Very good graphics and music!
Thank you very much! Our artist and audio producer both popped off. You wouldn't believe the audio producer did all that in just a couple of days.
I really like the art! And nice relaxing story.
We appreciate the compliments on the art! I'm glad you found the story to be relaxing c: We wanted it to be a nice lil experience.
Awesome mechanic with the word-grabbing! Sadly, I walked off the edge of the map so I couldn't finish the game. One thing I thought about was that the text was a bit hard to read sometimes since the rows had a tendency of floating over each other. Other than that, really good game!
Another victim of the dreaded walk-off...I'm sorry that happened to you, and we'll make sure the updated version doesn't have that very unfortunate cliff. We'll be working on fine-tuning the words as well so they're easier to read and reach.
Cool graphics and unique mechanics, but I had issues with cursor not being locked, making it pretty annoying to reach for stuff sometimes.
Great work overall!
Boutheina 1.1 will definitely have an update to the cursor locking. Thank you very much for playing!
This seemed like a cute entry, though unfortunately I ran into a number of bugs which made it very difficult to play through till the end:
Mechanical issues aside, this was great, it had a lot of fun art and ideas!
Omg I never even put anything to block them from the left at the start... What a rookie mistake smh my head. We'll definitely be fixing how the cursor dragging works, and I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with Ms. Garbara the frog miniboss. I'll be sure to fix that when we update the game as well. Thank you for playing and for your compliments about the art and ideas!
You got a lot done for a jam game. I really like that atmosphere resulted from some great art in combination with the music. I also ran into the out of bounds bug someone else has already reported. Nice thing about this jam is that if your game has bugs then that just fits the theme. Hope you do a post jam update.
The dreaded death cliff...We'll definitely do a post jam update, and I hope you return to play the bug-full yet (hopefully) bug-free experience. We're glad you enjoyed the art and the music. Our artist and music producer always pop off. They're insane
Wow this is incredible! The animations and sounds and story, there is so much life here - incredible work! I’m blown away!
Thank you so much for the kind words!
This is lovingly created and clearly a lot of work. You’ve put a lot of effort and skill in and the result shows.
I thought the flower stem grabbing words rather than items in the environment was a lost opportunity tbh, but even still the words appeared in a nice way, although the waving made them harder to read at times.
Regrettably I ran in to a bug fairly early on… After the tutorial when you jump across the swinging lift/bridges I appeared to go right off the end of the screen. I found a frog talking after that on the ground to the left; but my character was somewhere offscreen or invisible.
I also had some difficulty with the mouse bounds, I have a dual screen setup and was playing on an ultra wide screen. Because the mouse was hidden but never repositioned I couldn’t see my cursor but could regularly go offscreen edges making some words hard to grab without first using my second monitor to position my mouse right in the corner/edge and then having enough movement across the screen to reach the word.
Say it ain't so...yet another lost Boutheina bug. We're gonna make sure to fix how the mouse works when Boutheina is updated. Thank you for playing and your comments and compliments!
The mechanics is unique and the quality of the art is beyond one you would expect in a game jam. There's quite a few different items available even though it's development time is short. The way text pops up is pretty interesting too.
I want to point out a few bugs I've encountered:
As for some criticisms:
Still, most of the criticisms are just nit-picky. The quality of the game far exceeded my expectations and is very enjoyable to play. Great job on the jam!
Thank you so much for playing and giving such a comprehensive review!! It's absolutely invaluable to us. The text and stem mechanics can definitely be iterated further and thank you for pointing out some bugs as well! Really grateful you took the time to play and write this out. C: Hope you enjoyed it anyways!
Amazing art and concept! However I didn't get very far in the game because I kept having trouble with the flower drawing part. It seems like there's a bug where the position of my cursor is a huge offset away from where the flower is. I tried to move the character around to help with that a little bit but eventually gave up. Maybe a visible cursor would help in the case. :(
Thank you for playing! Definitely the stem drawing could be polished and a visible cursor is a very good comment we will keep in mind. I believe the flower drawing gets a little easier by upping the sensitivity and playing in full screen if you would like to get further in the game-- but nonetheless, thank you so much for playing and reviewing! C:
5 star game overall, very polished and big effort has gone into this, gameplay is smooth, audio was completely awesome and so was the graphics, congratulations for this!
Thank you so much!! We're so glad you like the whole aesthetic of the game. Thank you for rating and for playing!!
one of my favs so far, really loved the art and the control was really interesting!

may or may not closed firefox while playing accidentally tho hahahaha
Oh no!!! Not the dreaded Browser Close. xD Really glad you liked it anyways (and thanks for sticking through the browser close as well)!
What a nice game! The artwork is amazing and it has some very innovative gameplay. Great job!
Thank you so much for playing and enjoying the game! C:
I really love the artwork.
I could not figure the "word" thing out until I looked at one of the screenshots :-)
Good job
Thank you for playing! Our artist is very happy that people are enjoying it as well. C: The word grabbing definitely takes a little bit to get used to, haha. Thanks again!
This is amazing! I love the art, the gameplay and the story! Very nice entry!
Thank you so much for enjoying it!! :D
Cool concept and creative use of the "words" play. The art used is also very beautiful.
However, sorry to say I encounter a bug in which I cannot continue.
I've recreate the situation and encounter that again in my playthrough below:
Wow, thanks for recording it! That area was actually meant to be entirely inaccessible-- i.e. the platform was meant to be completely unreachable and only act as a wall. So the area beyond is the Great Unknown that has nothing set up haha. Thank you for playing and recording as well! :0
Really interesting mechanic and absolutely beautiful art! In particular, the backgrounds and platforms are gorgeous. Like the other commenters, I encountered some bugs and had difficulty using the touchpad to guide the stem. I also wished there was a way to advance through dialog quickly if you've heard it before. Overall, great entry!
Thank you so much for playing! Yes, unfortunately the game is pretty exclusively optimized for mouse-- I'm very sorry it didn't offer the same experience for you. :< That's a very good comment on the dialogue as well! Thank you again. C:
These graphics are great and the gameplay is very unique. Glad I found this one.
We're really glad you liked it (and glad you found it)!! Thank you for playing!!
Very original concept, and polished art ! Nice game.
Thank you!! Our artist thought of the base concept as well-- she's very happy about the reception haha.
Awesome concept, very original. Bravo!
Thank you so much! We're glad you like it!! <3
