How does the game fit the theme?
Risk it for the biscuit: you got loose from your owner, your goal is to gorge yourself on as many doggie biscuits as you can before you owner gets your leash back!
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
These were the third party assets used during shipping

Abdullah33 and NitroBuilder101 really killed this one I think
Waiting for my pre order bonus on steam release!!
What makes you say that?
Let's have a family 🫃
Oh my god, the number of people who worked on this game is CRAZY! XD
Congrats on the game, Very Cool! > v<
Cute little game and idea. As previous comments I had to admit I had also some issues with the camera & movement which made it difficult to play (sometimes the dog was hidden by objects). With that I made only 32 dog biscuits :/
Overall nice idea - and I liked the dog.
I had to do a double take when I saw the number of people who worked on this.
That must have been a nightmare to coordinate, the largest team I've ever been in was 4 people and that was hard enough, 12 times that is unreal. So good job on getting a finished game submitted to the jam.
Gameplay wise, the environment was fun to explore and looked really nice, but a better camera and character controller would have made for a much smoother experience.
Also, and this may conflict with your vision for the game, but I'm not sure how I feel about using a time limit in a game about exploration. It would have been nice to get a proper chance to see the entire game, and maybe have some kind of threat introduced another way. The simplest thing I can think of is to have the dog's owner(s) try to catch them, then the game essentially becomes like a 3D Pac-man which is already a proven formula which can be built off of in any direction you want.
That's not really a criticism though, just a difference in preference/opinion.
Overall, great work!
The dog and its barks were very cute! The camera and movement controls were a bit disorienting but everything else about the game was adorable. I loved how you filled the space to make everything look super lively!
P.S. I'm not sure which 2D artist drew the thumbnail but it is amazing!
Congrats on getting ~50 people to work on a single game jam!
Gameplay was fun, but the 3rd person camera was REALLLLY wonky at times.
I also diddnt really see any of the themeing in the gameplay itself, is there something I missed?
The game is being reworked currently to add more function to the game loop and fix some of these wonky bugs, but thank you for the support and your game was a great play on the theme, with the risk of the duel.
Really nice visuals and a nice cute game. Loved it that the dog can go down the slide and, if you're skilled enough, climb out of the park and fall into the void for eternity. Also how the HELL did 48 people work on a video game wtf???
The eternal void is calling! If you're interested in how 48 people managed to somehow coordinate I did a vlog about my experience as one of the programmers. Took a while to work out what we were all meant to be doing but we got there in the end!
loved the visuals, the sheer amount of places you can go, very cute game! My only critique is the controls were pretty wonky
Haha we are going to rework the controller so he can make better turns, fix the camera angles, and just improve the flow for our Steam release.
This looks cool, the web version is not a good representation of the 3d game. Visuals suffer a bit and running was glitchy. Surprised to see 48 people worked on this!
I hope you continue the development, this looks promising, but unfortunate incomplete for a jam entry
We are already working on the Steam release. It is unfortunate that web builds are not a viable strategy for 3D games, which is why we encourage everyone to try the downloads instead. Around 20% of our content made it into this jam build, so we cannot wait to show everyone what we have been working on.
48 people?! Damn, that's a lot. Wish there was more to this game than just running around the park (which is really well modeled, I'll give it that). I encountered a visual problem in which characters walked around while their legs were fully underground.
Never stop improving and keep up the good work!
Thanks for letting us know! We rebaked the navmesh to fix this problem for the Steam release!
A 48-person project, that was really surprising! The vibe is nice and comfy, don't know if I missed something, but is there something to restore the stamina faster (like a special bone biscuit that restores your stamina by 20% or smth), also does the barking do anything gameplay-wise (didn't feel the barking affected anything in particular)? Also the dog's controls felt a tad clunky to me sometimes, sometimes when I wanted to walk forward, the dog wouldn't move. Also got out of bounds once while roaming and jumping around to the corners of the park :)
Overall, a very ambitious idea to form what is essentially a small company team in a jam and overall I enjoyed the visuals and the overall comfy atmosphere!
Thanks! We had so many things cut, but the Steam release will have a combo system, stamina restoration, and other neat ways to stay in the flow while keeping the calm vibes!
48 people! thats crazy! Really well done, solid game and fun to run around with the doggo.
Impressive!
How did you manage to get 48 people on the same page in a week?!? I think that's probably the most impressive thing about this entry (not that the game isn't)! 😅
By creating a Discord server for game development and inviting people! Took a whole week of prep to reach that number!
We used discord as well and we used git to manage the code we worked on but even with just two people working on code we had to merge it manually quite often. I imagine this was a nightmare with so many people working together (likely for the first time) on such a short deadline. Well done!
Simple idea, good execution, beautiful aesthetic, good cover art. Chapeau!
Either the tank controls or the small pick up range or both made it a bit hard to catch the biscuits, maybe a more forgiving pick up range could make it more seamless (or maybe it's just a skill issue on my end), I constantly had to stop running to turn 120 degrees to pick up the biscuit I missed. Also the music track didn't loop. I like that I could go inside the slide. That's the best game mechanic. The scoreboard makes me want to keep trying and makes it feel more communal.
We are going to rework the controller for better turning and feel post-jam, expect a really polished Steam release! Glad you had suchh a fun time!
who don't like doing agility with a shiba ? xD Love it ! Was a big fan of the never ending respawn bone !! haha ^^ it's good !!
Very nice game, the level design and graphics were very pretty. Really enjoyed seeing the NPCs go about their daily business.
Was absolutely shocked when I saw the number of people working on the game! Well done on the coordination!
Really really good game, although I couldn't change the locale (I wanted to recognize translators effort by playing in spanish haha). The music is relaxing and the map is worth exploring, kudos!
It can take a few seconds for the locale settings to load in the web build, but we promise they are there! Glad you enjoyed the game :D
Ah, the legendary 48 member game. Finally got around and playing it. First of all, congrats on pulling off this feat of coordinating the huge number of people. It's more people than a small to mid-sized company for god sake. I guess communication and coordination itself would be harder than making the game.
For the game itself, I think it's quite good. The environment is charming and absolutely wonderful. The dog is cute, both in-game and in the artwork. I would say the gameplay loop is a bit simple and doesn't really have much to go for, but exploring the environment more than makes up for it. I still miss collectathon games and it makes me happy seeing one. The music is top notch though, kudos to whoever made that.
Now for some criticism. Since you are such a large team the standard may be a bit higher. It's only fair. I think the controls of the dog need some tuning. It's so slow forwards and backwards, yet turns incredibly quickly. The jump is also quite strange with that double jump-esque animation. The camera moves a lot, and is quite jumpy. These three points alone make motion sickness prone people like me dizzy super easily. For me I need to give up at around 50 bones just because of that. I suggest adding FOV and mouse sensitivity to remedy that.
The level designs are great, but I think the bones respawn a bit too quickly, this sort of defeats the purpose of needing to explore around the area, and possibly wastes the wonderful hard work of the artist. Also, why place bones on the outer wall where you can clearly see the infinite hole that is the scene? This breaks the world illusion immediately.
Anyway, still a huge congrats on even making the game in the first place. Well done!
Such a charming game. Really enjoyed it! Tried to break into the top spot in the leader board couldn't quite get there XD
gathering 48 ppl is crazy. i like how i can slide down the slide. great job on that!
