This is one of my personal favourites so far! The artstyle is so cute, the concept and overall world is ultra wholesome and the controls are tight and precise too. At first I didn't notice the game was supposed to be endless, because it wasn't until e(lf)-mail number 50 that the phrases started to repeat.
It was so satisfactory and chill to play that I spent a little while more bouncing and delivering mails until 76. Also the pigeons were a nice touch. Pretty solid game, congratulations!

Thank you so much - really glad you enjoyed your time! Our current iteration has even more cute messages, so we better make sure to let players know if it's endless!

An overall well made and fun platformer! The controls and movement were really satisfying and the art and music were quite pleasant! Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much <3

I had a really chill and fun time with this one. The controls felt really good, the art is amazing, and the little flourishes all over the world really made it come alive. I loved the idea of joining together people separated by distance through e(lf)-mail, really brought to mind the Hilda comics and Netflix show. I had a lovely time with this one!

By the way, we played your game on our stream tonight!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so so much!  We watched your stream, it was so great to get to see someone else try the game for the first time <3 And yes, all three of the creators love Hilda hahaha, definitely an art style inspiration :D

I enjoyed playing it. The animations were so simple, but the count of the animation frames is just awesome. You made a really good job of animating all of those movements for that short period of time. Good job!

I didn't like one little thing still. At the start, you teach how to deliver mails, and it feels like I ended up 1 level and it should be a level system in the game. But the next level is unlimited. I didn't realise it at first, and I tried to figure out what I am doing wrong that I can't finish the level.

Maybe you can do the "teaching" phase in 1 single level then, so the player will just continue playing it. Or maybe, even better, if you can separate the game into different levels, so there will be a progression system.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it. Thank you!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! <3  We would love to continue working on the game and make levels :)

This was really relaxing, although I stopped at 100 because it got pretty repetitive. The presentation is absolutely perfect and I like how you get positioned on a platform if your double jump didn't quite make it.

Developer(+1)

Oh my gosh!  You may be a record holder!  The mail-elves thank you for your hard work <3  But yes, we would love to add a level system :)

Loved the Art. Everything is so cute and bright. Lovely.

You can flesh the concept a bit more post the review, great job.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Teaser:

Super wholesome take on the theme, and lovely vibes in general! Favourite touches were the double jump animation (so satisfying!) and the music. Probably had one of the best-feeling jumps out of the games I've played in this game jam so far (that arc is hard to get right), and the tutorial for the controls and mechanics was extremely well done. 10/10 very cozy experience, would recommend.

The recipe for a good game is that each feature, independently of the others, should be fun and rewarding to play and your game is a good example of this. The charming platforming that leaves room for the player, the curiosity to know the content of the next elf-mail, the general calm and lovely atmosphere (sound, art, pigeons). It's a great realization in such a limited time.

Great job :3

I really enjoyed the art style and the platforming was very well done. Cute game with a fun twist of the theme!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you liked the approach. :)

Adorable protagonist! It is fun running around & platforming in this world, very charming art style. Cant wait to see what you add to the game after this jam, what do you think of adding extra challenge with time limit or something? Anyway, excellent work! :)

Developer(+1)

Definitely a great idea! Glad you liked it :)

The art is well done and the sound design matches the game perfectly
Well done!

This game is unbelievable impressive. You got a pretty unique interpretation of the theme. The artwork is awesome and the controls feel great. But the thing I love the most are the f***ng pigeons?!! The game itself already felt polished (at least for a 48h jam) but adding pigeons randomly which do literally nothing for the gameplay gives the game such a calming atmosphere... Really good job!

Developer

LOL thank you! I know what you mean - somehow the pigeons managed to be simultaneously pointless and critical to the experience. :)

I found the movement of the game so pleasing, to just jump around. I thought it looked great, I would say that the camera movement could be smoothed out, it was a bit jerky sometimes. but great stuff.

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

yes I did, hope you can give my entry some feedback.

Art is so cute especially that spin animation on double jump.

control feel good except at the end of zip line.

Developer

Thank you! And yes, we're hoping to smooth out those zipline bugs after the jam.

Very nice little world to jump around in and mail them letters! It feels nice to jump around and very cute graphics! The only "issue" I had was getting stuck at the clotheslines once in a while, apart from that very enjoyable fun game!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, glad you had a good time! :)

jUST wow

That was beyond charming! I can't say more than what's already been said: inspired double jump, fun little messages, great controls, the pigeons! 100% following this game to see where it goes after the jam. Thank you for the experience!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for saying so! It was really fun to work on it and I'm really happy you liked it :)

What a cheerful and comforting experience! I loved how this felt, looked, and sounded :) Everything about it was really beautiful!

I did have some jankiness with the sliding and a few times the collisions felt a bit jarring as I glided across the map, but nothing that a little bit of polish couldn't get rid of post-jam :)

I need to see this continued into a more full-fledged experience!  Good job to all of you on the team!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, a lot of love went into it!

PS: top secret info for you: the post-jam update will have some sparkles. :o

What a wonderful experience. Great animations and the gameplay was very relaxing. I really liked the sound effects for the jumping. When it's timed with the music it sounds like you're adding to the melody which is a great feeling. Definitely can be a full release for sure. Ways I think it could improve:

- Lower the volume on the sound effects. While they are a great pick and are fun to pair with the music, it can get grating with how loud it is and how frequently you need to jump.

- Don't let the player move so much in the air. I found it hard to control the character after jumping and would sometimes miss the landing because I tapped the arrow key and went flying off to the side.

Honestly though I thought it was the best game of the jam so far and I this could (and should!) be iterated upon into a full release. Really great work.

Developer

Thank you - really glad you  enjoyed it! I was doing music mixing and made the mistake of  never trying earbuds in the 48 hours - definitely a lesson learned for next time!
The air momentum was a tough balance between feeling very floaty and whimsical, versus precise control - thanks for your input, it's helpful to know which way on the scale we tended to lean as we fine-tune the game further.
