How does the game fit the theme?
We thought about everything that could go wrong and came up with the idea of choosing a game that starts out simple (simple mechanics) but then becomes increasingly difficult until everything that can go wrong does.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used sounds from https://pixabay.com/

Okay, this is a really cool idea, you guys did a really good job with the difficulty ramping up as time went on, really did give the impression that everything was going wrong haha.

And of course it doesn't need to be said but the art and music are just insane, really ties everything together. All the little things like the ships having the red area around them as they near other ships is a nice touch that you gave a lot of thought towards. Definitely one of my personal favourites from this jam, nicely done!

Thank you for your kind words!

Awesome game! I love the aesthetic and the music adds to the experience of being a pirate / sailor. It’s great how a relatively simple mechanic becomes more difficult as you have to multitask controlling all the boats and killing the monsters. Sometimes the boats got stuck in a harbor of the wrong color although it looked like they would pass through it, maybe you could adjust the collision shape of the harbor. Other than that the game feels great to play and is very polished!

This has an impressive amount of polish and feels very complete. Great work! I love the "draw a boat path" mechanic.

Thank you!

Great little game and awesome music. Ships occasionally rotated annoyingly right after drawing which resulted in a lot of shipwrecks...

This is great! Really cool theme and solid execution! Funnily enough we made a similar drawing mechanic in our game, tho yours looks much better :)

Thank you!!

This game requires a lot of micromanagement 😅I didn't know how to stop ships from moving, so I made them go in circles by drawing a loop - this helped a lot and was funny to see the ships do nothing so I didn't have to worry about them crashing or getting hit by octopuses 🤣 awesome game! The art was lovely and very stylized, I knew immediately this would be a fun game to play. And the music fit very well, I think you did an amazing job with this game in a week. Well done!! Also, I'm very much a fan of the octopus.

That was also my strategy most of the time hahaha! Thank yo ufor testing :)

It's fantastic. Well done.

I crashed more than a few boats.

That's a very nice game! Although, I kept getting eaten by the Kraken, as the ship was traveling just on top of the watning triangle when it appeared, I was able to get some ships safely to their destinations. Nice art and the gameplay is so smooth. Congrats!

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback :) Yeah, we already set that time up, but maybe we need to increase it even more or also thought about adding a sound effect to the warning triangels

Really nice work. Only thing I would probably want may be to be able to discard the drawing. Congratulations.

This is really good! The artwork is very nice, love that old sea chart style, the music is fitting, and especially the tutorial is very very well done! I love the gameplay a lot too, this reminds me of the old mobile game where you divert flights to land (I've forgotten what the name is though) and it is very enjoyable. Speaking of mobile games, this would feel quite nice to be played there too!

The few and far between criticisms would be the difficulty is rising too slowly for me, probably I am expecting the level of difficulty to start at what currently the game does around 600-1000 points. It makes the first part of the game (which is not chaotic enough) quite slow and boring at times. Also, it would be nice if the randomiser didn't generate the same colour of ships 5 times in a row, probably some sort of pseudo randomiser would be nice.

Anyway, this is a very good game and I like it very much! Well done!

P.S. It's always nice to see a custom and themed pause menu so huge kudos for that

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback! You’re probably referring to Flight Control. I used to play it on my iPod Touch as a kid, and it was part of the inspiration for this game. We had the same thought that it would work well on mobile. I agree that the game scaling needs improvement. Glad you liked it!

Great game! Super innovative and the art is great.

I don't think I got a single red ship tho in my run.

GG!

Developer(+1)

Thank you a lot! The ship spawning indeed needs improvement.

From the moment I started the game, I loved the visuals and sound. The more I played, the more I enjoyed its mechanics. Turns out, I love everything about this game—it's absolutely amazing!

Developer

Thank you! Happy to hear you liked it that much!

That was fun, I remember the mechanic from an airport game. The execution here is very well done and the art is pretty.

Carefully navigating ships into docks, great game concept! Although the gameplay is simple there are a lot of thing to keep track of, like the giant octopus, or not crashing each ships into each other.

Love the art style and the music choice of the game, the complement one another nicely.
And I especially love the game over screen, the ink spilling all over the screen, very fluid and smooth.

If I have one critique, it'd be the cargo itself, it's a little hard to tell them apart, maybe make their color a little brighter?

In any case, this is a spectacular game, good job!

Loved this concept! As others noted it was a bit difficult to understand what to do at first, but over time I came to really enjoy it. The visuals were amazing

This is spectacular, i would really like if the difficulty ramped up more
