Very nice game, I love the little details all around and the time you have is enough to explore a lot while still not finding everything! My only complaint would be that the movement and camera is a bit janky sometimes but it's not that bad.

What an interesting project! With so many people working on it I'm sure people came in with super high expectations, but I'm sure the management to even get this game out and running was way harder than I could imagine. It was really cute and fun, and had a lot of things and places to look around :) Good job everyone who contributed. (music also fit the vibe perfectly so good on the composer)

Developer(+1)

Make sure to check out the credits to see all the amazing people on the audio team! They did such an amazing job and post jam we hope to add in even more of the SFX and ambient dialogue they made for us.

I really liked the visuals and audio, feels really smooth

Heya! This was a great idea, but I definitely had some issues with the controls. I didn't seem to get any extra time for collecting biscuits like the description claimed, so maybe I wasn't being risky enough? When I checked the credits, the gameplay music continued to play, so you had two songs playing at once. Looked great though!

Developer

These have been reported. The extra time was a thing that was supposed to be put in the game and will be after the jam. Thank you!

Its good but there are certainly some things to be improved.

There were several times the animations seemed to have some issues. I believe a short delay between 0 stam and being able to run again would fix this for the dog. The people walking around would sometimes glitch into the ground while walking and I noticed some textures fighting on the rocks

The game also selected my second monitor to run on for some reason though that may be a unity thing and not a you guys thing.

I enjoyed the music, it was very peaceful and fit the vibe.

Developer

Thank you for the information and report. These bugs are planned to be fixed.

The audio team did a fantastic job! In regards to the monitor choice, I believe that is a Unity thing.

Shiba can jump out of bounds at the green maze

Good visuals, decent gameplay

but most importantly a beautiful sheeb

Great work! This is the first 3D game I’ve ever tried(In this game jam), and it’s a lot of fun. I really like the dog!

Submitted(+2)

Great game overall! I really like the visuals.

Submitted(+1)

The game looks really polished and I loved the visual style of the game. Although I do wish that maybe the dog biscuits gave you stamina based on their size so you could almost "chain" dog biscuits to run more, I feel like a feature like that is what's missing in the game. Everything aside the game was pretty fun and I LOVE the cover art btw :D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

We did have something like this planned, so you could "combo" bones, but it didnt get finished by the goal time.

Submitted(+1)

Gameplay is really fun but repetitive. I really liked going down the slide with my shiba. I think you guys really nailed the graphics. And idk who worked on those special effects but they're great! I'm so proud....on all 50 of you....

Developer(+1)

thank you! making goma able to go down the slide was a very important goal..

There's so much going on for just a week long jam! It's definitely a bit chaotic but that's normal when 50 people work on it. Loved seeing all the different artstyles

Submitted(+1)

WHAT -- 48 people worked on this! The game is really simple, the visuals are good but the gameplay is kinda goofy -- that is, controling the Shiba. With a normal team that would make sense, but 48 people?!

Regardless of that, i liked the music (even though it wayy to epic xd) and i loveed the npcs walking around the map, it really brings the game to life! Loved the little shiba place in the corner of the map!

Lastly i believe the particle system could be better (when i run on stone, why does grass come out of my foot?) Regardless, loved the idea of you guys, even with these complaints!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the feedback! The art pipeline gets crazy at this scale, so roughly 80% of the game is on the cutting room floor. We are going to be working on a full build in the future to showcase everything, including all the visual fixes, audio lines, and better cinematics.

Submitted(+1)

I would love to have different dog options to choose from or a lobby for other people since you had a big team.
Here were a list of visual bugs below hope you can fix them!
stuttering when running
going next the wall the camera cuts off and pans aside.
clipping pretty weird near the rocks
clipped underneath the map as well.

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing, and for the bug reports!

Developer(+1)

It would be cool, but the game is Run Shiba Run, and the Shiba captures the location of the game the best.

Submitted(+2)

I mean 48 people, wow. the game is good, I laughed hard on the bark of the dog (please tell me that voice is one of you guys). well done!

Developer(+1)

No, sadly now that you mention it that would have been funnier, one of our generalists found a video of a Shiba Inu, then I separated all the audio, but I wish we did do the barks ourselves. 😂

Submitted(+3)

Haven't been able to check it out, Hope you guys add in a web build; Surely one of the 48 devs know how XD.

That being said, find it a bit sad that there's still use of asset packs? You have a huge team.. feel like there's no need for external assets?

Developer

Assets were rarely used in the final build outside of set props and NPCs, since we did not have enough animators to hand-create the park population. Despite having an art department cranking out several dozen unique models, texturing them, and implementing them into the game we needed more minor props for set dressing. It takes a significant amount of time to produce a single asset, even with multiple artists, which is a lesson we hope other devs take away.

Using external assets is entirely fine, as long as you work hard to match the style.

Submitted

Yea I understand that, its perfectly fine, I just hoped the huge team wouldn't have needed external stuff.

Still hope you guys add a web build during the 2 day grace.

Developer

We just added in builds for other platforms, but know that Unity 6 has some performance issues with WebGL. Hopefully there are not any playability issues.

Submitted

Thanks! Got my HS to the funny number.

Wish there was a bit more to do ingame, exploring was nicest, like going down the slides & through the shrine area.

Do notice there were some places the npcs clip through terrain.

Hoping there will be like a postmortum, or youtube video on the entire project.

Developer

We really wanted to add in unique interactions with NPCs and hidden places to explore, tons of little easter egg ideas that are on the cutting room floor. Our art lead is going to work on a portfolio build to showcase some of what was left on the table.

Submitted(+2)

WoW, I find it incredible that you are a team of 50 people, the controls are a little difficult for me to handle, and I love how the dog looks.

Developer

Goma says thank you.

Submitted(+4)

It is pretty cool that you have made this game with 50 people, however I think somethings felt a bit Unfinished. I only heard 1 audio track loop forever, and there wern't really mechanics except for picking up dog treats. Art style also felt a bit inconsistent. Still impressive for a 3d game tough!

Getting 48 people to work on a game in a week is a massive achievement

Submitted(+3)

Coordinating 48 people that you just met  while developing a game in a week, this is insane achivement. Props on you guys, such an inspiration.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! We brought in quite a few people from past projects, like veterans who worked on the 25-person Locosizic team from last years GMTK!

cute silly billy game!!!
