How does the game fit the theme?
In this rogue-like adventure, nothing can go wrong as Zahir is helped by a powerful genie that grants you wishes.

But be careful : every wish you make come with a drawback, sometimes just annoying, sometimes downright crippling for the rest of the game.

Well... maybe a few things could go wrong...

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Cool Arab setting!

The visuals in this are really impressive. I thought the concept was really strong, and I enjoyed playing with the 2 wishes available, but couldn't progress after completing another level. I tried playing the re-upload with more wishes, and I found a lot of the extra wishes to be too frustrating. The slow motion one really took the cake. There also seemed to be some issue where sometimes the player character would look and shoot in the opposite direction of my cursor, which seemed wrong. What I loved best was getting super strength to 'push your enemies back' and finding that I rocketed around backwards, that felt like there was a great arc of "oh knockback would be good" -> "oh no! I can't control this it's impossible!" -> "actually this is GREAT, I can use this to get around". If all the wishes had that kind of counter-intuitive benefit to them I think this game would be absolutely great.

Very fun game! I'm really surprised you did it in just one week.

But I must say that I didn't like: I didn't like the slow movement of the character after choosing the wish to be strong, as well as the crazy recoil when shooting. Everything would have been ok, if I hadn't been forced to choose this wish.

Otherwise, the game is amazing and very well-developed. Very good job!

The game is very nice and well done! i enjoyed it quite a bit, i love these types of roguelikes!

Ok, first of all, making a roguelike like this during a single week is insane. Congrats!

Obviously, the balance between power and handicaps is way off,  most of which are, basically, a death sentence. While this clearly wouldn't work in a full game, for a jam entry it's ideal, since most games won't be played for long and, so, the gags won't have enough time to wear out (before frustration sets in).

I don't want to imagine the hours it took with the addition of multiple enemies, weapons, a final boss and everything else. It's pretty much insane. To be honest, the logistics of making this game are what interest me the most, lol.

Congratulations! You should have far more ratings. It's possible entering the wrong version affected the algorithm, since nobody should open it. Regardless, this is definite portfolio material, programatically and artistically! Congrats.

This was a lot of fun, super polished. I liked the recoil on Super Strenght a lot, to get around also funny pause menu. Great work.

Cool Idea! Good Job!

Dev update : the last version for game jam has a bug with only two wishes available out of 19. A bad last push when trying to fix bugs. Another page is available so you can still try the previous version with all the wishes, even if it's not in the run for the brackeys game jam anymore.

This was a really fun idea and I enjoyed playing it alot!

Great job! Excellent idea! The visuals are very well done, my compliments; in such a short time, you were able to create both the environment and the enemies. It gives a fantastic Zelda-like adventure and roguelike feeling. I found it amusing that the Midas enhancement turns gold into food, but it's not very clear why the super reflex inverts the shooting direction. It's a pity that the one-punch enhancement doesn't defeat the boss in one hit, but then it would be too easy))) Also, I would like to feel more impact from the shooting, but overall it’s still awesome!

Developer

Thanks for the feedbacks !
Yeah, some "drawbacks" (like super reflex) were harder to come up with a fitting wish, but we still wanted to keep them for fun.

Awesome implementation of roguelite elements, short of basic gameplay. Would def play this as a complete bigger release, atm its just a cute little thing, but loved the wishes stuff

This is really cute and really unexpected for the theme. Good job

That's a good one! I like your idea of implementic jams topic

I liked the music and the vibe of the game!
That the wishes had some drawbacks was great and it made the game quite interesting and variable.

Developer

Thanks for the comment ! Glad you liked the concept of the wishes.

This game is so fun but I think One Shot is a bit op and I think the fact getting a car as an option is really funny

I liked the music a lot and I am not surprised 5 people worked on this game.

Developer

thank you for the feedback! we are also proud of our car ^^

The graphcis are sweet. Is there a possibility to change the camera angle? Some of the screenshots look like it's possible.

I'd wish a possibility to unwish some wishes. :-P

Developer(+1)

Thank you !
Unfortunately, no, it's not possible to change the angle :/ The images are just screenshots taken for the page and the main menu.

Well about some "unwished wishes", there was an idea to have a room that can switch a wish for another, we just didn't have the time to add it within the deadline.
