Really cool idea for the theme! It really makes you go hard on the enemies and that makes it more challenging and fun. Great job!

Cool! The energy drain mechanic forces you to fight the enemies in a more aggresive way and that gives a frantic pace to the game. As a result I found myself trying and trying again, so I've to say you made a very addictive game. Good job. Congrats! :)
Great work for a first solo game! The idea was cool! I think the pixel art was a bit blurry which made the experience a little bad. If that would've been fixed, it would've been really much better! Really good job mate! I found the idea to be slowed down with each bullet shot to be interesting af!
Good implementation of the theme ^^
The energy drain system is a cool concept, i just feel you went a bit overboard with how fast the energy drains compared to how much you gain back for enemy kills and the time it takes to kill them, the speed loss when low on energy also makes it quite hard to get a chance to bounce back with a last chance refill.
I don’t know how Unity handles this, but if possible i feel it would be better to not have interpolation on your sprites as it gives a very blurry effect on pixel art, and i’d say you could add a bit more feedback for enemy deaths like a small explosion or something to spice things up, but other than that i like what you did with the very retro arcade style sidepannels.
It’s a solid base keep at it :)
Interesting central idea that I think you can refine into something really unique. I would recommend adding more enemies to drain and slowing down the energy drain process so that your ship doesn't become immobile too quickly. But overall, this is a great start!
Cool idea, the energy drain is brutal though, very difficult especially do to the loss of speed. otherwise great job, super unique graphics.
I like vibes from the game, i think you can easy improve game with some post-procesing from unity . Overall it was fun , good job!
yeah haha the death sound was kind of a last minute addition so that's why its not mixed correctly, there used to be more sfx but they were a casualty of time as they didn't work well with the music so I just had to throw them out unfortunately as i did not have enough time to make them work. Anyway enough ranting about my failures thanks for the feedback!
The energy drain feel a bit too difficult to play with. It's quite hard to comeback if your energy is below a certain point. Maybe instead of punishing the player for having low energy what about try buffing them up when high energy instead? (more shot, higher speed , etc).
The idea is interesting, I like the incentive to keep fighting to survive or else its game over, no sitting around and waiting, however currently its very hard to progress
Character art reminds me of classic early 2000s flash games, love that
The slowing of the movement speed while your energy gets lower feels very oppressive gameplay wise.
The music was pleasant and I liked the control scheme. The gameplay was decently fun when wasn't moving at a snails pace trying to get a little bit more energy.
Overall it was still a pretty decent entry.
I really enjoyed the music and the energy system is interesting. There were times when the movement started feeling too slow and I don't really like slow movement that much. Besides that the game was enjoyable - a bit difficult (I couldn't get past wave 2 and maaaaay have had a slight rage quit because I just suck at these types of games) - but still a lot of fun!
I like the music a lot and the character art is cool, game is fun but i found that because the ship is so slow with low energy, I had to kinda do a perfect run or I would fail, so my runs would be over pretty quick
