Quite a lot of good art, animation, and detail for 72 hours (the control screen looked rushed however). Music and sound was also pretty good. I think the gameplay actually did a pretty good job depicting how competitive and brutal the life of a bug can be. Though, in my play through, a lot of the mate-able bugs were clustered off on the left side of the screen, away from the competition, which made it kind of easy. I really enjoyed the humor of dedicated "headbutt" and "mate" buttons. Good work :)

I did spend the entire first day in the art work. A lot of what you see in the game is just the same image repeated but colored differently with minor touch ups. A lot of the game was rushed for sure. The bugs all spawn at random so you probably got lucky, but the randomize in game maker doesnt always feel very random, that is something I would definitely fix. Thanks for checking it out.
Really interesting take on the theme. I like how no expense was spared on making an environment fit for a bug, spiders will eat you, ants will eat you. Everything looks real nice too. I feel like I can make a haiku out of this insect sex simulator. I think I will actually.

I actually tried to make the penis as inconspicuous as possible, while still present, out of respect for the game jam rules, and an attempt to avoid the inference that this is a game about sex more so than a overall picture of a bugs life(after its larval stage), as it was meant to be perceived.
Thank you for your comment!
Great job with the pixel art! I love how the bugs go spinning away when you hit them. And the soft music ads a nice touch.
