This is, by far one of the most creative game of them all !
This idea that you can "roll" the dice as many times as you have sides is brilliant !

My only nitpick is that the jump button being on the up-arrow is super junky.

The art, music and sound are fantastic too !
Great submission !

Developer

Thanks! You can use the z button as well, its a bit weird how PICO-8 works with inputs.

Awesome presentation and I really liked the movement! Also nice to see a pico game :D

The only nitpick I had is that it wasn't clear to me what the dice 3-6 do exactly... Is it upgrading the number of wall jumps?

Developer

Thank you! You are correct :)

Excellent game. Platforming was tricky but very satisfying when I pulled off a jump. The game also looks and sounds great.

Developer

Thank you! :)

Awesome gameplay with good visual. Really fun although the jump is quite difficult

Cool metroidvania, i like it

Thanks :)

Very cute, perfect length and difficulty. It felt sorta like a mix of standard platformers and getting over it-type games. Very fun

Developer(+1)

Thank you, happy to hear it! Was going for a more "physical" platformer so may fit as a good description :)

Really well made, but the jumping was really weird.

How to get rid of this soundtrack in my head now, catchy)
The game plays nicely and even muted my hatred for dice a little)

Developer

hahah thanks, then I am happy!

The mechanics and presentation are really well done... I definitely wish my platformer was this good, though! For a 48-hour jam game, this is actually really awesome!

Developer

Thank you! Your game definitely looks cool as well, will play it :)

Brilliant game with a simple mechanic executed so well. I love seeing a great pico 8 game. Nice job

Developer

Thank you! :) Pico8 is awesome for game jams

Awesome art and fluid gameplay! I feel like you nailed the platformer part, and the metroidvania bits are just a cherry on top! My only complaint would be that some jump timings felt a bit too stiff, perhaps you can slightly increase the wall distance? Otherwise, amazing game!

Developer

Thank you! The wall timings are actually pretty big, but maybe they need to be bigger! Or the game need to move a bit slower 😅

I saw this game on twitter, luckily I found it during the rating phase. I actually had a really, really good time playing this game. The only thing that bothers me is controlling the wall jump. It feels very clunky. I love that you did a Metroidvania though. All of the upgrades have felt very rewarding. Overall i think this is a outstanding submission. Amazing job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!
I could have probably made a wall slide instead to make it more controllable, but I tried to make it a bit more unique.
Sometimes it works out, sometimes not.

Submitted

The game was nice but I hard a hard time controlling the player, it felt like I was flying through the air like a paper airplane that wants to explode but can’t. I also felt like I was controlling a drunk imp. I like the visuals and sound design too!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!
Sorry to hear that.
I tried to make it a bit momentum-based, but it seems like its not what you like / did not work out!

Submitted

I knew it was momentum based but some areas were difficult to play through since the dice’s wall jumps were hard to do… But still, it’s a nice game you made with conviction and honesty!

Submitted

I love the visuals and effects.Good job!

by the way could you play and rate my game?

Developer

Thank you! I can!

Great gameplay, amazing retro vibe! One of the few jam games i actually finished :)

Developer

Thank you! :)
Tried to make a small but a complete package, so happy it turned out great then :)

Submitted(+1)

I loved it and finished it. But it was sometimes really hard aha. 5 stars

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yep, I tend to make hard games :D
At least this time I had some playtesting before releasing the game :)

One of my favorite games in the jam so far. Love the look and sound of Pico games in general, no exception here. The character movement also feels great, it feels very Meat Boyish. I will say the room with the water after you first obtain walljump is a tad difficult -- especially since you're a little confused on how the die mechanic works -- it takes some time to realize that you can jump pretty much any time in mid-air again, but only after you touch a wall first, and that's what the extra die sides are for.

But I think when my biggest criticism is that I wish there was more of it, I think then you've done a pretty good job!

Developer

Thank you so much!

I agree, I could have added a room or two before this tricky room to ease in the player of the wall jump mechanic!
