It's a cool idea, but I think it's too hard to control.

Submitted

Very nice idea! The controls are a bit hard to get used to, but that was a great game overall!

Developer

Thank you!

once i eventually got used to slipping and sliding everywhere, i did begin to enjoy it pretty decently; i liked the last puzzle too. cool game!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it and actually finished the game. That was exactly my aim in making this game to make it easy to learn but hard to master :) <3
P.S. There is a special easter egg at the very start if you would like to push your skills even further ;)

what a nice idea + execution!

Developer

Thank you glad you liked both!

I think using a spring coil was a really cool idea, its simple but it really adds to the challenge of the game.

Developer

Thank you that's exactly what I was going for keeping it simple while having a proper challenge, glad you recognized and enjoyed it! :)

Cool idea with nice execution.

Developer

Thank you!

Very neat mechanic, but having the non-selected slime slide all over the place makes it very hard to control. Maybe locking the non-selected slime in place and having the spring effects only affect the currently selected one might help. Nice work :)

Developer

I actually do have a similar mechanic in place although looking back on it maybe I haven't mentioned it so clearly :). As it says on the title screen, you can stick the active slime by using shift.  Have you noticed this or? Anyways thank you for your feeback!

Hard to control but nice art work

Developer

Thanks!

The mechanic is fun to play with, the spritework was super cute

Developer

Thank you glad you liked it!

Very nice idea. I like how you made this concept work. Great jam game.

Developer

Thank you!

This was a neat game! It was a little hard to control, but I guess that's the point here, huh? I wonder if it would be easier to control by having one slime be controlled with the arrows keys and the other being controlled with WASD instead of having to switch between the two characters.

Developer (1 edit)

Huh, interesting idea! Will pay more attention to the controls next time. It was kind of the point but at the same time something that came up unexpectedly due to the nature of springs. Thanks for your feedback! <3

Simple idea but implemented well with some of the challenges. Unfortunately, the controls make many of them harder than they need to be. Looks really good, too.

Developer

Thank you for the constructive feedback! Glad you enjoyed the challenges. What did you not like about the controls by the way, the challenge of the spring or the characters general unresponsiveness?

Submitted

No, those felt OK to me, and the challenge of the spring is essential to the game. I meant the control scheme, in that I had to stop and think about what buttons to press, and in what sequence, to get the outcome I wanted. Something more intuitive, maybe WASD and arrow keys simultaneously (instead of switching), would have let me focus on the game instead of the controls. Or maybe it would be better with a controller?

Did you try different control schemes, or was this just the one that made sense and you stuck with it?

Developer

I did try the WASD + arrow keys control scheme, but it was even more confusing for me and this felt more conventional. Maybe that's because I haven't played many games with such a control scheme, but using 10 buttons just felt like too much.

Sure. It's just something to think about in the future, and that I think a lot of people overlook.

Either way, great work!

first of all great job

second I like the mechanic it's just very hard to control

Developer

Thank you :)

Always down for more slime games. I liked the spring mechanic, it reminded me of Knuckles' Chaotix, but it's easier to control here. One problem I had is that sticking to ceilings was really difficult, a lot of the time it seemed to just not work. If some of the issues like that were evened out, this would be really cool.

Developer

Thank you! Honestly, we just went with the slimes cause they were easy to animate but I'm happy you liked it :D. Never heard of Knuckles' Chaotix looks fun though. It feels great knowing you found our game easier to control than SEGA's :). And also I had no idea you could stick to ceilings and tried to make it so that you would only stick to the ground below you, so interesting discovery :D I guess I didn't do a great job explaining where you can stick. Thank you though glad you liked it overall <3

P.S. I still can't manage to stick to the ceiling. How did you do it? :D Could you please send a screenshot if possible?

Submitted

Oh lol, I assumed it was an intentional mechanic

On trying to recreate it, it's much more obvious that it's a bug, here's a gif of it. https://imgur.com/L32EMcn

Developer

Huh, weird... Let me see if I can fix it

Submitted(+1)

Simple idea, very cool execution. I believe that the physics between the characters were on point and I “enjoyed” the clunky controls, it felt like part of the game.

It was also a good idea to add the possibility of sticking the slimes to the ground. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your kind comment! You described exactly what I was going for that they were a part of the game, couldn't have put it better myself :) I'm glad you liked the execution even though I tried to keep the idea simple. Thanks again <3

Submitted

Good idea.  However the physics make them very difficult to control

Submitted

Really cute! Loved the art! The controls were a bit weird at first, but once you get the hang of it it is pleasently enjoyable, even though it can get frustrating at times. Good work!

Developer

Thank you, glad you liked the art!

Submitted

I like the concept but it was a bit clunky to control. Overall a nice game, good job!

Developer

Thank you!

I like the good feel of this games!

The controls are a little hard for me. Expecially the button layout.

Nice graphics by the way!

Developer

Glad you liked the feel and the graphics (made by PaperBarber)!! How would you change the button layout, it doesn't strike me as unusual?

Submitted

A creative take on the theme, but was a bit frustrating to move around. Good work! Sorry I am so bad at your game :\

Developer

:D No worries, I'm the one to blame here, have been playing too many hard games lately. Glad you like the idea though :)
