How does your game fit the theme?
You are out of control: both because you are a dog that is free (under no one's control) and because you have no control over your speed, you can just turn, go faster, and jump. Get to the Sea!

This is the best-feeling game I've played in a long time on aesthetics and idea alone. I love playing as an invincible god dog of joy!

I would easily drop money on a polished version of this game, provided y'all added:

  • more levels
  • more things to do in each level
  • maybe a cute animation of the dog swimming around when you hit the ocean (e.g. let the camera finally come off the dog's back and hover above the water as they swim around)

I'm just spitballing, I'm sure y'all could come up with even better ideas than that. Overall, excellent work. I love this dog

Reading the comments I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought I was a cat! I was making cat noises on my big jumps and only realized I was a dog  when I landed. So I had to switch to dog noises.

Anyway, that was a fun ride! I like the low-stakes of it, like how I didn't lose or die or explode (although that would be cool) when I hit an impasse.  The music wrapping up when I hit the sea was a great touch, too. The overall experience left me pretty satisfied.

A dog-vision/rider type game has a lot of potential! Having dog-type obstacles (narrow openings, hoops to jump through, pigeons to scatter) with multiple paths to take could make for an exhilarating and refreshing experience! Nice work!

Really fun! Initially thought it was a cat (it's a very slim dog), but cleared that right up once I started playing. Love the sound & the visuals - wish the controls were a little bit more out of control but it's still a really solid submission.

This game made me feel free. There, I said it!

I just loved it, and there is so much potential behind it. :_)

BTW, 92 seconds is a good time, right? I managed to make an incredibly high and long jump and the doggo just kept running after landing. x)

That's a good start!
I'm keeping track of high scores in this twitter thread. Tweet at me if you beat it. :)

Such a cute game! I love it from the start to the end!

I loved everything about this ha. The serene nature of it was a lovely fit and yet the 'out of control' dog you control still very much fits the theme. There was one point where I had jumped off a roof and the music stopped only to kick back in as I landed. I don't know whether this was intentional but it was definitely a great moment. Very well done.

When I launch the .exe, it says "Could not find "CreateDXGIFactory2" ", can you help me ? Really wanna tri it :). I'm on Windows 7 quad core and good graphic card Nvidia.

Here's a site that has a bunch of potential solutions in it: https://windowsreport.com/procedure-entry-point-createdxgifactory2-not-located/

If you have SweetFX installed, probably start with uninstalling that.

Let me know if you find a solution! Good luck!

As a dog lover - thanks! As a human - the camera made me sick a little bit. Jumping from the roof all the way down was scary, I was too worried about the main hero. Gladly, it can't die!))

Haha I love it ! There are no real stakes, just a doggo running to the sea and I think it’s beautiful. Although there were some features in the world, I feel like you ran out of time ? Still, good job.

Hey that was pretty cool. The download was pretty big but had a fun experience. The wobble on the camera did start to make me feel sick though. I'd enjoy it a lot more with a steadier camera personally.

Overall, pretty cool!

Thanks for playing!
You can turn of nearly all of the camera motion in the main menu. Don't get sick! :)

Oh, another gane that looks amazing but is too big for me to download. I love the image, but my internet is like really bad :(

This reminds me of Sonic or Super Monkey Ball, in a good way. I could see a set of tracks with challenges and collectibles, where people race to get the best time possible while exploring the map. Really good work! It feels nice to see a section up ahead, and try to figure out how to navigate it. I really enjoyed this one.

I adored this! My child really thought it was super fun and hilarious as well :P I think the controls are really well handled, the constrained movement during sprinting, etc. I also think you nailed the actually movement and feeling (I saw the inspiration video you posted).

The assets you did have in looked really nice. You likely know this, but there is some emptyness in the middle, I think it would have been nice to have maybe a smaller area with more density? Overall I loved this!

Thank you for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
The emptiness is the biggest thing I wish I had just a few more hours to finish.
Maybe I'll upload an update once the voting is over. :)

I would definitely play it!

The idea of steering a dog that won't stop is really cute. I really like the unique camera placement and bounciness!

Yes! This is great, freshest take on the platforming roguelike genre in ages. Well done!

I love this game. To be honest, i would buy a game in this style. Light hearted fun and atmosphere.
