That's where I got the idea for this game. I just mixed it with Cave Story as well. And glad to see that you enjoyed the game.

Beauty lies in simplicity and this game looks simply bat has so much potential. I really like the combat style and main character. Simply... GREAT :)

Developer

Glad to see that you enjoyed the game :).

This game just had so much charm! The music was a bop and I loved this art style so much. The reference humor was a great touch, I couldn't stop smiling. It would be a nice addition if you could press a button to speed up the text instead of just skipping it straight up. Gameplay was pretty cool too, and tho moving right after a waterball fireball felt a bit weird and got me hit a couple times I had to get used to it. Great job man, definitely one of my favorite entries!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, and glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.

I like how you taught the player to play. The gameplay was really cool. You should keep doing these games. Maybe go on a larger scale!

Developer(+1)

Ahaha I am thinking of making another game. I participated in this jam to see if I was capable enough to make a game. And I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.

Submitted

You're really talented if this it's what you wanted to know.

Developer(+1)

I'm very bad at sticking to one thing and being consistent and usually jump about different projects that interests me at the time, but this jam helped me being consistent and work through one project at a time.

Game very well done, congratulations! I really spent time playing hahaha

Developer(+1)

Thanks man. Glad to hear you enjoyed the game.

I really love the map, the sprites and text boxes. The story is quirky. The theme is spot on with the timer shot. I need some health pick ups on the final boss though cause I can't beat him :) Also I found a small bug in the gaurded room. I can shoot the enemies before I enter the room and get traped with them. Helped me get past them though. Nice work.

Developer

Thanks for your concern but that isn't a bug. I made  my brother play test it and he 'cheated' the system. I found that to be too funny so I implemented different dialogues if you take that path. Also, if you defeat the wave of skulls spawned by the boss, it will spawn a health pickup in the middle. Thanks for playing :).

I really loved the humor, you have a tallent for that hahaha! Good job!

I think it'd be easier if you could control the spell with one set of commands and move with other, I died a lot moving towards enemies after trying to hit them hhah. That's just how I felt, maybe it's your game design. :]

Overall very good game idea and humor, one of the best entries for sure!

Developer

Ahh, that's a good point but I didn't want to make the controls cluttered and intricate, so I made it simple. Thanks for your feedback and I'm glad to see that you enjoyed the game :).

Adorable & polished game with great audio. I really enjoyed whacking the little guys with that pretty awesome attack mechanic. I admit, I did terribly, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Developer

Glad to see that you enjoyed the game.

This is so much fun! Couldn't beat the boss, but love the mood art and humor.

Developer

Don't worry, once you figure out his attack patterns, the answer will become very obvious ;). But I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.

I liked a lot the humor introduction and mostly the music, very good old memories of 80s games.

Developer

Great to hear that dude :).

Submitted(+1)

nice one, love the graphics and the music! :)

Developer

Hey man, thanks for the feed back. Glad to see that you enjoyed the game.

Submitted(+1)

This game was great! The humor was amazing, the visuals were solid and the boss fight was very fun.

Developer(+1)

Glad to see that you enjoyed the game dude.

Submitted(+1)

Loved the game and the humor.

My only suggestion: a button to skip dialogue would make wonders, especially when you die a few times in the same spot

Developer

Space bar spam is the way to go my friend. Also, glad to see you enjoyed the game :).

I've  added the game to my Application folder to finish it later because I loved the mechanics. Even the very first battle was so intense and engaging, And I can't help but adore the main character, he is awesome ahah. Definitely a good game!

Just a little note: I've experienced some pauses between dialogues, which I assume are the bugs that you might consider solving.

Developer(+1)

I'm not sure what you mean by pauses between dialogues cause no one yet came across it and mentioned it. A gif would help. Other than that, i'm glad to see that you're loving the mechanics. Spoilers: there's a big baddie coming up ;).

Submitted(+1)

I will notify you if I encounter them later again, maybe it was an occasional bug that will never appear again. And yeah, you made me intrigued with the last sentence ahah

Developer

Thanks!

I loved the game but as some one said before, i think there's too much text, didn't bother me much tho 5/5 :D

Developer

Glad to see that you enjoyed the game.

I absolutely loved this game :D Right amount of humour and the artwork is neat. Few things though, there should be like a cooldown mechanic on the powerup, since I could kill everyone by spamming Z right after hitting someone. The boss was a bit harder at first, but pretty much Z spamming worked on him as well.

This game could be even longer and potential to be a fun little adventure game where you would get xp and learn new skills and meet different enemies/etc.

As other people are saying, text was a bit long, but in my mind they were still well done so were interesting to read, although after losing to the boss and having the text again was a bit annoying, but obviously spamming space worked on that :D

Developer

:) Glad to hear that you enjoyed the game. And yeah, the trick you said is pretty much true.

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! The hitboxes felt a little bit off, specially when I was moving the bullet around cages. Overall I had a lot fun playing the game and I enjoyed the dialogues. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback dude, and glad to hear you enjoyed the game.

Submitted(+1)

Really awesome, nice work. Might be a bit too much text to read but over all very impressive game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear you enjoyed the game.

Submitted(+1)

Would give you 6 for the game play if I could.
Not a fan of the audio but that's very subjective and it does suit the game.
I would cut back on the text a little.
Definitively a keeper.

Developer(+1)

ahahaha :D. Yeah, the text can get annoying cause it's long, but you can just spam enter to skip past it. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the game.

Submitted(+1)

Sometimes i diead even i had invincibility. But great game! :)

Developer

The invincibility is only for 1.5 seconds in the first level, but gets bumped up to there at level 2. I'm not sure how that happened. But, glad to hear you enjoyed the game.
