It's a cozy vinyl decorating sim, and all of the dragging mechanics are compatible on mobile!! I should know since I mainly tested it on my phone lol.

This is not only the most serious game I have played yet in this jam, but also the only jam I sat there and played until completion, no matter how many times I had my momentum push me into the ground. I love the 3d models and the design of the game so much, like it's so whimsical and joyful *cough* I mean, Serious.
The only thing I'd suggest is improving the UI for the flaps I have and what I have remaining, as well as a UI showing how many miles I am at and how many I have left to go. You could even do a minimap of the world to show when the mushrooms start disappearing if you feel fancy.
Anywho, super fun and engaging game with a really unique theme!!
Here's my game because Itch refuses to put it there automatically lol
Such a cute game omg!! And especially as a solo dev, I think it turned out great. The Chrome Music Lab music reminds me of when I first started making music, and it was lowkey fire, and the art style was very simple, yet charming. There is one very minor thing you might be able to do to improve the game. I felt a little annoyed having to reset the position of the spinning platforms each time I died, so maybe having a way to keep them in their position, instead of having it restart to the beginning, would be beneficial. (Especially in the later levels with 3+ platforms needing to be aligned very specifically)
Overall, you did a great job for a first game jam, and I enjoyed my gaming experience!!
I loved the unique movement of spinning a joystick around. I've never seen anything like it. It kind of reminded me of when I first started playing games and had to get used to the controls, which added a layer of difficulty that made beating levels all the more satisfying. However, the enemies being able to travel through whirlwinds did make it difficult, but I'm not sure if that's just a skill issue or not lol. Overall, a good game!
My name is Jaiden, and I am a music composer who wants to strengthen my skills and meet new people. I am learning a new music program and would love to help bring a project to life with custom music.
Inspirations:
The classics: Celeste, Deltarune, Pokémon Emerald, etc.
Music Background:
Taken music theory classes and have been performing on multiple instruments for multiple ensembles for many years
4 years of music composition, mostly using simple music editors like BeepBox, but recently switching to Cubase
Experience:
I have worked on 5-6 game jams
Composition director for Imbernet Studio
My own chiptune music and albums on Spotify
I look forward to working with you!!
(Theme from a game jam I worked on)
I can't believe I let myself play a game jam game for almost an hour, but it was just so much fun to play!! I only wish the music didn't stop whenever the upgrade screen would come up, when getting a bunch of upgrades in the early game, it got annoying because I really wanted to listen to the well-composed music!! Maybe you could have a calmer version of the main song that changes into it?? Either way, it was loads of fun, great job you guys!
Thank you so much for such a deep analysis of our game!! It's much appreciated and we'll definitely look into adding a way to better avoid the red astroids in future patches.
To be completely honest with you, we made it for a shorter jam so we didn't really expect anyone to really win persay? But we'll definitely have to work on a proper win screen!!
I'll make sure the programmer knows since I just made the music for it and help with ideas, so I'll send it over. Thanks again for playing an giving feedback!
Hey, my name is Jaiden, and I'm looking for some teammates that have worked in one or more game jams before and/or have a few years at their craft.
I've done 4 game jams up to this point and I specialize in Chiptune style music, which is very in line with this jam, but I am also looking to experiment with new software and styles so I'm flexible.
You can contact me fastest my messaging me on discord or Instagram @JaidenTfs and I look forward to having an amazing jam experience!!
Hey, I noticed that your game doesn't have a soundtrack or many sound effects. I make chiptune-styled music and if you need an original soundtrack then I'd love to help!! (no payment wanted I just like making music lol) Just contact me using @JaidenTfs or jaidentfs@gmail.com
This is a very cute game, and I wish you the best of luck on your development journey!!
I'm not entirely sure why our lead chose as many people as we did, however we originally had 2 programmers that were working really hard. One of the programmers worked with our narrative guy to make like a tutorial and some story elements.
With about 2 days left in the jam he said he would be online to finish everything, and the next day we realized he had left the server and blocked everyone in it. His name online is Sickk in case you ever run into him.
Because of that our only programmer left had to last minute cram for 2 people. We never ended up understanding the scripts that Sickk wrote because they weren't finished and we didn't have time.
Furthermore our lead got really sick and couldn't really be online to communicate with people what needed to be done, or plan out level design, so our programmer and UI guys were working on that in addition to their own jobs without warning.
We plan on revisiting it sometime soon and adding signs in the halls, a tutorial, and just more quality of life things that we lacked adding in the week we had. Your feedback will be really valuable when doing so!! If you want to play it how we Invisioned it, just follow the itch page and we'll post a devlog!! (If not then no game no foul 😊)
It's a windows download, we would love it if you could play and rate 🙏 https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-13/rate/3348439
The game had a very unique idea, however I think it starts out with way too many packets spawned. I also think having all of the packets move from one node and letting them stop at the nodes along the path as they go (e.g. there is a pink, red, and purple packet on one node. You connect that node through a path that includes all colors of nodes and they all start moving on their way.) Best of luck on getting more ratings!!
Here's our game, make sure to check out the controls on the itch page before playing!! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-13/rate/3348439#post-12291220
