This game looks really good, the background and sprite look fantastic, the particle effects on the grass is a really nice touch, there are diverse areas and even a sewer and water area which is a lot of content. The world itself actually is MASSIVE, there really is a ton of content, an impressive amount actually but maybe a bit to much for a gamejam. The swimming animation is super cute btw.

Transitioning the music (And showing area names on screen) between areas is a really nice way to split them up atmospherically (Is that a word?). In general there is a lot of I think meta polish to this entry, lots of little touches that make it feel like a complete experience, even optional collectibles.

My primary feedback is on the physics of your character controller. Some minor feel touches like coyote time and a few other bits of gameplay feel juice would have been good, and the jump arc feels a bit to abrupt to me, gravity accel needs to be applied gradually imo to get a really nice feeling of hang time, but a lot of this is personal preference or minor tweaks that don't detract from the experience at all.

Really nice work, a fantastic entry!

Amazing job! The art, sound, and gameplay were all great. I think I got the gnomed ending, I got all 6 gnomes and went through the portal. I think my biggest critique is that is was very easy to get lost, some sort of tab to display mini-map would've been nice if you had more time. Overall very impressed.

I finished it but that was too long

youse needs some coyote time

very good art

Cute pixelart!

Not so forgiving platforming though ) Had feeling that I can't jump from edge of platform, often fell down. It was fun experience any way.

This was really fun! I explored moving around the map, there were many cool platform areas to explore. I hope you add some variation to the locations in the post-jam version because I would love to see different scenery for the forest area!

I got the gnomes, the red key and a moon coffee \o/ really really fun platformer! I saw you said you're increasing the res after the Jam, I think that's a really good idea! :)

Nice platformer with a very big map area! Agreeing with some other comments, the weird water physics are a bit shocking (and definitely scuba diving cats are strange). Nice character desing, Considering the cartoony feeling I would have tried to give him a bit of character like a random blink or an extra secondary animation other than the head bobbing and the tail that gave him a bit more personality. The bg parallax could handle a bit more shift… it moves relatively so slow you almost don’t notice the 1px shift you get once in a while (or at least I felt like getting a 1px displacement from time to time while moving)

Globally a very nice entry, with catchy music, good visuals and great gameplay, on a big well designed map (though the sewers were a bit confusing…). Excellent entry!

Good platformer. But I noticed something weird, I think that it's a bug. I only had 4.99 dollars when I came to a place where a gnome was drinking coffee and I won even though I didn't have 5 dollars. Is it a bug or is it of purpose? I didn't like when the water in one place was taller than in a place next to it (I'd call it ,,water stares" or ,,water ladder"). That's against basic physics. I also missed some music. Otherwise a nice game that was longer than other game in this jam.

Congratulations on making this game !

I've played your game during a live that you can watch here :

The live is timestamped so you can go directly to your game.

I hope the feedback and live reactions will be useful. Keep it up !

I’m amazed at all the takes on games. Yours is excellent. The art is superb and the gameplay action very pleasing. I could throw the soundtrack on and background work music!

Well done, Roberto!  I am very proud!  I managed to get $5.01 and 6/6 gnomes!

But for real, excellent job with the tile maps, the different zones (and the music in each zone), the graphics, and the controls/physics .  I loved the overall aesthetic of the game with almost everything being dark blue, the cat inverting colors when it was in swim mode, etc.  My only tiny little complaint is that I wish the gnomes and keys would have also fit into the blue/dark-blue color scheme.  20/20 for me!

I played this one before the jam was over and it was interesting. Discovering the world and how it was connected was very fun, and the platforming never felt too clunky even despite the small size of the screen. The lack of a failure state served this game well. I found all the gnomes and got the secret ending, although this entailed a lot of wandering around areas over and over to find exactly where I left a gnome, key, or extra penny. Some sort of navigational aid or per-zone collectible tally might have mitigated that (although given the jam constraints such things would become stressful to implement). The graphics were very pleasant except for some missing tiles around the edges of the level. Having music tracks added to the game for each separate area also helps add a lot of charm.

Wow! That's what I call a well-earned coffee. The heck!
I wasn't able to complete the game, because it's soooooo varied and labyrinthic (nice!)

An easy mode with some visual clues would be nice. I don't know how many times I visited the same room XD. I ended up with 5 gnomes and 3.75 coins.

Arrrg! I wished I was able to open that red door in the forest with a (j) letter, as well as that corridor with a gnome painted in it. It looks like cool surprises are hidden behind them.

Great and funny game.
Loved that you didn't try to include any damage mechanics or something like that.
Except for falling and having to retry some sections, it felt very relaxed and enjoyable.

I remember when a cat could buy a cup of coffee for 30 cents. Great stuff, Roberto. Looks and sounds good. The controls feel fluid and the 64x64 constraint doesn't feel restrictive. The world feels big and fleshed out. Good use of space in the level designs too. I could picture myself sitting down to play this for a long session on an old GBA.

Love the creative design in this game! The gameplay is very smooth and satisfying. Collecting coins and bones is fun and challenging. I think more story elements would have been sweet. Overall nice job!

Cool art style! I got lost in sewer, but could find my way up hopefully. Having a coyote time feature on main character would probably be nice because I had pain jumping sometimes, haha. But overall I enjoyed collecting coins here and there , and meeting these gnomes. I could do anything for a coffee. :P

Really fun and I loved the art style!

Wow, I am honestly super impressed with how much fun and gameplay you were able to cram into a 64x64 grid of pixels. Controls are tight, animation and audio are great, and just walking around and collecting things feels fun. Fantastic work and congrats on completing the jam :)
