Hello!
Very good game! I still need to figure out some of the mechanics (or to watch the tutorial again), but overall it's very enjoyable!
Oh, and I really like sci-fi, so theme is perfect!
Great work!

How does the game fit the theme?
Nothing can go wrong...when you have to operate the worlds most okayest ship by yourself when it was made to be operated by a team of three. Also, the cargo is totally safe.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Hello!

Great work!
Especially loved the tutorial section. I guess I would watch a footage like that for a longer format also. Great work for one week.
Wow! My game has a similar concept! You nailed it, great game!
So, I don't usually download jam games for safety but since your team's karma was so high and the other comments sounded so great I decided to give it a try, and HOLY COW! You guys pulled off a really complex game, with lots of polish. As others have said, balance is a bit of an issue but that seems pretty negligible compared to what was accomplished. Great work!
Thank you for checking us out, I understand not wanting to download games as I felt that way myself until I found out about the itch app, where you can download the games much more safely. Now I’m willing to check out games as long as I can download them with the app :) We’re glad you enjoyed the game and agree the balance needs work, after the jam we’ll definitely update! Thank you so much for the kind words ❤️
This game is very well made, but super overwhelming. Though I guess that's kinda the point, huh? I can imagine that this game could actually be pretty cool if multiplayer was a thing, but as it is, it 100% feels like I'm doing the job of 3 people at once. The game is pretty polished both in terms of art and sound, but the astounding thing about this to me is the time of entry. HOW THE HECK DID THE TEAM MAKE THIS SO QUICKLY!? Y'all would have to have done this in a day and a half tops! I really hope y'all didn't build this earlier before the jam started. If y'all started this at the proper time, then I hope y'all got some rest when you were done cuz it must have been a ton of work.. Great work.
Submission time is only when something was first entered into the contest. We put up a nightly build as we progressed through the week. I have those hidden at the moment so that people aren't confused about what to judge, but feel free to take a look once judging is over and I make them visible again! You can read the development logs and see a little bit about our progression day by day as well.
Very well designed game!
The art, sounds and mechanics fit together perfectly. Congratulations on working out so many details! The tutorial video is fun, the mini games work well. And I see you had time to write a diary in the development log.
It took me quite a while to figure out what exactly the main goal was, but in the end I managed to complete the game by just focusing on entering directions and fixing the engine.
For some reason, the steam and smoke effects require too much performance for me. If they are not visible on the screen, the game runs at normal fps, otherwise it drops to 4 fps. (However, my device may be too weak.)
Overall, this is an impressive game!
Thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to read what we wrote. It's appreciated immensely!
Would you mind telling us some of your specs? The game was developed on a machine that's firmly on the low end of high-end specs and we didn't have a great deal of time to test it on a variety of machines.
Really great game, the creativity, innovation and audio design is really out of this world and its very fun. You guys should be proud.
Good game! Great idea and implementation—it's amazing how much work was done in a week! Excellent voice acting, and the controls/mini-game mechanics are very well executed.
Good game! The voice acting is good and I like the models and textures. Well done.
Amazing visuals; Somehow this reminds me of the Unreal Tournament 3 I used to play. It has almost the same vibe!!
Amazing Voice acting!!🙌🙌
Cool game! The visuals remind me of the ps2 (in good way) Great job!
This game was fun! I really like the overall vibe, the ship AI reminds a lot of Subnautica! It was really fun taking care of the navigation codes while having to take care of space pirates and watch out for engine malfunctions. Each workstation having different controls was a nice touch, I especially liked the engine-fixing minigame. The art was very charming as well and I really enjoyed watching the tutorial video. Good job, this game was very fun to play!
How are y'all in the same jam as me? 😭 Seriously, this is such a nice game to have finished in a week. I'm not sure if i just managed somehow or if the difficulty is scaled well down but I made all 7 jumps on my first try. Likely I only got that far from the informative tutorial that I don't just have to read a wall of text for -- really neat idea, and you delivered exposition in it too.
I'm so glad you liked it!
One of the big takeaways from our last jam was that it would be better to make the game accessible for as many people as possible rather than having it be "balanced." Our intention is to continue developing into a full release where we can implement different layers of difficulty so that players that wanna cruise can, while other players can have things get a bit more dicey.
This is a super cool idea and wonderfully executed! Its definetively in my top 3 or 5 of the jam. If you want any constructive feedback here it comes; while I think the corporate video-tutorial is really fun and gives an interesting frame in which to contextualize the action, I feel like it doesn't let super-clear what the main goal is; I didn't realize what the objective was until I opened the menu when I was about to quit because I thought I had seen it all. Otherwise, I think it's a perfect entry for the jam; the art has a really cool aesthetic, the sound design is integrated perfectly with the gameplay and the general concept is a really neat interpretation of the theme. Congrats! :D
Every bit of constructive feedback we can get it completely welcome.
We agree entirely that the tutorial video wasn't the ideal outcome. While I wouldn't say it was rushed, we would have much preferred a tutorial sequence that naturally blended into the game where we could let people take in objectives at the pace that they moved. The tutorial video just ended up being much more doable to start 6 hours before the jam ended.
Thanks so much for you kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us!
This is fantastic! it's hard to believe this was made under a week.
All the mini-games are fun and diverse enough,
I never felt chocked or overwhelmed,
and I love the simple 3D visuals.
The only nitpick I have is that I didn't fully understand my target.
I screwed around in the games, kept the ship flying, identified signals, and shot things.
But I didn't feel like I was progressing.
Overall, it's amazing.
Thank you for checking us out and the kind words! It was certainly a good challenge to pull off in a week, luckily our team has two people working on coding that figured out a lot about building a game from our first build, Rubber Ducky Boat Battle :) If you watched the tutorial video, it says in there the goal is to get seven jumps to deliver your shipment. So be sure to push the ship into overdrive seven times, and you’ve beat the game! Thanks again for playing :)
Thanks so much for the kind words! To be completely honest, we’re a bit shocked we pulled it together in under a week too. I feel tremendously grateful to know and work with such talented people.
We were definitely unsure of how to clearly display progress outside of a display element at the helm. We had intentions to put a more dynamic difficulty scaling to make progression more obvious, but we had to settle for our tutorial video due to the time constraints.
A lot of fun! Really enjoyed the art style! It got a little hectic but was fun. Duck cracked me up lol
Wow, nice artstyle, reminds me of Iron Lung. The game's fun , tricky at first but it gets fun after gaining confidence, I loved the duck lol. A thing you could improve could be the audio, that gets a little bit repetitive after a while. Oh, and I think I've only hit civilians because I didn't quite get the assignment lol
