I liked the player control and the pacing of going underwater. The ending was a bit too tedious. The sound design was awesome.

Hey, bembrooks!

Loved the adventure under the sea! The player's animation and how it controlled so smoothly underwater were great! I really dig the artstyle.

Overall, a really satisfying experience :)

Cheers and best of luck in the jam!

I enjoyed the game! the bubbles were very satisfying and like some others said - great vibe :)

Hi! I love the art! How did you manage to make the bubbles go up and animate altogether?

The controls are interesting since there are two modes. Interesting! I like the overall vibe of the game:)

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I actually used unity's particle systems to make the bubbles. Instead of using a single image you can use a sprite sheet animation which I hand-drew, then it was just a matter of playing with the physics settings until I got them exactly how I liked them.

Looks great i like what you did with the Paritcle Effects.

Great game, I loved the art and animations. The character controller was also perfect for underwater, it was really satisfying to control.

I really love the art, but I can't see how it relates to the theme.

hello, I watched your game, and it has very cool animation, music and like the movement of the character, the game is just fire !!!!!!

Great art, love the storytelling and I especially enjoyed how the music slowly started and became louder when you started to descend.

Great submission! It's horror undertones were awesome, and the story and it's method of telling were great! The character sprite is probably my favorite piece of art I've seen in the jam so far. I do wish that the movement was faster, and I can see how the storytelling method *could* be said to fit the theme, but I wish it was a little more connected to it. Regardless, those are small things! Fantastic submission!

Developer

Wow, thanks! I really appreciate that. I definitely worked hard on the character animations. My use of the theme was a little abstract I  admit. My aim was to make a game where the mechanics were really stripped down so you could focus on the story and atmosphere, a la design by subtraction, but the story itself definitely could have been on theme a little more, I agree. Thanks for playing!

Really cute graphics and animations, I also wish that the movement was a bit faster. But overall a nice submisson, couldnt get why it fits the theme though...

Really cool game! Love the little hints of cosmic horror, movement is a bit too slow for me, could be nice if using the oxygen tank to hover would be faster but riskier

Really polished game with brilliant story telling. The graphics speak for themselves. A solid entry. Congrats🎉

Cool, the sound, music and layers create a great sense of depth

So... this is one very polished game. Definitely sell the experience of mystery and creepiness along the way; and when I realized the journal entries are in reverse order, I realized the amount of effort put in the worldbuilding.

Some bad news though... A gigantic bug:

I cannot access the passage leading to the log entry for Day 5. I want to know what the journal says D:

Also... I think during the course of playing I wish the character could move a little bit faster. Either that or the problem is that the world is simply too big. I guess I can understand the idea of making it big in order for the game to be kind of impressive, but during the latter parts of the game, retracing corridors to retrieve all the journals is just painful. I think aside from the ones that I couldn't access in the corridor to Day 5's entry, I also missed a few pink orbs -- but I do not want to retrace all my steps again to find all the pink orbs I missed due to the character's speed/world size.

Developer

Thank you for the review and the kind words!

Oof,  I can't believe I  missed that passage being too small all the way to uploading... thank you for pointing that out! I'll be sure to patch it once the jam is over. I think upping the player's speed might also be a good addition. I wanted you to be able to take in the atmosphere, but I can see that being tedious. Thanks again for playing and leaving such a helpful review

Will definitely be looking forward to it. I want to know that log entry for Day 5...

(I guess asking it to be typed here would be too much ^_^)

I love the music, and the parallaxing and particle effects were way cool as well
