I don't know if this is intentionnal, but the paper slides automatically to the left when I pick it, so it's kinda hard to focus on the name/element. Else, I really liked the artstyle and the mood of picking souls for a living. Good one!

Love the art style really sets the mood and adding the narrative just adds a bit extra polish to the game. Well done really enjoyed playing this game.

The art is amazing, very well done, congratulations.

Overall it's a very polished entry,  I really liked what you did to the narrative and the flow of the game, it was a very nice and subtle touch to have these narrative moments in between levels. The theme wasn't very explicity in the entry, but I do understand how things can end up changing directions as the project demands it to xD  A think that could help a lot regarding the player experiene is to allow keyboard shortcuts, having to click through the whole interface having time as a limit ends up creating a bit of friction in the experience.

Congrats mate, it's quite a good game :)

As someone who adored "Papers, Please", I absolutely loved this game. Personally a fan of this darker otherworldly aesthetic and the art/animations do it so much justice. Add to that a wonderful presentation, appropriate sound design, and solid gameplay made this a super fun game to play. Overall well done!

Super impressive work! The art and effects all worked together to make for a very smooth, slick, and all around professional grade experience, and the theme was a great take on the Papers, Please formula. Great job!

Cool idea and original gameplay. Artwork and sounds are so amazing, I love the colors used and the atmosphere of the game!

Incredible art and sound effects! The gameplay was original and the level where you need to match the names was really hard. Overall a fun and entertaining game. Good job!

Wow - great take on the genre. I loved the art and effects. The narrative and theme was great. This could definitely be turned into a full game and catch the Papers Please audience. Something felt a little sluggish about the controls (either mouse sensitivity or animation response to player input), but it was really minor. Otherwise, I loved it!

Wasn't personally fan of the gameplay, in my mind it was repetitive, but some people enjoy these games and I have to say that the art work and the SFX/ambience was amazing, even I stayed playing this for multiple people coming across! Very well done indeed!

WOOOW! What an amazing art, really perfect! The quality is so good, I felt I was playing a complete steam game. You should keep working on it and release it there. I'd totally buy! Added to my collection! Congratz, AMAAAZING! o/

Interesting game! I think the dialogue and narrative is conveyed very well. Great job on the gameplay-intermission cutscenes. All the pixel-art and animations are excellent, very well done! The sound design is also very well done. The gameplay difficulty progression was great until I got to the names matching part of the game (I found that to be surprisingly difficult!).  I have to admit that I do wish I could have used my keyboard  for actions instead of the mouse (maybe a keyboard button for signing, burning, and revealing a card?). There were moments where I was in a rush and I'd want to click on Burn / Sign, but I'd accidentally click on the opposite action because the buttons are pretty close to each other. Pretty cool game overall! I'll be waiting for chapter 2!

Thank you bro! Glad you enjoyed it!! The initial idea was that the keyboard shortcuts would be upgrades to speed up the burn/sign thing along the game progression, but I had to cut that featured to deliver a more solid game(aka: no bugs hahahahahaha). I have another ideas for the level design, balance the levels more too, but in this jam i tried to deliver the main concept. Thanks a lot for the feedback, it means a lot to me!!

Cool, really nice game, although I'm bad at it... Although I don't understand how it is connected with "Time" apart from the fact that you have a limited time for each "mission" so to speak.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! During the development I changed some things and the concept of "Time" had lost a little bit. The initial idea was a time travel thing, but I had to cut some things to submit in time hahahahaha. Anyway, thanks you!
