This game has a good balance for difficulty. I love the trial-and-error approach, where you have to learn where the items are once you die.
The monster AI is good as well, it doesn't tend to stay in one area for too long and amazing at attacking when you least expect it!
Overall, I'm excited to see the direction of chapter 2! (It would be cool to see a bigger map and more endings, but that's just my suggestion)

For a demo, this story seems to be going in an interesting direction! You did great for your first RPG Maker game.
However, just a couple of things that could be improved would be;
- Make interactable objects more obvious (maybe with some sort of highlighting when near an object or a simple icon on top of the head to show that something is interactable).
- Some of the collisions in the map are a little strange (The hitbox on the staircase, for example).
- The scream FX is a little too loud.
Other than that, not much to critique. The art and the music are amazing! Looking forward to seeing the project blossom!
I didn't quite understand the metaphor here, I assume it's a story of guilt, but not sure...
I love how the game looks! The dark forest atmosphere just fills that scare meter up! I don't know if there is anything else to do after completing the objective, as it loops back to the beginning (nice take by the way for the jam theme).
The jump is also very choppy and unrealistically high. It doesn't bother me that much, I thought I should let you know.
Anyways, a more fleshed out story, and I would be invested!
Fun little game to pass the time! Got me stressing a little bit trying to balance between the mouse and everything else!
Although I'm pretty sure it's a bug but sometimes when the ear is popping up, I stop the mouse, but end up getting attacked anyway. I just want to make sure that this IS a bug and not a mechanic I didn't notice.
I didn't know what the riddle meant so I just started fiddling with everything and that works! The combat while simple, is very addicting! The crushed, contrasted and retro style is also amazing but the highlight of this game for me are the dialogues. I love babbling in old english so it's really fun seeing the language used in this game!
Thou creation thy adore, Thee shalt henceforth create more!
As a fan of underwater games such as Subnautica, I REALLY resonated with this game! I love how the creature design looks. The sound design of the deep water atmosphere and how panic-inducing it is being attacked by something underwater!
I also like how you have to balance your power usage as well but right now it's way too merciful, that's great but maybe add a harder difficulty where the power barely generates and make it that the dark poses more danger because I find just going down with minimal lighting was enough!
I like fish, so this is great!
A game about a j-jo-j*b??? This scared me to my ancestral roots!!!
Real talk though, I love the style and how it's all so surreal, gameplay was fun, but maybe add a tutorial on what you should do on labour work. I noticed the calculator, but I don't know what I was supposed to do with the extra empty spaces, then realized that I just need to sum up everything (I'm pretty dumb, please account for dumb players like me :p)
Anyhow, Great game! Interesting plot as well!
The sound-based approach is particularly unique, but I would've wished that the game had communicated to me the monster was deaf (I didn't see the note until much later because I went through the flooded cave first); I spent a good couple of minutes running around like a headless chicken.
A very fun game, though, once you get the hang of it. In my opinion, the weapon kills some part of the horror, knowing you can stop it at any time, so removing it would be a good idea to increase the horror!
The narrative storytelling is great, and I REALLY love the environment setting. Although the gameplay is a bit lacking as it is basically a walking sim but driving instead but having the radio tell the story is a nice enough compromise. I also love what you did with the theme, very creative!
Great story! Gameplay leaves more to be desired... (but that may just be my taste)
Love the multitasking gameplay and the art direction, it reminds me of FAITH: The unholy trinity. However, if I were to suggest anything, you should make it so that the entities will only increase as time goes on and not overwhelm the player as soon as the game starts.
A good game, would love to see the idea expanded!
Note: why is there minecraft.zip, and also what are these?
The atmosphere is great! The camera movement feels a bit floaty or sliding (kind of like moving on ice), and also I often get stuck on the furniture in the hallway, so it would be great if either the prop was smaller or the player hitbox is smaller. The ending was also quite dark, but the story remains somewhat confusing to me.
Overall, a great game! Definitely has some potential!
I didn't understand the story that much, apart from the mc leaving his town behind and all that. I'm sure you have to get all the endings and choices to understand the whole story but I think i'm gonna check this game out again at a later time and finish it.
Gameplay-wise, the interactive driving adds some form of engagement though having to hold W and not doing anything else get boring after a while, wish there were atleast an option to let it autodrive or atleast have something else to do while driving like turning roads and such.
Cool game otherwise, Definitely worth the time playing through.
The painterly effect does wonder for this game's vibe. The story is interesting as well.
However, the gameplay is dragged out way too long because of the bellwether, sometimes it feels like he's actively blocking from actually progressing the game which made a 15-20 minute game into an hour-long game (yes that's how long I've been trying to beat the game)
This game has potential but as of now, I am too lazy to deal with bellwether
I like the psx style with the camera angles and such, I didn't know how to shoot even after mashing my whole keyboard and clicking the mouse (yes I did press f when the enemy was near) Also when the screen was all red I was for some reason trapped in the map and when I tried backtracking, I fell off the map. Good work on the aesthetics though.
