A really cute and relaxing game!!! i think can add some tooltip when player hovers over the food to get name of the ingredients. In the recipe book too, can add tooltip to let player knows the name of the food so at least they have some direction on what ingredients to pick.
Overall, its really fun and cozy game, hope it becomes a full game !!!

Developer

Glad you liked it :)

We decided to not use tooltips to keep game non-english friendly. Might add some minor tips in future updates, but would prefer to not make game too easy

Love this! Maybe add something the food will go to, like in overcooked you need to give the food to the customers! Overall = nice game, love it, definitely will play in future and will watch if any devlogs and updates will occur

Nice cozy game! would be great the have info though, what ingredients they are, what ingredients you have in the pot, recipe of the ones you have found already etc. The art was great and the music was very cozy, congrats on your game!

Hey I love this, if you continue it I think it would be great to add a little npc that gives you encouragement about the food, or like memories of whoever gave you the recipe book!

Great game bro!

Great visuals and audio! I liked the experimentation of the game, but I did only get a few recipes before giving up. I kept making messes and no doubt I made them with the same ingredients multiple times! Still a lovely chill game.

Nice one for just one week. Good job.

Love the art and concept of this game, I could see it be a lot more interesting with time, I was hoping for more meals hope you grow it to include a lot! cute.

really chill game, artstyle is really good

Quite fun to discover all the recipes! Did you hardcoded all of them in, or did you make a system ?

Developer(+1)

Glad you had fun :D

I made a system, so artist can easily add more recipes and ingredients at their own pace. This way they won’t have to wait for me to see how well images fit game. Only thing that’s hard coded in recipes system atm is type of dishes.

Adorable art style and music. Reminds me of "Cooking Mama" :)

I feel chefy now. this game put the game we made into shame.

Don’t worry about someone else been better then you :D

Keep learning and practicing, focus on skills you care about. You don’t need to know everything, just be good at your own parts of game development and know basics of other parts.

Here’s my project from year ago: https://invernyako.itch.io/untitled-food-delayering-game

It’s downloadable .exe file, but you can see progress just from screenshot :D

Beautiful looking game, love the concept -- well done!

Submitted(+2)

Great art! Gotta say, many of the recipes were surprisingly difficult to get :D

Developer

Thank you! I loved your game as well. My wife’s favorite for sure.

I love how the ingredients come together and make food (I wish there were more hints when adding ingredients).

Developer

we plan on adding some hint feature post-jam. We need to find a way visually so it’s not distracting and also universal for languages.

Loved the pixel art, not just the final dishes but also the ingredients art also looks amazing

The sound design was also on point

Though some hints would be much preferred

Like another reviewer said, the cooking reminds me of Breath of the wild cooking, would love to see the cooking failed sound effect when we cook something wrong

Amazing work tho, kudos to u guys!

Developer(+1)

Thank you :D Glad you enjoyed our game.

Hints can do more harm then good, we decided to not risk too much and limited hints to darkened image in cook book. At least for now. As for “cooking failed” sound effect, I’m a bit confused, since there is “failed” sound effect.

Great idea and looks great! Good job!

Visuals and audio is so crisp and nice, this definitely is a very cozy and well-rounded submission! Any plans for updates or more work on it?

Developer

Glad you liked game :)

For now at least one big update is planned post-jam. We’ll see how it goes from there.

The art is very well done, specially for the foods, but lacking on the background. The idea was very neat and I had a lot of fun, although the more you discover, the longer it takes to discover another dish, which kind of drags.

Nice, cozy game! Reminds me of cooking in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom! Great job!

Developer

That was one of the inspirations! the dubious food for sure.
