How does your game fit the theme?
As you progress in the puzzles, you lose control over your ability to directly affect the outcome. You can only set up an initial state and watch as a rules based algorithm transforms your input. Puzzles are solved using indirect control.

The music and sound is a good fit, and while there isn't much to say for art, this game shines in subtle visual details, such as the menu being in a four-by-four grid.

I played the first 10 levels, before things got too tricky, and I honestly think what I played doesn't reflect the theme properly, without explanation

Anyhow, on its own, this is an excellent puzzle game. I was impressed by how well you were able to spin a math theory into such a well designed single player experience!

Interesting idea, good execution!

Not a terrible way to implement a "Game using the Game of Life". Not my thing but still pretty good implementation.

Interesting idea! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Thanks for including it! I've been enjoying your series, keep up the great work!

The UI is really effective on explaining a challenging puzzle like this. Good Job!

Nice twist on a familiar to everybody thing such as GoL. Requires a big brain or a lot of random clicking to complete the levels though.

Maybe graphical design could use some work (choose better colors, make some buttons bigger, etc.) but overall it already plays nice. I like that you can remove the cell you misplaced and that it doesn't reset your inputs, makes it less tedious to test stuff.

Good job!

Really nice take on the game of life. Making it into puzzle game is very creative.

A very brainy puzzle!

Hey I like the concept very much ! And it's quite well executed :) Overral this is the kind of games I dig, and would very well suited for mobile !

Neat puzzle game! Challenging puzzles. I like the clean aesthetic and the music was also nice.

Very interesting puzzles that made me actually think about the mechanics of the game. Had a great time with it!

Interesting approach of a puzzle game! I think it was a solid entry.

it's interesting and it did make me think, yet most of my solutions where kinda random clicking, this might not be the game for me :/

I played through most of this game after the stream last night. I did wind up skipping levels 21 and 25, but really enjoyed it. This was the first I've heard of Conway's Game of Life, but from what I can tell, you've done a great job at gamifying the concept.  Like all great puzzle games, it made me feel like both a genius and an idiot at times and I loved it. I could easily see this benefiting from the mobility of phones and tablets as well. It would be a great on-the-go game.

Hey, thanks for stopping by the stream last night, I rated just now and the VOD is posted here if you're interested:

I liked the puzzle approach instead of the (purely) simulation approach normally associated with this concept. Well done!

fun and challenging puzzle.

wish there are more multi generation level. (1 generation puzzle feel like it not fit the theme).

I really like when I play 4 generation level and get the solution on the  2nd/3rd generation and have to figure out how to shift it to 4th.

The last level is too hard I give up. ( a little ramp up on difficulty on asymmetric puzzle might help?  most of the game is symmetric and suddenly 4 generation asymmetric puzzle appear.)

I love the SFX at work here, y'all did a great job! I wonder if the background music might not be a little bit bombastic for a puzzle game, but that's just my own aesthetic preference.

I think you could have unpacked Rule 3 a little bit to explain just exactly how cells die -- that took me a little bit of time and some careful reading between the lines to grasp.

That, plus I think just a little bit of visual polish on the step-results at the bottom -- make it a little bit larger maybe, and tweak the Question Mark UI elements to make them look a bit cleaner -- you'll basically have this game in the bag. Great work!
