Great game. I really like the low poly textureless aesthetic and the music is excellent. The game is suitably tense and the whole thing seems very solid. Couple of minor control quibbles - I wish Sneak was a toggle and I kept trying to press E again to put down a note I was reading but that doesn't do anything.
The map is huge, and I really like the eerie game style. The music is soft and becomes tense when monsters appear — a very interesting transition. But I don’t understand why I can’t kill the monsters even after using all my bullets.
Wow that was creepy. It really sent shiwers down my spine when I heard the first roar. Great atmosphere, great sound design.
good job on the game! Had some really tense moments at times. The gun didn’t feel worth it, and quickly I realized I should probably just rely on stealth instead lol. I liked the map and how different the other areas felt from each other. It was fun, good game! Type of game to get a manlybadasshero playthrough lol
The sound-based approach is particularly unique, but I would've wished that the game had communicated to me the monster was deaf (I didn't see the note until much later because I went through the flooded cave first); I spent a good couple of minutes running around like a headless chicken.
A very fun game, though, once you get the hang of it. In my opinion, the weapon kills some part of the horror, knowing you can stop it at any time, so removing it would be a good idea to increase the horror!
This was really fun! I've always wanted to make a water/sound horror game, but I don't any more because I think this game executed better than I could hope to haha. The environment is really nice, and while I got lost more than once, everything had a very natural hand-crafting feel to it that made each of the three branches feel unique and alive (good game structure there too). I sort of wish I _hand't_ been able to get a good glimpse at the creature, because the darkness/glitchiness when it was coming for me were pretty compelling too.
Such a cool game ! The sound design was really good, especially the music which felt quite epic. I really liked the water area as it felt tense. I feel like there should be a slider for mouse sensitivity as it was too low for me.
I Love the feel of the game! The monster design is pretty cool! I figured out that the monster had a set patrol path and I was using the way camera getting grainier when you look at its location to locate it early on, but it still felt tense. I actually didn't feel the need to use the gun at all but I appreciate it being there as a last resort and took some potshots at the monster for fun when I reached that high area lol.
Really impressive game! The audio is great, love the visuals and the monster design :) Also didn’t expect the gunplay/shooting the gun to feel so satisfying. Great job :)
Wow big game for a week, though you do got a team working on it. I really enjoyed this, the only issues I have are really just technical like notes not closing when pressing E but F does, this game is a little tough for me so I wil have to come back later to finish it. Though I will say I'm not a big fan of untextured surfaces, it makes the environment feel samey, but again still awesome gameplay is on point.
Interesting game, funnily enough, I tried to make this exact concept a few years back (a horror game where you’re in a cave, have to find dynamite to escape, and have to avoid a monster that can hear you).
I also think having to choose between the gun and the flashlight is a good design choice, I was frequently in a position where I was exploring the level, got the film grain effect on screen, and frantically rushed to pull out the gun.
Oh also, I used Edge instead of Chrome so I had some performance issues, which I am curious about. I wonder what could’ve caused them, this should be a fairly light game due to the artstyle (not a ton of polygons to render + most geometry is static + there didn’t seem to be any crazy lighting setups)
