Great game! It felt great to play and I always felt like getting hit was my fault. I only have two bits of criticism. The first is that "0.9 fire rate" means nothing without context. All the other upgrades gave percentages, and I wish that did too, like "10% shot delay reduction" or something like that. As I'm typing this I realized it might be a 0.9 multiplier, but I didn't realize that at all in game. The second super minor problem is that your health doesn't animate in sync, and while that's probably something no one else would care about, it's kinda distracting to me. Still, fantastic job overall!

Awesome game! Really polished and love the details - all the particles, the subtle lighting behind characters, the screenshake & sfx. I'm sure you already considered things like a custom cursor and making the player's bullets / sprite a little varied color-wise from enemies for readability.

Great work and it was very hype when the boss appeared!

I completed the game, went on to round 36.

The game is super fun, controls feels good, there are quite some different enemies including a two-phase boss and plenty of nice bullet patterns, fire rate (and blocking) progression is real, the difficulty is right.

Very well-rounded game, thanks for sharing.

\m/ è_é Total banger !

This was tons of fun to play, and the difficulty felt quite well balanced, they may be just monochrome but these enemy sprites have tons of charm, seriously those flaming gnomes are badass :p

And wow that music goes SO HARD ! I really digged it even the Menu theme got me hyped right from the start XD

Also quite impressive that you’ve got such enemy variety and a multi phased bossfight :o

One small nitpick, i think it would be cool to have a crosshair instead of just the mouse cursor, cause you can loose track of it quite quickly when things get chaotic.

Other then that, Great entry, Well done to you guys :)

the game is simple. but somehow hook my attention and make me play it several times. so i guess it's a good game

trying to open the game seems to murder my mac and makes me have to force quit, I've tried about 3 times and each time it lags to the point where I can't open a new tab.

Developer

Sorry about that, I’m using Godot 4 which I believe has issues with web builds for Mac at the moment :/

Wow, absolutely stellar presentation! The pixel graphics are excellent and expressive, and the animations and particle effects add so much life to the game. The core gameplay loop, leveling system, and crumbling arena all work together to make a very addictive, replayable game. Simply excellent work!

WOW! Astonishing game, really well game. Everything in this game is really well put together and its so fun to play. I love the mechanic of the stage getting smaller, really nice use of the theme. The visuals especially are really cool, you should be proud.

One suggestion would be to disable the ability for players to pick an upgrade for a second or something when it first appears or have a small animation as the menu shows up. I accidently clicked an upgrade not knowing it was gonna show up because I was clicking the fire button so much haha! Minor thing though. Overall, excellent game!

Nice work! Felt really nice to play though if I had to give a feedback it'd to make the upgrade clearer. At first when I saw 0.8 firerates I thought it sucked since the number was low but in the end it's a significant upgrade. Maybe put it into a percentage in comparaison to your current upgrade instead.

Very fun! The difficulty is just right in my opinion! The was also really get me on the edge too!

very nice game.  Sometimes I got stuck on the walls because I couldn't see them at the time of the action.

Pretty fun overall, only real gripes is that the game could really use an autofire toggle since you’re basically holding down the trigger the entire game, and that not only are player and enemy bullets the same color - the player’s bullets are drawn on top of the enemy’s bullets.

This is a really great game, feels super nice to play. My main feedback would be to make the player bullet a different color from enemy bullets because i’d lose track of enemy bullets easily while shooting. Nice work!

Cool game, I really like the game feel and music.

so perfect, obsessed with the visuals and love how much impact you can feel with the bullets !

This game is really incredible. You created a nice roguelike. The only complaint is about the particle effect. There are too much particle effect which hide the enemy's bullets.
