Game Description
You run and gain money to produce electricity for a greedy company.

How does your game tie into the theme?
In two parts: you're a bad runner so no one knows who you are, and you get trash talked by your father. Also, the company is kinda fishy and does "Unseen" things without the public knowing.

Really liking the game concept and I thought the controls are great - very responsive and fitting the game. IThe theme felt a little shoehorned. Overall, great entry - nice work!

That was a lot of fun, I played to the end! It was simple to play, the story was kinda sad but relatable lol

I only met Gerald once but I had both acrobatics and booster on so I was airborne for most of the race, didn't get to know him well 💁‍♀️

Graphics were nice, good job on the entry!

This is so good. I was having fun with the "getting trashed by your dad" kinda thing, I was feeling in character, started using dru- boosts, got first place and all that. But I was NOT expecting that ending. Such a cool concept, and execution, I liked it a lot!

Super cool game journey and narrative!

I thought the idea of the game was a fun one. Getting upgrades to try and better your place in races to earn more money is a pretty tight little game loop.

I think the player gets too easily lost amongst the number of NPC players in the race. It takes several moments, once the race starts, to get my eyes on the player, and, once I do, I’ve probably already run my guy off a cliff or against a wall, loosing me some valuable time.

I like that the race levels are short, but I feel that ledges and platforms aren’t the best idea. I know there’s an upgrade for higher jumping, but what I feel might have worked a little better would have been ramps and inclines for hills. Then the player could be slowed down trying to run up hills, instead of flat out stopped at jumps. Then the jump upgrade could be turned into a dexterity upgrade which would allow you to run up hills a little faster.

Over all, I think this has a solid idea Here’s a link to my stream of the game!

That was... fast ! XD

I had a lot of fun with this game - nicely done! Also, I got a Gerald!

Developer

Nice! First person so far out of 38, that's insane!

I missed the theme connection. I got a run that was totally flat which felt a bit underwhelming. I like the idea of getting faster over time, but was a bit confused on the story. Maybe I needed to keep playing?

Developer

It might make a bit more sense when you finish the game, but I know my game dosen't connect to the theme as much as it should. Thanks for playing!

So fun to play, love a game where I can absolutely zoom at top speed. And such a dark ending (no spoilers). I think the connection to the theme is a bit weak, but I see what you were going for. Nice work!

This has a really satisfying loop and just so much character which I love. Really nice work. I do think it could benefit from a more dynamic camera that doesn't so directly follow the player character when you jump because I pretty frequently was not able to see the terrain clearly due to this. Still a great submission!

Hah, Wow, that got dark.
Good stuff, suprisingly addictive!

Submitted

I really liked it. It is very silly. Good sense of humor

This had a strangely addictive gameplay loop of race/shop/letter. I played until the end. Man, that last letter was surprisingly dark. I also love your commitment to allowing the player to absolutely break the speed of the character. Great entry.

I ran like the wind. Or... more likely like a breeze. But it was fun. And the shady town was amusing.

Submitted

Very fun. Controls got extremely hard at the end since you get so fast, but apart from that, everything was great, good job :)

Developer

If you're playing the game now, I added a screenshot where you can find the secret shop (it's between the red merchant and the player house)

Nice game loop in this. It was fun to see how insanely fast you can get. I eventually got 1st place but that might be because I jumped over a trigger and the race started when I was next to the finish, oops!

I wasn't expecting that ending!

Developer

Yeah I've decided that's not a bug, that's a feature :)

Submitted

fun game, fun progression, very very cool music :D

The bots were so realistic with all the sperging before the race that i was under the impression at first that they were ghosts of real players but since that is a lot of work what you did was a really good impression of multiplayer lobbies :D

Thanks for the comment! Uh why is your pfp the itch.io frog but more detailed?

Submitted

its an uploaded image of a more detailed frog :D

Is this Gerald?

There's a bug with the auto-jump where if you hug a wall it lifts you up infinitely. So in the tunnel race level you can get softlocked if you also have the steroids.

Developer

Damn sorry didn't have too much time to test the auto-jump. That's not gerald, thats your father; Gerald is a bigger you with a golden name in the actual race
