idea is nice and so is the art, but please make some effect that will happen when hitting something because I didn't understand for a long time if I am hitting it or not. And also please explain what each building does and what it requires (you can write it in the itch page), And when you die make the player respawn.
Nice art. I like the idea of capturing enemies and turning them into allies. Many of the trees turn into grass after being cut down, was that intentional?
I really like the cute pixel art and sound design! I just really wish that there was a tutorial and maybe some UI like a menu or death screen that lets you restart.
Fun game and cute art! would love to have more sfx(like for filling up the throwing bar, picking up items etc).
Really mechanically complex for a jam with the building and inventory mechanics which is very impressive, Good work.
Game is nice however I wish the controls to be more responsive. Well done for a week project.
First off, I love the font on the page banner, I'm a big font person and it's so fun; and the cover image is also very fun! I ended up just plastering my portrait art over a gradient because I was so tired lol.
Really enjoyed the art and the UI nicely fit into the screen.
It was a little difficult to get started but ended up getting a little base built and took out some of the wild animals; but alas they overtook me as they're one with nature.
One of the things that could help a lot is a sound for hitting the trees. I thought I heard one faintly but never did again, so I assume there isn't one or something happened to it.
I had a really hard time understanding exactly how to play some button prompts I feel would be a bit better but the art style is very cool
