Did you work in a team?
I worked as a solo dev!
Was the resolution a challenge?
I used GB Studio to make a Gameboy game, which has to run at at least 160x144. It was challenging conforming the game to this screen size and it was also challenging working with so many of GB Studio's unexpected quirks and limitations.
What did you learn?
I learned to make a project that is playable. The challenge of forcing myself outside of my comfort zone to learn pixel art, game design, and time management was worth the stress.

First thought was this would be somewhat akin to Alcahest, but then it’s a totally different thing ;) The game mechanics are a bit simple and the lack of sound makes each turn to dig a bit into your interest… Nice gfx and the treasures and training/resting are a nice rpg-ish touch. It’s a good base for something bigger if you consider expanding on the idea!
The visuals are indeed very well made but gameplay wise is too simple, I just ended up spamming to damage shield and then health. I liked the idea of resting or increasing stats tho.
Hmm, it is hard to understand what i need to do and what happening on the game screen. Buttons and labels are ok, but i wanted more clearer explanation of what player can and must do. Thank you for the game!
I found the concept easy to grasp once I saw a few turns play out. Great work on the graphics, very nice. I did however get absolutely STOMPED by the second fight, so not sure if I did something wrong but played twice and same thing happened. Maybe I missed something, or trained the wrong stat?
Anyway, this is a good entry, good work getting it working in GB studio, that must have been quite challenging at times
Very good graphics! I love the pallet and the when they change :)
Also, I think they way you used the screen works! Maybe we can see more games made on the GB studio on future LowRezJams :D. Overall very good job!
I like the graphics and gameplay they are good :)
I think there are some really fun ideas here! Excellent work, especially for being your first game!
Very nice game! Loved the visuals and the overall concept was quite confusing to figure out what to do.
+1 to clearer tutorial. I was confused what to do. But the visuals are compelling. Onward!
I definitely like the concept of the game, but I had a bit of a hard time figuring out the gameplay. Maybe a slightly more in depth tutorial would help (or even some info on the game page I could reference while I play).
Over all pretty cool entry!
Visuals in the game are absolutely fantastic. Color palette is beautiful and so were all the dialog transitions.
Tutorial was a bit complicated and I wanted to get into the action right away. And of course, because I didn’t take the time to read through the tutorial, I was a little lost on how to play (though I did enjoy experimenting and seeing how the art/animation played out).
Visuals have a good vibe, however, it was a bit hard to distinguish the player and UI from the background at first. Contrast between them could be a bit higher I guess. Good job!
I really like the visuals in your game and I see really good potential with the gameplay, however I found it kinda confusing to understand what I was supposed to be doing. Fantastic job nonetheless and congrats on finishing for the jam! :)
Thank you!
I've gotten so used to the systems in the game that I forgot to spend time making them clear! That'll be my next goal in a future update.
