Very cute game! I love the sound effects haha
It feels very satisfying to play, congratz on the entry! <3
Thank you! :)
I really liked this. It was pretty hectic later, but not too many cats died. The sound effects are especially great.
Thank you so much! :)
Did you VA yourself ???? Really like a simple runner game that makes you innovate how you use your bucket. Buckets rule really.
I did voice them myself! Thanks for playing!
Really great game. Level design and player onboarding is well made I did learn fast mechanics of the game without any problem *clap*
It's pretty unique mechanic with that bucket, it's funny and engaging. That dash mechanic is nice example how to scale up the game with next and next trap thing.
Game mechanics have just good potential for some funny/rage game. Art is just nice enough for this kind of game, cool.
SFX is so cool, I can hear you made it by your self, that always plus for effort put into the game.
Just great and unique submission, congratulations on your first! Waiting for more!
Thanks for the awesome review! I had a lot of fun making this game and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This game's sound effects are such a delight!! This was extremely fun to play - the second to last level and the last level were just the right amount of challenging and I had to re-do them a few times.
I saw the extra-hard level you posted in Discord and that had me so curious about the game!! This is a really cool take on the 'repurpose' theme and I enjoyed it a lot. Amazing job!
Also the cat dying was kinda sad, was not expecting that in such a cute game lol
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, awesome to hear that discord brought you here. I've been working away at further polishing the game and adding more levels. I'm hoping to do a bigger release of it in the future so stay tuned! :)
Yeah, I agree the cat dying is kind of sad, especially since I love cats in real life. I kind of wonder if the traps I made should capture the cat instead of killing it haha
Nice! When I was in a game development class back in highschool I had a friend who told me about a game just using mouth noises. This is the first time seeing it in action! Great game. Had fun realizing I needed to delay the rush timing so much so that I could pass the crushing portion on level 8!
Thanks for playing! Yeah the rush timing on level 8 can be pretty tough!
Cat game yay!!
This is a lot of fun! I thought the contrast of the eerie atmospheric soundtrack with the voice recorded sound effects was hilarious xD
The game fits the theme well with repurposing the bucket to proceed through the levels. The various mechanics were interesting, only one I had trouble with was the running one which required a certain timing to get through.
Nice job!
Thank you so much for playing! Really happy you enjoyed it!
This was a very amusing game. I really liked the sound effects. They were hilarious. The whole premise was really creative too. Definitely felt like I was trying to protect my obstinate cat from getting itself killed.
The timing was really precise for some things and not being able to see the mouse was rough. I could not get the timing down for the level that started with dashing across the spikes then jumping up like 3 or 4 levels, then a dash. That pillar always smashed me.
Really cute puzzle game. Nicely done!
Yay! Protecting the obstinate cat is the vibe I was going for so I'm glad that came across! :) I changed things already in my own version of the game so that the mouse is visible when the bucket is placed. I also changed the dash key from D to Space after collecting feedback. Will update the web version with this and more levels once rating is over.
Sorry you had trouble with that level! The timing is definitely tricky on that one. I won't spoil it for others, but you have dash at a very exact time.
Thanks for playing!
The difficulty of each level scales perfectly, and I like when the mechanics are mixed. Maybe it would be nice to show the cursor, or have a “ghost” bucket for the left click / right click preventing spikes mechanic, so the player knows where the bucket will be after right clicking. The graphics are cute and the sound design is hilarious haha. Good job :)
Thank you so much! I've changed things so the mouse cursor shows when the bucket is placed in my own version of the game, along with a few other quality of life improvements (and designed a 9th level)! Just have to wait for the rating deadline to pass so I can upload it :)
What a sound design! :) Nice gameplay tho. Good job!
Thank you for playing!
Great submission! Level 5 is a challenging but fair jump in difficulty.
Thanks! Yeah I was a bit worried about level 5 because it seemed potentially harder than the level afterward. But I didn't want to throw too much at the player when introducing the dashes.
Fun take on the theme. I really wanted to be able to pick up the cat and save it but realize that would be too easy. The difficulty curve was nice, though I will say playing on a track pad alternating between left and right click is challenging. I would have liked to be able to remap the controls. Similar to others it wasn’t clear where the bucket would end back up, but I really liked your ideas here.
Oh, wow! Using a track pad to play this is next level! That sounds really difficult. Honestly, I have a desktop computer and didn't even consider mouseless setups when I was making the game! I've put control remapping options and visible mouse upon bucket placement on the to-do list for later. :) Thanks for playing
Easiest 5 stars I've ever given for audio lol! It's really stressful because I love cats and felt so bad when anything happened to the poor kitty, but I really enjoyed it!
Haha I love cats too (I have two of them at home). They were probably part of what inspired this game. Thankfully, no real cats were harmed in the making of it. ;) ... apart from the fact that I didn't give them as much attention as they wanted as I pushed the gas pedal to the floor to finish working on it. They're both curled up on my lap as I write this though. Thank you so much for the 5 star audio! :)
This is a fantastic game! A great difficulty curve with the hardest level at the end. I like how you introduced the different mechanics in the game, it’s all very clear.
But my favorite part is the sound effects. Can I nominate them for a sound effects of the year award somewhere?
I really enjoyed playing this game, good job making it!
Haha I'd laugh so hard if my silly sfx won an award lol! Thanks so much for playing and leaving such wonderful feedback!
I had so much fun playing this! You had me really focused there on the level 8 and it felt good to win. If there was a hardcore mode I'd be gone for the day. Also, nothing a mic and some vocal strings can't do! Love the SFX. It fits the theme in an original way, it works from the beginning till the end with no issues. Great job!
Wow what a stellar review! I really want to make a hardcore mode and more levels now.
Decent difficulty progression, it’s hard to balance and make level difficulty go up but you did quite well, also it’s a bit hard to always know where the cursor especially after placng the bucket down, but it’s great overall.
Yeah, difficulty progression was one of the harder things about making a game like this. And I'm definitely going to add the mouse cursor when the bucket is dropped after judging ends. Thanks for playing!
Really good level design! Also the voiced SFX gave me some laughs (in a good way). Good work!
So glad you enjoyed the sfx and level design :)
The sounds are great; the tone's the right amount to be cute and funny. I didn't expect to find myself laughing at a cat dying on spikes. There was some confusion for me when grabbing the bucket back because I wasn't always sure where my cursor was and therefore where the bucket would end back up. I would have liked some sort of indicator or temporary cursor to make it easier to tell. Good game!
Oh yeah good call! I should have brought the mouse back while the bucket was placed - that totally slipped past my radar. Thanks for playing!
This is an amazing game, and I had so much fun! I love love love the sound effects. What an adorable submission!
Aw thank you, I love your game too!
This cat needs a better father, I've let it die too many times ;-; . This game was amazing! I think it fits the theme perfectly. The sound effects were beautiful.
Thank you so much! The sound effects were something alright! I got pretty tired of listening to them after testing the game for a week haha! But they were fun to make
