A good pixelart complements this game with a clear design!
What's bothering is that the sphere's spawn position is not correctly centered so depending on where the character is turned, it can crash immediately against a wall (it can be seen clearly inside corridors, when going against the upper or lower wall). Also it's unclear what actually can break the sphere.
Options, and particularly the volume slider, would be a very nice addition
About the position of the sphere, I purposefully did that in order to make it more difficult to shoot through one end of a passage to another. And through game-play, I think it's pretty obvious that only the walls, and the enemies could break the sphere (and the things that are left out, i.e. the player ,and enemy orbs, can't interact with the player's sphere).
Yeah, a settings option with a volume slider would be a really good addition, but I didn't think of it, and I would have been too lazy to add it :P.
Thanks for playing.
This is fantastic! The slow-mo attack feels awesome to use. The game has some great humour, and I love the text effects, they make the game so much more entertaining! It felt really nice, when the game told me I did a "pro gamer move" hahaha :D sound effects are good and the way you switch between the music pieces is great.
Very well done!
Cool game :) Bob's ability is really nicely done and enjoyable to execute.
I finally got to play this and really enjoyed it! It was reminiscent of some SNES games I used to play esp, the cut scenes with humorous dialog. the core mechanic was a great idea, and well executed. Critiques I'd have are mostly listed already and seem like the could affect your design choices anyway, because having everything freeze when you fire seems core to the experience, but I still found it challenging to fire quickly enough, navigate the projectile and evade enemies. I haven't played Cave Story but this makes me want to if it is so inspired.
A really fun little game this one, I really enjoyed the attack mechanic especially. Good job!
This was one of the most fun games I’ve played. Fast, fluid and hard. I don’t usually care for games that kill me a lot but I didn’t mind at all for this one. I got better after a while and had more fun!
The graphics and audio are spot on. If I had to criticize, maybe make the main menu as polished as the rest of the game? I’m kinda fishing for stuff to make it better haha. Proper fun!
I just had a really good time playing this game! The shot mechanic is cool and fast to learn. There are some "strategies" that can make the game easy, one of them being the amount of time you have to maneuver the projectile. I literally was able to clean rooms before going in... but that's a balancing issue that can be polished! The humor is well, BRO... BRO... YEAH! BRO! lol
Great work!
It was a fun game. I enjoyed the visuals and the audio! I sometimes found that when I shot a projectile, it would immediately despawn, because it collided with the wall in front of me. It made the projectile feel a little weird and clunky.
I also found that when I finished the game, the game did not return to the start menu. There was no way to advance from the "Thanks for playing" screen back to the main menu.
But overall, I really enjoyed it!
Yeah, the camera shake when you shoot to a wall while standing directly in front of it is kind of nauseating, but I wasn't sure on how to fix it.
There's no way to advance from the "Thanks for playing" screen because there's nothing to advance to. The game was kind of a one time experience, so there wasn't a point in returning to the main menu.
But I'm glad to know that you enjoyed the game.
I love the graphics and sounds, they are beautiful and create great mood! I feel that maybe mouse click would be better for attack instead of Enter/Z
Hilarious game, and it plays very well. Really a fan of the shooting mechanic, it's a bit hard at first, but after a while it definitely gets easier to use :-)
Very well done game, good job! :-)
Really cool game! First thing that stuck out to me was Cave Story music! I loved Cave Story! The dialogue and humor was really awesome too! Definitely had a good laugh at the "two pixels to the left" and "no ceiling" jokes. I'm very impressed with the cutscenes and story you were able to tell in a 30 day game jam! Really cool! The pixel art is really nice as well. I thought the enemies were a little tough at first, but once I figured out that you can spam and maneuver the orb ability I think the game might have been a little too easy. In that last boss fight, I was able to cover behind one of the pillars and spam my orb to kill him slowly. However, I do think the attack mechanic is very interesting and does have potential! But maybe the player can have another main attack that's less powerful, or maybe if the orb couldn't move in other directions or couldn't be spammed as frequently it wouldn't be too powerful. Really awesome game though! I can see a lot of potential in the game's humor if you decided to make it a full game! Bob is a cool dude!

The visuals and audio are great. However it's really easy to cheese the fights because as soon as you hit someone with your attack, you can just immediately use another attack. My suggestion would be to add a small delay to when you could fire again so you have to worry about where you're standing instead of being able to spam attacks and never worry about getting hit.
Glad to see that you enjoyed the game. I just did shaders for the orbs(blue and red) and drawn Bob. The tile-set is not mine. Do check the creator out here -> https://0x72.itch.io/
