Hey there, I played through your game in this video at 25:25

Clever and quite promising idea for a puzzle game. Movement feels a bit slow though and the window of time to execute certain actions is really small, which is especially frustrating as you have to do the whole level again, if you fail. Rotation of the cube is hardly necessary as of now. Probably would have been better to show just one side of the cube at each time - that would also fit the theme better!

This is a really good and original use of perspective.  One side of the cube is the playfield and the others show what will happen next. Though I think the lasers was quite unpredictable, I think you would grasp their behaviour if the game was a bit longer.

The only problem is the very questionable connection to the theme. If you want a good score, you better have a strong connection to the theme.

The concept is really original which is great! However I would maybe preffer for the game to be a little faster. The graphics are good as well as the music! Good job!

Pretty cool game. I think maybe the link to the theme is a little tenuous... Maybe it would have been more fitting if the player could only see one side of the cube at a time rather than two? I think that might have been a bit better gameplay-wise too, as usually if you can see two sides you can pretty much see everything that's happening.

It's a neat idea though, I really liked the style and the level design was pretty smart! Good stuff!

Nice game.  At first I thought it was going to be a fez like game but no the rotation purpose is to let you see the laser pattern :)

The difficulty ramps up a bit too fast, and the level design is a bit frustrating : in level 3 for instance there is a lot of waiting, and once you know the solution it is tedious to do it, because you only get one second to move because only one cube blocks the laser.

Also I didn't really see a connection with the theme.

Overall the idea is nice, the level design might need to be polished :)

Awesome game!p
I like the well-designed cube. They just like a precise mechine which you need to take time to figure out how it works and plan your next move. Love this idea.
Maybe adding some moving gear or conveyor belts or other which can help player to understand the structure of the cube would make the game even better. (of course, fully understand it's asking too much to a gamejam game. Maybe a arrowhead will do the trick as well for gamejam : ))
Overall, great job!

Thanks for playing!
Your idea about adding something to indicates the structure of the cube sounds great! It was on our minds too. Sadly we were still adjusting levels at the last minute so we couldn't add it in time. Anyway, thanks again for playing and your inputs! 😄

Cool idea - definitely difficult at times. Really good execution and theme.  Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you like it. 😀

I liked how intense it got by the second button press level, and how well the music was matched with the pacing.

Developer

Thanks for playing!
The second level is intense for sure. Fun fact: some of us (myself included) took dozens of tries to beat it. 😅

Really cool puzzle game! My only complaint is that it doesn't really seem necessary to change your perspective to solve the puzzles. You can just watch and follow the laser patterns. I still enjoyed the game a lot though! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

And yeah, the idea we had was to have something like pressure plates that have to be switched on and off affecting multiple sides of the cube, so that you have to be aware of all the things happening on all sides.

I will +1 with that ‘perspective’ thing. Maybe you could use a new dimension for the puzzles (rotate the players cube also)

Really cool looking puzzle game! Even with Only One shape, the puzzles are really interesting! Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks for playing!
Truth be told, the reason it turns out looking like this have a lot to do with how all four of us are programmers 😂. So we have to find a way to make the game looks presentable without having to do a lot of (if any) assets. We are happy with how it turns out, glad you do too!

Hahahahah, that’s great! You guys found the Way, nicely done and definetly fit the theme. Congrats!

simply awesome !!

Thank you for your comment.
The message that we would like to send to player in the 'only one' theme is "how you going to reach the goal while can look at only one perspective at time when another perspective also have an action too".
We would like player to know all information but when come to play,  player will need to memorize the information that player can't see visually to combine with what they already see now.
By the way,  thank you for point out that our design still ambiguous. We will improve and working more on clarify the message and theme inspired in the next game jam  :D

We're very appreciated.
