How does the game fit the theme?
Wizard Intern is a grid puzzle game with the objective of sliding each potion to its corresponding goal. Potions slide until they collide with walls or other objects, so moving them where they need to be isn't always as easy as it sounds.
The main mechanic inspired by the theme was the use of colored gates that only matching colored potions can pass through. In other words, "nothing can go" if it's the "wrong" color.
The theme is also incorporated into the story as this mechanic was created as a system where "nothing can go wrong" while sorting the potions, after the creator experienced mishaps with previous interns.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I made everything except:
- The assets used to create the room in the main menu of the game
- The VFX used on the goals
- The sound effects and music
